Of the outer realm, the wisdom, compassion, all-pervading awareness, the great self, the Dharmakaya inseparable from the three kayas, is the basis of delusion of the inner mind. In the definitive meaning of the union, the Dharmata is the basis of delusion of the realm, the five lights are the basis of delusion of the body, and awareness is the basis of delusion of the mind. That is what is said. That is to say, it is fitting to be a basis of delusion when there are similar qualities; otherwise, like humans and horses, because they are different, there will be no error. Because the Dharmata space and the realm have no conceptualization, and the five lights and the body's colors are similar, and the mind and awareness, the compassionate and knowing aspects are similar, therefore it is fitting to be a basis of delusion. Therefore, in that itself, it says: Dharmata is fitting as the basis of delusion of the realm, because the non-conceptual emptiness is similar in Dharma; the five lights are fitting as the basis of delusion of the body, because colors and so on are similar in Dharma; awareness is fitting as the basis of delusion of the mind, because the knowing aspect of knowledge is unceasing. Again, because the essence abides in the body, it is of the body; because the nature exists as light, it is of the realm; because compassion exists in the knowing aspect, it is fitting as the basis of delusion of the mind. The way of establishing it is different. Similarly, because the essence is non-conceptual, it is formless; because the nature is clear, it is the form realm; compassion turns into the basis of delusion of the desire realm. Regarding these, in the Kunzang Tigle it says: Well, what is it? Awareness, Samantabhadra, becomes enlightened; the essence, nature, and compassion abide in three; it does not arise from the father's cause and the mother's condition; it is self-arisen and spontaneously accomplished. Buddhas and sentient beings have the same essence, this is called the basis of delusion. From the basis of delusion arise delusion and non-delusion; when sentient beings are deluded and abide in body, speech, and mind, they do not go beyond the Dharmata of essence, nature, and compassion. Even when the non-conceptual Buddha's body, speech, and mind reach the ultimate, they do not go beyond the Dharmata of essence, nature, and compassion. Thus, the retinue of the Dharmakaya is self-arisen wisdom; the five senses and the sixth, mind, are called self-arisen wisdom; the mind did not arise conceptually in the beginning; because it arose non-conceptually, the mind is called self-arisen wisdom. The meaning is thus, since it is Buddha, how does samsara arise? Delusion arises from the existence of a basis of delusion; from the Dharmakaya, which is without substance, the essence appears as an image.

And with appearance. Moreover, since it is not limited in any direction, appearance is inconceivably vast and pervasive. From that, with the movement of mind, merely the thought arises, "Did I arise from this? Did this arise from me?" and that is called sentient being. Moreover, there are two bases of delusion: the inner base of delusion is the Dharmakaya; the outer base of delusion is the Dharmadhatu, which is non-different from the Dharmakaya. Inwardly, because the true Dharmakaya is not recognized, the delusion is ignorance. The outer base of delusion is delusion about the Dharmadhatu, which is to view it as a different object. Therefore, the Dharmadhatu is the object of the five mothers of nature; awareness is the essence of the Dharmakaya, the three of nature, compassion, the three realms, body, speech, and mind, the basis of delusion for the three poisons, etc. For example: like a variegated rope becoming a snake, white becoming yellow, a plant becoming the basis of delusion for an animal. Coarse knowledge, as well as bile, and what happens after eating dhadhira (a kind of medicine), are the same, so it is called the basis of delusion. Like that, those bases of delusion are also, essence, nature, the three of compassion, are grasped as having the characteristics of objects. This comes from "Klong gsal". In short, the essence is emptiness, so emptiness is opened, and the doors of purity and impurity arise from spontaneous presence and uncertainty. The very uncertainty of compassion manifests in a reversed way, and ignorance arises, and it becomes dull by clinging to duality, which is the point. As it says in the "Mutiq Trengwa": "Although many kinds of bases of delusion are spoken of, in reality they are spontaneous presence and compassion." It also says in "Klong gsal": "Although many kinds of bases of delusion are spoken of, in reality they are spontaneous presence and compassion." And in "Beautiful": "From the unchanging ground, the nature of compassion manifests without interruption, and from uncertain compassion, ignorance arises. For example, clouds are not really present in the sky, but just as clouds suddenly appear, there is no ignorance in the ground, but it manifests like compassion, and the state of spontaneous presence of the ground is formed. That is also to determine the uncertain great appearance as one." So it is said. Furthermore, samsara and nirvana, རྒྱུ༵་གཅི༵ག་པ༵་ (Tibetan), eka hetu (Sanskrit Devanagari), eka hetu (Sanskrit Romanization), one cause, the wisdom of emptiness of essence, is defiled by the nature of one cause, and becomes the cause of delusion. ཡིག༵་འབྲུའི༵་ཚུལ༵་ (Tibetan), akṣara ākāra (Sanskrit Devanagari), aksara akara (Sanskrit Romanization), letter form, the wisdom of self-luminous nature, spontaneously present, is defiled by co-emergence, and becomes the condition of delusion. (Tibetan), adhiṣṭhāna (Sanskrit Devanagari), adhisthana (Sanskrit Romanization), blessing, appears as great compassion.
