The inherent nature of rigpa is primordially present, allowing one to directly see the face of the Buddha of the unconfused ground. As the Rabjam states: "Rigpa is seen nakedly, the ground-abiding rigpa is primordially pure, the path-appearing rigpa is naked; this is the nature of the uncompounded." Nakedness is like a golden chain, shining like gold threads and crystal; like a stretched iron rope, seeing this nakedly liberates one from the clinging of mental judgment. The self-face of rigpa is the nakedness, free from going and coming, arising in the sky. Although it primordially abides in the ground, in between, without conditions, it is revealed by conditions; nakedness arrives in its own place. This is the essence of rigpa; in the past, future, and present, it is unmade by anyone, primordially self-illuminating. The characteristic of nakedness is that it is purified from all conceptual imprints, it is the unconfused Buddha. As the Thallgyur states: "The nature of nakedness is that it is purified from all conceptual thoughts, it is the unconfused Buddha." That is, from the aspect of the appearance of luminosity, nakedness is actually explained as the resonance of the light channels and all its parts—light and bindus. Nakedness is countless, the part-bodies are inconceivable. As the Rabjam states: "Look at the vajra nakedness of rigpa, the four wisdom lamps arise." Therefore, it is said to be the self-radiance of the bodies of the five wisdoms. As the Rangshar states: "The light body endowed with the five wisdoms is fully manifest in nakedness; that is, going and coming, moving and flickering." Such recognition of luminosity is also given in the common tantras, and also in the Glorious Great Wisdom Tantra: "Bhagavan, how is luminosity good? Where does it abide?" The Bhagavan said: "Luminosity is the essence of the bindu abiding in the center of the sky; through it, the great mudra will be attained." Secondly, such rigpa nakedness, from sentient beings to Buddhas, and in any of the three times of ground, path, and result, remains steadfast without birth, death, or change. Because it is unstained by the faults of suffering and signs, grasping and being grasped, and the dharmas of mind, therefore, its dharmata encompasses samsara and nirvana, and is primordially liberated from the ground.

Existing in self-arising, in the unborn realm is the clear light of wisdom. All beings possess it, yet beings do not see it. It is immeasurable, like the expanse of the sky; bright and radiant, like the light of the sun; unchanging and immovable, like the king of mountains, Mount Meru; deep and unfathomable, like the bottom of the ocean; unattached and unstained, like a lotus in the mud. Thus it is said. In the 'Boundless' it is said: 'By the light of blazing wisdom, the light of the body is beyond thought, the realm of signs is from 'ka' to 'da', the side of defilement cannot obscure me. By self-knowing wisdom's clear light, the darkness of samsara cannot obscure me. I have not accumulated a body of minute particles, the mind has no arising or ceasing, transcending the momentary dharma, therefore it is non-dual. Evil cannot obscure my body. I have no birth or death, good deeds cannot protect me. I have no hatred in my mind, what use is calm abiding and insight? I have no grasping mind, discriminating thoughts cannot find me. Where there is no dharma, dharmata arises; where there is no object, it appears as an object. All are pure lands, there is no object to be remembered.' Thus it is said. Furthermore, when a yogi abides in the state of realization, at that time, the object of grasping, which possesses the splendor of signs and examples, and the grasping mind, which possesses the life force of inner clear light wisdom, are subdued by the power of wisdom, and coarse discriminating thoughts cease. Even if stained by subtle discriminating thoughts, they immediately do not accumulate habitual tendencies, cannot take hold, and are liberated into great wisdom. Moreover, it becomes the cause for the spontaneous arising of wisdom that is free from grasping and the grasped, sharp, swift, profound, and clear, thus it does not harm practice but enhances it. If examined well, at this time, the phenomena of mind and all dharmas, obscured by wisdom, arise. Although the intellect that sees them may be like discriminating thoughts mixed with wind and mind, in its essence, it is without grasping and the grasped, and is the wisdom of knowing, therefore it is impossible for faults to arise from qualities. This uninterrupted mindfulness follows the self-appearance of the Sambhogakaya of the Buddha, so there is no need for acceptance or rejection, no need for fabrication, it is completely pure. As it says in the 'Consequence': 'When the mind does not waver from a single intention, clarity shines upon the appearance of phenomena, like a face and a mirror, liberation is liberated in that very moment. When the movement of consciousness vanishes into emptiness, seeing, knowing, and awareness are not different.'
