However much one remains in equanimity, it is to abide naturally and spontaneously, but that also cannot fully express the great meaning, because the true ultimate truth is in the clear light wisdom, and not just abiding in non-thought. Furthermore, the spontaneous meditation of self-nature, non-thought arises naturally, body and speech abide as usual; and the meditation of continuous object, contemplating the absence of self-nature in afflictions, as an antidote, these two are merely suppressing the beginning of afflictions. These also exist in ordinary people and qualified meditators. The meditation of abiding on the ground is the essence of the ground, merely the samadhi that purifies the obscurations of one's own ground. These also come from the 'Sun and Moon Conjunction Tantra': The meditation of the Great Vehicle is, the spontaneous meditation of self-nature, makes the uncreated body and mind abide as usual; the meditation of continuous object, suppresses the heads of sudden afflictions; the meditation of abiding on the ground, each nourishes their own continuum. Please listen again to the excellence of non-thought! Thus it is said. In the 'Tantra Showing the Clear Light of Wisdom' it says: The five senses are clear and without clinging, abide in that state. From then on, when stability arises, the essence of all objects, are all just like a blurry and vague appearance. Just abiding in that state, is the yogi who can overcome everything. Thus it is said. If we summarize its meaning, in 'Self-Arisen Wisdom' it says: The meditation of a Bodhisattva is, the mind is not clinging, but arises naturally and spontaneously. Habit becomes natural, abandoning the attachment to food. Practiced by those abiding on the ground, thoughts naturally disappear. But that also cannot express the great meaning. Thus it is said. Incidentally, cutting off attachment to food is essence extraction, with clothes it is tummo, habitual patterns are cut off by dreams and clear light, therefore they are not separated. Meditation is mind-holding, and the meditation of a Bodhisattva, these are for those of inferior faculties to be able to meditate, and the meditation taught for those of middling faculties who do not practice continuous samadhi. For these two, ultimately uniting shamatha and vipashyana, using the gradual method as the correct ladder, thereby entering into the actual yoga, therefore, in 'Self-Arisen Wisdom' it says: The methods of meditation and what is to be meditated are taught. By extension, the recognition of the mind of others, places, meditation, and the three thoughts are slightly different.

Possessing the method of practice of the net, it becomes the essence of all who have practice and no practice, above and below. In the intention of the Thus-Gone One, although there are superior, middling, and inferior faculties, and the principles are similar, there are slight differences in the methods of expansion and seeing and practice, so merely practicing does not become a fault. Therefore, the common and individual aspects of the methods of practice, what is to be practiced, and the amount of practice, these three, should be explained in the manner of a mixed transmission. In general, there are three types of practice methods: outer, inner, and secret. The outer practice is to relax the nine activities of body, speech, and mind, and to abide in a state of non-action. The inner practice is to close the doors of the channels and wind, so that the three essential points do not waver, and to place the essence of the tears in the bindu of the outer space, without blinking the eyes. This is called the ocean of methods of meditation. The key to the effortless accomplishment of the latter three practices is twofold: concise and extensive. First, at the beginning of the formation of the body, the lamp of the navel chakra knot, and the two lamps of the eyes that form the elements, are connected to the heart, which is entwined with the fine channels. It passes through the spine and pierces the eyeballs, and when the citta flares up in the network channel, the three bodies are triple-layered. In the palace of the dharmadhatu, the body of light and so on reside, and the inner radiance is clear in the signs, so if it is connected to thögal, it is dharmadhatu and bindu. With trekchö alone, the practice of the indivisibility of the three kayas of space forcibly stops the conceptual thoughts of the mind, which is the minister, and the radiance of the king's great wisdom truly increases. The conceptual wind dissolves into the mother wind, and the primordial wind swirls in the dharmadhatu. The functions of the five senses cease, and thus the latter three practices arise in the continuum. From Kunsel: If the meaning of having practice is shown, then the method of practice, what is to be practiced, and the amount of practice are summarized and shown in three aspects: outer, inner, and secret. The outer is to relax the body, speech, and mind, abandon activities, and abide. The inner is to close the doors of the channels and wind, from the spontaneously arising bindu of the dharmadhatu. First, the existence of the body is formed, from which two channels are formed, upward and downward. When the two channels meet, the channel knot becomes the navel chakra. From there, the fine channels nourish the body. From there, the internal organs such as the heart grow. There is breath in it, and from that, conceptual thoughts arise. Therefore, the sign of the channel is the eye.
