The emptiness of the chest cavity and vessels is the dregs. In the Klongsal, it says: This mind is of the nature of the sky; vast emptiness is the dregs; its essence is the basis of the ground; the thigle, empty and clear, abides in the center of the heart. Also, in the Rabjam, it says: The emptiness of the chest cavity and vessels is the dregs; its essence is like the pupil in the eye, abiding unwavering in the complete pupil of the eye; empty clarity abides in the center of the heart. These are also called the inner arising of the essence of dregs. Thirdly, from these arise the five external elements of earth, water, fire, wind, and space, each having its own essence and dregs. Among these, the essence of earth is trees, etc. How is it clarified in the scriptures? In the Klongsal, it says: The arising earth is the dregs; its essence is trees. The arising water is the dregs; its essence is the moon and crystal. The arising fire is the dregs; its essence is the sun. The arising wind is the dregs; its essence is self-power. The arising space is the dregs; its essence is the rainbow. Also, in the Rabjam, it says: Earth, stones, mountains, and rocks are the dregs; their essence is trees, forests, grains, fruits, etc. The four continents and subcontinents are the dregs; Mount Meru and the seven golden mountains are the essence. The essence of water is the moon and crystal; the essence of fire is the sun and fire crystal; the essence of stone is turquoise and old jade; the essence of earth is gold, etc.; the essence of wind is self-sound; the combined essence is rainbows, planets, and stars. Thus, the outer, inner, and secret elements are considered as vessels of light and maturation, and based on this, they are divided into thirty kinds of essence and dregs. The basis of all these is the precious vessel and the thirty-one light vessels. The essence of the five aggregates, completely purified, is the five wisdom mudras, the five bodies. The five elements, completely purified, are the five consorts, the mudras of space, etc., appearing limitlessly as the nature of essence and dregs. In the Rabjam, it says: In distinguishing the essence and dregs of the elements, there are three: outer, inner, and secret. Also, in the Klongsal, it says: Outwardly, the five elements; inwardly, the five wisdoms; secretly, the five rainbows; very secretly, the five dakinis; supremely, the five life syllables. Also, in the Rabjam, it says: In the bodies of beings, there are the five bodies, the five wisdoms, the five families, the five lights, the five winds, and the five knowledges. Abiding primordially as their very signs, without purification.

When one does not recognize one's own nature, one clings to the five aggregates and the five elements, the five senses and the five desires, the five poisons, and so on. The five aggregates are the essence of the five Buddha bodies. What is said, etc., is also the essence of inner and outer secret and the supreme secret, appearing in various forms in the manner of purity and impurity. Therefore, some tantras explain it as a symbol of self-nature. If we differentiate it slightly, the pure five result dharmas, the impure three mistaken results, etc., all the purity of the peaceful and wrathful hundred families of extremely numerous pure and impure, that is purity and impurity, etc., manifesting endless transformations. From the five wisdoms arise the eight consciousnesses, the hundred Buddha families and their respective thoughts, from light or pure lands arise differences in location. Moreover, if we divide the body internally, from the body arise the forms of the cause and effect of Vairochana, etc., the four external minds of its branches, from wisdom arise the four names of the four families, the inner consciousness of the branches, from light arise the four mothers, from the eight consciousness mothers of the branches arise the eight objects or eight object-times, destruction and continuous arising, etc., are endless. Furthermore, dividing wisdom into twenty-five, including the aspect of the dharmadhatu, etc. It is only to be understood in such a way. Incidentally, regarding the manner of scattering, solidifying, balancing, and confusing of the elements, explaining a little about the meaning of activities such as practice, etc., and bondage and liberation, etc., although it has been said, calculating with the outer elements and the inner aggregates, for the former, from the three states of scattering and solidifying of kalpas, years, months, and days, arise waxing and waning. Among them, solidifying is the accomplishment of the work of maturing the qualities of ability, the purity of inner and outer, by the four elements helping each other. Balancing is the accomplishment of the work of abiding by flourishing without differences in size. Scattering is the work of separating as the power of each ability vanishes. Confusing is the work of emptying by one enemy acting against another. As it is said in "Vast Clarity": These elements have waxing and waning, other scattering and solidifying are also the same, kalpas, years, months, days, food, scattering and solidifying and balancing, confusion, etc., are united into four. Thus, in general, it is explained. In this way, if it is related to the kalpa, the four elements are well formed from solidifying, abide from balancing, from scattering fire burns forty-nine, water floods seven, wind blows one and destroys, after that emptiness becomes one with space, this is confusion. From that it says:
