Like bees clinging to petals, naturally clear without cultivation, like the essence of clear sunlight. Thus it is said. Fifth is the call, from the 'All-Illuminating': 'From all the tantras and instructions I have taught, all the words 'without cultivation,' and 'nature,' 'essence,' 'great essence,' and 'originally without separation,' and 'beyond all actions and seeking,' and 'the path cannot be traversed,' and 'realization manifest as enlightenment,' and 'self-arisen great wisdom,' and 'spontaneously accomplished primordial enlightenment,' and 'without mental fabrication,' and 'separated from object and subject,' and 'settling the mind on the meaning of non-cultivation,' and all the words 'cannot be cultivated,' are gathered by the call. Understand as I have taught here.' Thus it is said. Third, identifying one's own practice: The nature of the dharmadhatu, free from elaboration, great bliss, the essence Samantabhadra, and the adornment of the dharmas, the appearance body and wisdom, all aspects supremely endowed, the adornment Samantabhadra; the state of union, appearance pure and equal, the teacher Samantabhadra whose skill and power arise directly; the great essence, the unobstructed manifest wisdom, the compassion emanation body, the awareness Samantabhadra, the realization Samantabhadra who matures into the four bodies of wisdom as it is, is truly born, is the wisdom of knowing. Its playful field of taming beings is endless, the great compassion without object, pervading all, accomplishing activities, is the loving compassion. Possessing the essence of emptiness and compassion, the plan of bodhicitta that dispels obscurations in the buddhafield, therefore the connection of compassion is counted from here. As the Kalachakra and Hevajra say: 'Emptiness and compassion are inseparable, it is called bodhicitta.' Therefore, it is called the practice of the connection of knowledge and compassion. This explanation mainly emphasizes the practice of view. This is inseparable from all conduct without cultivation, like the flow of a great river, able to withstand conditions, therefore it is the pinnacle of day and night union practice. Furthermore, applying the power of samadhi wisdom in post-meditation, generating the three wisdoms and sixteen great compassions, etc., is established as the sign of the correct path, as the root text says.

From the Mirror of the Noble Mind: "Self-nature Samantabhadra, Ornament Samantabhadra, Teacher Samantabhadra, Awareness Samantabhadra, Realization Samantabhadra." And: "My self-nature is Bodhicitta, I am the Bodhisattva Samantabhadra." And from the Tantra of Wisdom Coextensive with Space: "The arising of two minds, inseparable from the moisture of compassion, is complete." And Nagarjuna said: "If the meaning of unborn from the beginning is realized from the depths of the mind, compassion will naturally arise for those who are drowning in the path of samsara." And Padampa said: "Realizing emptiness and the arising of compassion are simultaneous." And from the "Brief Instructions on Empowerment": "From the wish-fulfilling tree of emptiness, the fruit of objectless compassion arises." And from the scriptures: "When a Bodhisattva is perfected by the power of habituation in Samadhi, especially compassion arises for those possessed by the demon of clinging to reality." And in the Compendium of the Perfection of Wisdom: "Only one who possesses compassion transcends the vast expanse of wisdom's light, like the sky." Furthermore, it is also called the rays of wisdom and compassion because one possesses the confidence of the view that knows that the essence is beyond meditation, or although one possesses the wisdom of knowing from the view descending from above, it is not that only those with the sharpest faculties can enter the path, but for those of middling and lower capacity, through the meaning of meditating and not meditating, and the meaning of what can be meditated upon, ascending from below, with the means of great love and compassion, without abandoning but with the powerful force of embracing, hence it is called the rays of wisdom and compassion. Therefore, it is the meaning of explaining the union of the meditation of the two wise ones. Secondly, explaining specifically from the perspective of the actual method of meditation, establishing the foundation with the view of severing the continuity of the city, practicing with the meditation of uniting day and night, and seeking companions with the conduct of subduing appearances, these three aspects should be used to seal off. From Rangshar: "The meaning of the Secret Mantra Vajrayana is summarized in three aspects: view, meditation, and conduct." Thus it is. Among these, the first is that although the yoga of continuous practice of view arises generally for those with minds focused on objects, this is not a path of orderly progression, any of the four yogas can achieve the ultimate result.
