Even if you search, if you don't realize your own mind, you will fall into the lower realms. It says, "From Yeshe Drubpa: Whoever has the kindness of the lama, Their very essence will attain the supreme. If done otherwise, for a long time, Due to confusion, suffering will arise." And also, there are so many other examples, that a foolish person with steadfast faith is more pleasing than those who boast of being wise and belittle these teachings. From the tantra: Or a foolish person has steadfast faith, For them, the accomplishment of siddhis is near. So it is said. If even the wise cannot realize it, what need is there to say that liberation will not occur by purchasing the words of foolish people, and even realization will not occur. Therefore, by relying on a true and holy lama, and through their introduction, one will surely realize it, and by receiving blessings into one's being, the accomplishment of supreme and common siddhis is the purpose of introduction. From the Rim Nga: If one receives the beneficial teachings through the kindness of the lama, Even if one thinks one will not be liberated, one will be liberated. And as it says in the tantra of the Nyingthig: Dharmakaya depends on oral instructions. So it is said. Second, regarding the actual introduction, Through the blessing of empowerment, Through the discernment of separation, Through skillful means, the naked introduction, these three. The first is: By the vajra-meaning-endowed teacher, To the disciple endowed with characteristics, Introducing through the door of empowerment endowed with signs, symbols, and meanings. By bestowing the four empowerments of elaborate, unelaborate, and extremely unelaborate, For example, just as the power of a lamp dispels darkness, making the vase in a dark room visible. Through the power of the lama's blessing dispelling obscurations, the wisdom of one's own nature becomes manifest. From Gyatso Klongsal: For example, losing an object in the dark, It is difficult to find by searching with one's hands. Relying on a bright lamp, There is no doubt that it can be found by searching. Likewise, in the darkness of ignorance, The jewel of Dharma, like daylight, is lost. It is difficult to find with conventional words. Through the kindness of the unerring lama's face, It will be found through precious symbols. So it is said. From Thalgyur: Empowerment relies on symbols, Self-awareness, being clear, introduces oneself. So it is said. Second, regarding introduction through the discernment of separation. There are many ways of discerning, but here are: A general explanation, and a specific explanation, these two. The first has two parts: the reason why separation is necessary, and the actual method of separation. The first is: Generally, without separating mind and wisdom.

If so, one cannot be liberated from the deluded cycle of the mind. As it says in "Perfection of Skill": If mind and wisdom are not distinguished, the root of phenomenal objects will not be severed, and even the faultless nature of reality will be difficult to realize. So it is said. The pure appearance of wisdom is the Dharmakaya and the Nirvana of wisdom. If these two are not distinguished, and the ground, path, and fruition are established on the mind, one will not transcend samsara. Because some aspects of clarity and non-conceptuality become causes of delusion, considering them as one is not distinguishing between obscurations and the basis of obscurations. It is important to know the basis of samsara and nirvana. As it says in "Self-Arisen": Mind does not desire fruition, because there is awareness of wisdom. So it is said. Furthermore, as it says in "Definitive Meaning Compilation": To desire Buddhahood in the mind is like a widow marrying her son. For example, black coal, even if polished on the outside, will not become white. To desire Buddhahood in the mind is like counterfeiting gold with copper. So it is said. Secondly, the general explanation is given in terms of essence, definition, and division. The essence of mind is the conceptualization of grasping and being grasped, the conceptual thoughts of the three realms, with the root of self-grasping. The essence of wisdom is the clear light Sugata-garbha, free from grasping and being grasped. As it says in "Mirror of the Heart": Be skilled in awareness, free from grasping and being grasped. That is (the essence of wisdom). The definition of mind is the mind that thinks about objects, the mind with and without conceptualization. The definition of wisdom is the knowledge that has always been present on the ground. As it says in "Intentional Compilation": Lord of Lanka, wisdom does not arise from elsewhere. If it arose from elsewhere, it would be temporary. The so-called wisdom is not like that. So it is said. The division of mind is the two, pure and impure, which is the division of its own nature. In "Burning Corpses in the Cemetery," it says: The number is considered to be eight types. Therefore, the eight consciousnesses are the division of number. Furthermore, there are fifty-eight thousand four hundred mental factors. The division of wisdom is the ground, abiding, characteristics, clinging, and pervasive object, these three have ten internal divisions. Furthermore, there are five established from the place of exhaustion, which are inconceivable. As it says in "Consequence Theory": The so-called mind is deluded conceptualization, the essence is entering and pervasive, it is the basis of memory and thought, the division is pure and impure, the definition is that thinking gives rise to the object of memory, for what mind and what thoug
