Pana! Forms with a little mind and so on exist. The six realms of form are ordinary, and the formless abodes are fourfold. If there are signs, it is not primordial purity. The five bodies of great emptiness and clarity. The essence of the five bodies is the five wisdoms. The radiance and light of the five wisdoms shine forth. Thus it is said. In the Tantra of the Revolving Lotus, it is said: Initially, samsara did not arise because of non-realization. Before the Buddha of realization arose, the Buddha who purified the two obscurations and accumulated the two accumulations, who is labeled as having eyes, ears, and a nose, does not abide at all. If asked, what is it? It is the wisdom of Samantabhadra, abiding in the three: essence, nature, and compassion. Thus it is said. Therefore, because the essence and the way of abiding are measured by conceptual thought, it is separate from the object of differentiation. In the Clear Expanse, it is said: All that is divided into numbers and categories follows nominal words. It is delusion, therefore it obscures the true meaning. Thus it is said. Secondly, eliminating extremes: Of the general and the particular, generally speaking: The key to the nature of reality being free from elaboration is to eliminate dualistic appearances, causes and conditions, hopes and fears, defilements, and all extremes of permanence and annihilation, as well as self and other, similar and dissimilar, and liberation from similar and dissimilar in emptiness. In the Tantra of the Greatly Clear Bindu of All-Clarity, it is said: Eliminating others, by abiding in awareness, eliminates matter. By abiding in emptiness, it eliminates things. Being non-dual, it eliminates dualistic appearances. Being self-arisen, it eliminates causes and conditions. Being spontaneously accomplished, it eliminates hopes and fears. Being pure, it eliminates defilements. Being non-existent, it eliminates the extreme of annihilation of existence. Being existent, it eliminates the extreme of permanence of non-existence. O Vajra Holder, listen! The general characteristic of the basis of true meaning is to turn away from self and similar. Because it is only similar in awareness, it turns away from the eight consciousnesses. How is it liberated? Because there is no increase or decrease, it is liberated from the alaya consciousness. Because there is no self-grasping, it is liberated from the afflicted mind. Because there is no grasping of subject and object, it is liberated from the mind. Because there is no birth or cessation, it is liberated from the five sense consciousnesses. O Lord of Secrets! It also turns away from the similar in emptiness. The sky of self-nature purity, with color and with habitual dust, is not this. O Great Bodhisattva, listen! It also turns away from the dissimilar. It is not matter that is dissimilar to awareness. It is also not a thing made up of the four outer and inner elements that are dissimilar to emptiness.

O son of lineage, this great meaning is that one should know to turn away from both. It is to be free from clinging to things that are not both. Thus it is said. Secondly, the way to specifically eliminate extremes through the indivisibility of the three wisdoms is as follows: The essence is emptiness, not abiding in the terms and elaborations of thought and expression, eliminating the extreme of permanence through the indivisibility of emptiness and clarity. The nature is clarity, the unobstructed presence of emptiness and clarity, spontaneously accomplished, thus eliminating the extremes of cause and condition and annihilation. Compassion transcends the parts of one and many, pervading all of samsara and nirvana through the indivisibility of awareness and emptiness, thus transcending the extremes of duality. In "Vast Expanse of Clarity," it says: From the perspective of emptiness, free from the extreme of permanence; from the perspective of clarity, free from the extreme of annihilation; from the perspective of clarity and emptiness, free from clinging; the primordial purity of clarity and emptiness pervades; it is the very nature of not being made by anyone. That is the primordial general ground. Thus it says. In "Longchen Rabjam," it says: Essence is emptiness, therefore free from terms; nature is primordial clarity, therefore free from cause and condition; compassion is all-pervading, therefore free from parts; essence is primordial purity, therefore free from the object of expression; nature is spontaneously accomplished, complete in every way; compassion is all-pervading, self-arising. Essence is emptiness, therefore free from the extreme of permanence; nature is clarity, therefore free from the clinging to annihilation; compassion is pervasive, therefore free from the extreme of duality; in the essence of emptiness and clarity, there is no duality; the nature of clarity and emptiness is indivisible; compassion, awareness, and emptiness are indivisible; essence is the body, nature is light; compassion is awareness, is wisdom. Thus it says. Secondly, how does it become the bardo of samsara and nirvana? Such an uncompounded original ground does not fall to either side of samsara or nirvana, but remains as if in the middle, therefore it is called the bardo of samsara and nirvana. Because it has become the general ground of both samsara and nirvana, it is also the bardo of samsara and nirvana. If realized, it becomes nirvana, and if not realized, it becomes like a fork in the road where samsara arises, therefore it is called the bardo of samsara and nirvana. From the meaning of these three reasons, it is called the bardo of samsara and nirvana. In the definitive meaning of the "Gathering Sutra," it says: In the first bardo of samsara and nirvana, the first body of samsara and nirvana itself, in the self-born body, the mind of awareness, because there is no samsara or nirvana, it is not the ground itself. On the ground, the appearances of buddhas and sentient beings, when they are originally absent, the true dharmakaya is definitely present. Thus it says. The self-born essence-body is the basis of nirvana without gathering or scattering, it is the root of all dharmas, originally spontaneously
