Herein lies the cycle of existence. Thus, the six types of ignorance obscure one's own appearances, and delusion arises from erring in the two gateways. From Rangshar it says: Ignorance is also like this: the root ignorance of mind, the ignorance of delusion as object, the ignorance of the ground as the basis of delusion, the ignorance of grasping as conceptualization, the artificial ignorance of the path, and the ignorance of unknowing bewilderment. Thus, ignorance arises in six forms, and one does not see one's own appearances. It also says: From the play of ignorance arises mind; from the adornment of mind arises intellect. Furthermore, the second, in elaborating on the parts of cause and condition as entities, there are three aspects: cause, condition, and the actual delusion arising from them. The first of these is: the cause is made by the three ignorances. In Thalgyur it says: The cause of delusion is ignorance; ignorance is of three types. Thus, although the vidyadharas have composed according to the lineage words of individual recognitions, I say: Because one does not recognize the great selflessness of primordial purity wisdom, which is empty in essence, the cause, which is the single ignorance of self-nature, subtly clings to self as the root of existence. If there is a self, then along with it arises co-emergent ignorance. Like the far mountain in relation to the near mountain, one is bewildered by the spontaneously present clarity of the ground's nature as either dharma or object, and subtle thoughts arise in relation to others, thus there is co-emergent ignorance. Since there is conceptualization in these two, one names them separately, grasps their meaning, and views them as entities, thus becoming the ignorance of the category of complete conceptualization. These three are the cause of creating samsara, just as the delusion of eye consciousness is the cause of double moons and cataracts. In Thalgyur it says: By the single self-nature, the root of delusion is made; the two co-emergent conceptualizations become objects through complete conceptualization. Also, in Longchen Rabjam it says: That is also three: complete conceptualization, co-emergent, and self-grasping; the cause of all is the single one. Also, in Longsal it says: Cause and condition gather together; from the three sets of cause and condition. That is, the single self-nature, self-grasping, co-emergent, other-grasping, complete conceptualization, there are three conceptualizations there. The wisdom of the compassionate heart of the master, the other condition is ignorance, the condition is the light of the object of focus, and the two parts of the conceptualization of consciousness are conditions. So it is. These are the words of the way of establishing from this and the Seventeen Tantras.
