One should decisively sever the root! What is that cause? It is the protector who is primordially enlightened, beyond birth and death, beyond expression, the unchanging suchness, the Dharmakaya unborn of conditions, although without substance or characteristics, it pervades all dharmata, the pristine clarity unobscured by the husk of habitual tendencies, which cannot be improved by causes, paths, or conditions, beyond the realm of the objectifying and thinking mind, the great Madhyamaka free from extremes, not temporary or subsequent, but the primordially pure essence that has never been deluded from the beginning, in which there is not even a little that can be established as a dharma to be identified, the bardo of samsara and nirvana in which there is no establishment in terms of grasper and grasped, object and mind, that great equanimity in which there is no acceptance or rejection, abandonment or adoption towards the objects of good and bad, desire and hatred, that itself is the unadulterated, co-emergent wisdom that is inseparable from quiescence and insight, it is the primordial wisdom of the meaning of the fourth empowerment, one should decisively determine this! If one does not recognize this, one will wander in a continuous stream of delusion, one should decisively sever that there is no other cause of delusion. The ultimate view of the tantras, agamas, and instructions is the essence of the wisdom Buddha, free from elaboration, residing in oneself. The guru's instructions indicate this with three aspects: example, meaning, and sign. For example, just as one sees one's own face by relying on a mirror, one should determine and realize this, one should decisively sever this! Because the nature of reality abides in the great primordial liberation free from elaboration, the view and meditation of the vehicles that have something to meditate on are far from the meaning because the ground and path are confused. Therefore, knowing that one will not attain enlightenment without knowing this great teaching that cannot be meditated upon, one should decisively sever the nature of reality as unmeditated, naturally abiding, and greatly self-liberated! From what did samsara itself arise in the beginning? It is from ignorance, from not knowing one's own awareness and one's own face. Knowing the definitive conclusion that it has been uprooted and that one's own face has clearly appeared as wisdom, one attains Buddhahood from now on without depending on time. As it says in the Padma Garland Tantra: 'Thereafter, for the sake of beings, the severance of view is taught.' One should decisively sever that there is no other cause for Buddhas and sentient beings, only one cause. And one should decisively determine that that cause is the Buddha. Because one does not recognize one's own nature, one is deluded, one should decisively sever that this is ignorance. One should decisively sever that this is like relying on a mirror, a person can see his own face. One should decisively sever that one is not distracted from the meaning of seeing it.

Decide! For the true nature of things, there is nothing to meditate on, completely decide! If it can be found through meditation, then it is not the true nature, decide! Without understanding the single meaning of non-meditation, one cannot attain Buddhahood, completely decide! Without understanding the beginning and end of samsara, one cannot decide the key instructions, make a firm resolution! The tantra without letters! The instructions without meditation! The view without hope! The conduct without restraint! The accumulation without effort! The obscurations without purification! Look at the old woman's pointing finger instructions, the lamp of wisdom! Thus, the Teacher spoke to the assembly: Without birth, without indication, make a firm resolution! The essence is immutable, make a firm resolution! The Dharmakaya is free from conditions, make a firm resolution! Non-existent like the sky, make a firm resolution! Without effort, beyond mind, make a firm resolution! Without name, beyond expression, make a firm resolution! Liberated from extremes, make a firm resolution! Immeasurable depth, make a firm resolution! The great primordial purity of Dharmata, make a firm resolution! Without things, also make a firm resolution! Without grasping, also make a firm resolution! Without object and mind, also make a firm resolution! Without affirmation and negation, acceptance and rejection, make a firm resolution! Thus it was said. Thus, the necessity of deciding on one point and reciting is: By completely deciding that all dharmas encompassed by the basis, samsara, and nirvana are complete, therefore, there is a need not to stray into the self-nature of samsara and nirvana; and there is a need to know that liberation can be confused from the beginning; and by completely deciding that skillful means and wisdom are simultaneously complete in the aimless wisdom, therefore, wisdom does not stray into emptiness; and there is a need for skillful means not to revert to characteristics; and there is a need not to misunderstand Dzogchen as the direction of the Hashang without skillful means. From Rangshar: Whatever is made, is of the nature of destruction. Therefore, by deciding that the three kayas are spontaneously accomplished in the wisdom of the result, therefore, there is a need not to stray into the Dharmakaya of time and conditions, which is a fabricated and destructible phenomenon. All these needs are accomplished. Also, it is because it is necessary to completely understand and decide the three paths of samsara, nirvana, and the path, mainly through the wisdom of hearing, that it is placed in that object. The nature of realization, the three confusions of primordial purity, obscuration, and delusion, even the yogis who realize them as they are do not have them, but in order to show the way in which inferior and intermediate beings become confused from similar grounds, and not to fall into that direction, it is said.
