Furthermore, it is not the case that all those with self-arising wisdom simultaneously attain sudden realization and liberation. However, for those who, through the stages of accumulation, connection, seeing, and meditation, have experienced hearing, thinking, and realization, even in the gradual arising of realization, there is no deviation, obscuration, or error of any kind. As it is said in the tantra of the "Sky, Thunder, Hail, Longdé, General Sovereign, Great Seal Knot": "If you realize the meaning of emptiness-clarity, primordial purity, there is no obscuration of habitual tendencies or ignorance. The ripening of karmic consequences cannot obscure. If you are controlled by the power of karma, there is no self-arising wisdom." Also, as it is said in the tantra of "Cutting the Beginning and End of Samsara": "If you see the definitive meaning, the true path, there is no hesitation in decision, possessing certainty, free from hope and doubt. If you realize the meaning of the essence, there is no obscuration of understanding. If you realize the meaning of equality, there is no error." Also, as it is said in "The Mountain of Accumulation": "If you realize this general lord beyond mind, there is no deviation, obscuration, or error whatsoever. Emptiness-clarity, primordial purity, clarity-purity, emptiness, non-existent, from the beginning there is no entity. Deviation, obscuration, and error are purified from the root." Also, as it is said in "The Ambrosial Ocean of Gathering": "If you realize the meaning of perfect direct crossing, there is no place for deviation, no obscuration, no error." These are the statements. Secondly, regarding how deviation, obscuration, and error arise in individuals who have not realized in this way but only have experience of hearing and thinking, a detailed explanation will be given from the perspective of distinguishing deviation, obscuration, and error. The following will briefly summarize its meaning and explain how to cut off and eliminate these problems, as well as how to review them. Firstly, among the four yogas of continuous practice of view, meditation, conduct, and result, the first is the yoga of continuously practicing the view, in which there are three situations: places of deviation, places of error, and places of omission. The first situation is: the basis of the view, the lamp of self-arising wisdom of the fundamental continuity, refers to the mind of enlightenment, the awareness of emptiness-clarity, transparency. Like an ocean without waves, abiding without being disturbed by the winds of conceptual thought, this is called the yoga of continuous practice of the view. However, because the object of the view, the luminosity of non-proliferation, has not been truly established, there will be deviation, omission, or error in general and in particular, that is, the three situations of deviation, obscuration, and error. Among these, the general deviation and omission refer to: deviating and erroneously tending towards the views of the previous nine vehicles. Because the view of Dzogchen has been thoroughly established, one will no longer deviate into those views, so it is explained in detail for this purpose. Just like the precious, luminous razor of...

From the Tantras: Omniscient Samantabhadra declared: If realized, there are no errors or obscurations; if not realized, errors and obscurations appear as delusions. The six vehicles for attaining certainty are deviations from the Great Perfection. The obscurations to attaining certainty in Dzogchen are explained: Sutra, Kriya, Upa, Yoga, Maha, and Anu Yoga—these six are the errors and obscurations of the Great Perfection. The Bodhisattva of Sutra desires the realm of Kuntu Zangpo (Samantabhadra), analyzing emptiness of phenomena with the discernment of the two truths. Ati is emptiness and great bliss, without the meaning of calculation and imputation. The absence of calculation and imputation is obscured by Sutra. Engaging in calculation and imputation is said to be a deviation in Sutra. Because the delusion of analysis is not fundamentally severed, one is deluded into great ignorance. Kriya desires the state of Vajradhara, entering the gate of the three purities, clinging to the purity of phenomena, abiding in the realm of grasping and being grasped. The meaning of non-delusion of grasping and being grasped; the absence of grasping and being grasped is obscured by Kriya. Dzogchen clinging to grasping and being grasped is said to be a deviation in Kriya. Because the root of the delusion of grasping and being grasped is not severed, one is deluded into Kriya in Dzogchen. The view of Upa is the conduct of Kriya and the practice of Yoga; without the meaning of the connection between view and conduct. The essence of Ati Yoga is that both view and conduct are Bodhicitta; non-duality is obscured by Upa. Dzogchen clinging to duality is said to be a deviation in Upa. Because the non-dual wisdom is not understood, one is deluded into separation in Dzogchen. Yoga desires to arrange densely, entering the gate of signs and non-signs, mainly practicing the four mudras, unable to enter the realm of non-differentiation. The essence of Ati Yoga is Bodhicitta without differentiation; non-differentiation is obscured by Yoga. Dzogchen clinging to differentiation is said to be a deviation in Yoga. Because non-differentiation is not understood, one is deluded into dualistic appearances in Dzogchen. Maha desires the state of Vajradhara, entering the gate of the three samadhis, in the mandala of self-existing purity, practicing the four stages of approach and accomplishment. The essence of Ati Yoga is Bodhicitta beyond effort and practice; being beyond effort and practice is obscured by Maha. Dzogchen clinging to effort and practice is said to be a deviation in Maha Yoga. Because the delusion of body and speech is not pacified, one is deluded into contrived actions in Dzogchen.
