Without clinging and without clarity is the wrong path of clinging-less dullness. These are not correct *shamatha* and *vipassanā*. All subtle and coarse *vikalpas* cease, clear and bright, self-knowing, self-illuminating, the great *dhyāna* of self-nature, is without the cause of effort, and is prone to falling into the wrong paths of unconscious dullness, etc. If, after falling into the wrong path, one clings to it as supreme, then it is a mistake. In the Wisdom Sky (*Jñānakāśa*) it says: *Śamatha* is free from sinking and excitement, and *Dzogchen* is free from before and after, the two are similar and mistaken, and go astray. Therefore, the great *dharmakāya* is needed. So it is said. Non-conceptualization and emptiness dullness, equanimity and selflessness, the practice of these three are the subtle wrong paths that are spoken of. Secondly, the five arising wrong paths of clarity in *vipassanā* are: the *utpattikrama* practitioner meditating on the deity of imputation, and from the energy channels, light arises, and the empty forms of the ten signs, etc., appear, and the bliss-emptiness transformation born of the two with skillful means, and all phenomena are the play of the pure and impure mind, this is the clinging to the clear appearance, clinging to external objects as this and that. Not knowing the arising and mistaking objects as inherently existent, not finding the confidence of view, and the basis of suffering, clinging to all objects of space as real, and thereby clinging to the one basis of pot, pillar, dust, tree, etc., from that object meditating on the session of abiding, moving, knowing, and seeing, these five are the transformation of color into letters, and the discursive clinging to the abiding place of the inner mind. This is the wrong path of clear *vipassanā*. Deity, empty form, bliss-emptiness realm, and the nature of the *yogin*, there is only the difference of determining the realm, but there is no difference in the grasper and the grasped. *Vipassanā* is the nature of both abiding and moving, awareness, *bodhicitta*, wisdom, manifesting without dualistic grasping in the manner of self-knowing, this is what is called *vipassanā*. If one examines abiding and moving with conceptual thought, etc., no matter which extreme one relies on, it is not correct. All extreme clinging is a deviation from correct *vipassanā*, it is a state of grasping and being grasped. It is a state of confusion and mixing with other paths such as non-Buddhists, or it is a great obscuration of view that has fallen into that direction. In the Wisdom Sky (*Jñānakāśa*) it says: *Dhyāna* and awareness are inseparable,

The two wisdoms of Great Perfection Vipassanā, stray in similarity and error. That is to say, the wisdom of Vipassanā, if one does not recognize the naked awareness that exhausts all dharmas, will wander in the meaningless accumulation of suffering, and there will be no time to cut off doubts. As the Precious Stack says: 'If you do not know this supreme tantra, those who want to practice it are like entering a dangerous path.' This means that transforming colors into letters, etc., these five are called meditating on Samadhi letters, which is to combine the errors of both clarity and bliss into one. Also, the errors deliberately made in the two practices of Śamatha and Vipassanā are: deliberately striving to restrain, like the Śrāvakas and Heshang, denying the five senses without being aware of using the mind. Also, the error of straying without practice is: clinging to ordinary people's own minds, which is confused with the two of non-practice. To differentiate, non-practice means: entering the womb of reality, having purified the play of practice and non-practice, and dwelling in the city of pervasive awareness. It does not refer to the ordinary abandonment of letting go of everything. As the Wisdom Space says: 'Ordinary people and the two of Great Perfection without practice, stray in similarity and error, therefore it is necessary to transform the views of the sect.' These are also clearly explained in the 'Light of Meaning Beyond Conceptualization', the common errors: There are five errors of emptiness of Śamatha, five errors of clarity of Vipassanā, these are the two common errors, a total of twelve errors are explained. Here, the errors of meditation, that is, the latter two of the three of bliss, clarity, and non-thought, Śamatha and the former two, the recognition said here is: Bliss does not refer to the pleasure of desire and the contaminated pleasure, nor does it refer to the joy, happiness, and pleasant feelings that change due to external circumstances, but refers to the state of reality that is not contaminated by the three root sufferings, and one cannot bear to leave it. Here, it is sufficient to cut off the bliss of the channels and winds with skillful means. Clarity does not refer to the self-nature of ordinary illusions, but refers to the unimpeded manifestation of the power of awareness that is not contaminated by dullness, drowsiness, and darkness. Here, the deep clarity of the wind and its manifestation, the signs of the ten, and cutting off the clinging to ordinary people's own minds are sufficient. Non-thought does not refer to the darkness of unconscious thick sleep, but refers to the non-thought space-like state that is free from the appearance of delusion and movement. Here refers to Samatha meditation.
