Also, just as a bird achieves flight with its two wings, a metaphor is established for achieving oneness (Dharmadhatu). In the 'Extensive' it says: 'The lamp of the pure Dharmadhatu, its light is indigo in color, like the Na Ro (Tibetan: ན་རོ་) letter, or like a knot of five-colored rainbows.' In 'Burning Lamp' it says: 'For example, like the Na Ro letter, two combined become one, black cannot be transformed, after gaining confidence in practicing this, like a rainbow in the sky, colors are not mixed and are completely perfect.' Twelfth, the essential instruction for practicing yoga in the Dharmadhatu, as it comes from the oral transmission. Thirteenth, the definite signs are: when the lamp separates from the space between the eyebrows, the signs of both Samsara and Nirvana turning their backs are definite, therefore one will not enter the womb. When the wisdom of the Dharmadhatu is held in the space of the sky without day or night, the realm of Nirvana appears clearly, so it is a sign that Samsara is liberated into Nirvana. As it says in 'Burning Lamp': 'For those who possess this sign, the realm of space is also the same.' Fourth, the extensive explanation of the self-born lamp of wisdom, in the 'Extensive' it says: 'The self-born lamp of wisdom, its essence, definition, divisions, and, nature, characteristics, the place where it dwells, the door of arising and the realm of arising, practice and views, measurement, metaphors, etc.' There are twelve aspects in total, first, the essence is: the clear self-knowing view, the essence of the wisdom of omniscient knowledge. Or the self-nature that includes the four dharmas such as feeling, or the essence of the wisdom of Dharmata, the general and specific characteristics of all dharmas, and hearing, thinking, meditating, etc., because it is the knower that unlocks all places, therefore, in the 'Extensive' it says: 'The essence of omniscient knowledge, in the self-nature that includes the four names, originally dwells in a part of the body, hearing and thinking and meditating, unlocking all self-aware wisdom, this very essence originally dwells.' Also, in 'Burning Lamp' it says: 'The self-born lamp of wisdom, in this way, the lamp of all, because it dwells as a way of knowing, in all parts this is it, because of the wisdom that distinguishes, it dwells in a way that does not distinguish, the essence of generating subtle parts, is originally dwelling.' Second, the definition is: the characteristic of all dharmas, emptiness, and one's own wisdom and its measure, and hearing, thinking,

Knowing all places that have not been cultivated, and, attaining from oneself the summit of the profound meaning that is difficult for all to comprehend, and, not produced by causes and conditions, but self-arisen, and, illuminating all dharmas and the reality of the lamp, therefore it is called Lamp. All of samsara and nirvana arise in the realm of dharmadhatu, therefore it is called Mother. In the Lamp Flame it says: Wisdom, both real and unreal, enters into all appearances, understanding the common meanings, gaining confidence without searching, one's own primordial wisdom measures all consciousnesses, the dharmakaya of pure nature, not attained by anyone, yet self-knowing, appears supremely excellent from all, there is no place for others to use, the realm of self-knowing is pure from the beginning, not the realm of others, but self-knowing, effort does not attain this meaning, because it does not rely on anyone, therefore it is said that self-appearance arises from the beginning. Lamp is the nature of all dharmas, appearing non-dual, Mother is the pervasiveness of self-nature. Also, in the Garland of Pearls it says: Wisdom understands all dharmas simultaneously, Supreme is the summit of all, Self is the dharma free from dependence on others, arising unhindered and freely appearing, the door of arising from the left is not closed. Third, the divisions are: the division of essence, the division of function, and the division of radiance, these three. The first has five: the wisdom of the ground-abiding self-arisen, which serves as the basis and foundation of all dharmas; the wisdom of appearance-grasping, which realizes the dharmadhatu-awareness without grasping, self-luminous; the wisdom of unobstructed memory, which gathers the undifferentiated appearances, the state of dharmata-liberation, into one place, clarifying and distinguishing in samadhi; the wisdom of individual discernment, which knows the individual and common characteristics of all dharmas without mixing them; the wisdom of the three modes of entry, which cuts off the superimpositions of the meaning of hearing, thinking, and meditating, thereby distinguishing the boundaries of samsara and nirvana. This can also be established as two divisions: the former being the essence, and the latter being the difference of its own function. In the Lamp Flame it says: The wisdom of the ground-abiding self-arisen, serves as the basis of the body and other dharmas; the wisdom of appearance-grasping, holds the meeting place of dharmadhatu and awareness; the wisdom of unobstructed memory, focuses the mind on all objects; the wisdom of individual discernment, distinguishes the individual and common characteristics; the three modes of entry
