Without being captivated by the marks of (conceptualization), non-conceptualization and the union of tranquility and insight arise in the continuum. That is to say, from the perspective of seeing the aspect of self-awareness, it is like a king ascending the throne. In "The Clear Meaning of Non-Elaboration," it says: This (king ascending the throne) is more difficult than the previous two because the element of marks is greater. The eyes look at the ground, the neck is slightly bent, and the chin almost touches the chest. This is the method of enthroning the king and laying the seat. In this way, awareness is like a king, occupying its own position. So it is said. The latter two (referring to "ministers imprisoned" and "subjects subdued") arise from their own positions, so they are not explained here. These can enable the king to ascend the throne. Second, ministers imprisoned: Unlike others who rely on focused mind meditation, a method of cultivating wisdom that is inseparable from the mind arises, so the winds of thoughts are bound and imprisoned, which is the superior capacity; binding according to circumstances is the intermediate capacity; binding with twenty-one skillful means of holding the mind is the inferior capacity. For example, if the most beloved minister is imprisoned, the king must also listen to the enemy's words, just as wisdom abides in its own position, which is an unchanging practice method. In "Kunsel," it says: The minister is the mind, because the energy of awareness is not lost in the wind, so it does not continuously generate conceptual thoughts, but appears non-conceptually. For example, when the minister is imprisoned, it is like there is no one to offer advice and do things. The body is not separated, and there is still breath, so awareness has a horse, like a minister. It is like being imprisoned, there is a cause for conceptualization, but it cannot move. So it is said. This (minister imprisoned) as a skillful means, closes the door of the winds of the channels, becoming a great help. Third, subjects subdued: In this way, when the minister is imprisoned and the king ascends the throne, although the appearances of the five senses do not cease, abiding clearly without conceptualization is the superior capacity; the intermediate capacity trains through direct transcendence; the inferior capacity also, in the self-ground of equipoise, does not continue to extend the habitual tendencies of subsequent thoughts, so it is constantly cut off. In "Kunsel," it says: The five senses are like subjects, they are the ones who do things. At that time, it is clear and without conceptualization. This is like subduing the subjects. So it is said. These are also from the "Tantra of Determining the Ultimate Nature of the Secret Bindu": Showing the meaning of seeing without seeing, without striving, body, speech, and actions relax, the king should ascend the throne, the ministers should be imprisoned, and all the subjects should be subdued.

Om! From the 'Meaning Clear' it says: The king is placed on the throne, and the ministers are imprisoned. The subjects are forcefully made to submit. This is the first point. Secondly, there are also three things to be learned: Firstly, the commitment to learn the wisdom of emptiness of essence is: In the state of naturally pure space, by settling equally with either effort or non-effort of mixing and transferring the mind, all the unequal phenomenal concepts of mind and mental events are completely purified, and the awareness free from conceptualization arises indivisibly like the three-times-shaken sky. This is called the unconditioned state. Sometimes, the four elements of earth, water, fire, and wind, the self-sound of the clear aspect of awareness arising without obstruction, not being grasped as dualistic observation and thought, not being bound by the fetters of meditation, mental activity, and definitive liberation, but resting in clarity without grasping, is the method of learning the naturally learned. Appearing yet without inherent existence, non-existent yet appearing clearly without ceasing. Deciding that the union of clarity and emptiness, the great self-existing wisdom essence, is of one meaning, and gradually becoming accustomed to its state from each aspect, is the mind of an objective person. Entering simultaneously is the mind of self-appearance. However, taking the former as a starting point, what is learned here is for those of medium and superior faculties, or medium and superior habituation, and the latter two views are distinguished by the effortless arising in the mind and the nakedly clear arising of awareness. This is called 'what is to be learned' because it is the essence of the view to be learned. From the 'Effortless Meaning Clear' it says: Alas! Alas! Son of lineage, what is to be learned is the pure state, the great self-essence. The naturally pure space, and the space of the purity of phenomena, the three of awareness free from conceptualization, indivisible, empty, and non-conceptual, are called the unconditioned state. The arising of self-aware wisdom, and the two of the four elements arising as sound, the wisdom sound of unceasing nature, appearing clearly yet without inherent existence, emptiness not appearing yet having inherent existence, the meaning of the indivisible great self-essence, in short, is the meaning of self-aware wisdom. These are the common meanings of calm abiding and special insight, the way of gradually settling equally and learning harmoniously is the way of gradual entry because there is meditation. The object of this great self-essence is, external and internal...
