And, in the Root Downfall Summary, it says, "For dharmas devoid of names and so forth, to conceptualize them is the tenth." And, "Ema, the Buddha's intention cannot be swayed by logical reasoning," as stated in Accomplishing Excellence. In Illusion, it says, "Bringing forth meaning from hidden depths resides in the mind of the teacher, Vajra." And, in Vast Expanse of Sky, it says, "With the definitive instructions of lineage, the essence of one's own mind, the Dharmakaya, if shown, is known immediately; without being shown, it is impossible to know." And, in the Wheel of Bliss, it says, "Likewise, if the lineage-holding lama does not show the instruction of Dharmakaya, even if one seeks the Dharma of faults by stealing teachings through various means and deceptions, one will not realize one's own mind and will fall into the lower realms." And, in Accomplishing Wisdom, it says, "Whoever has the kindness of the lama, for them, that very thing will become the supreme attainment; otherwise, for a long time, they will be confused and afflicted." Furthermore, there are so many others that it is better to rejoice in a foolish but steadfastly faithful person than in a self-proclaimed wise person who disparages these methods. The tantra says, "Or, a fool with steadfast faith, for them, the accomplishment of practice is near." So it is. If even the wise do not realize it, how could liberation come from buying the words of fools, or even realization? Therefore, by relying on a genuine and holy lama, and through their introduction, one will surely realize it, and by receiving blessings into one's being, one will accomplish both supreme and common attainments. This is the purpose of introduction. In the Five Stages, it says, "If one receives beneficial instructions through the kindness of the lama, even if one thinks one will not be liberated, one will be liberated." As it says in the Heart Essence Tantra, "The Dharmakaya is reached through instructions." So it is. Secondly, regarding the actual introduction, there are three: introducing through the blessing of empowerment, through the shaking of discernment, and through the naked introduction by means of skillful methods. The first is when a teacher who possesses the meaning of Vajra introduces to a student who possesses the qualities, through the door of empowerment that possesses signs, symbols, and meaning, bestowing the four empowerments of elaboration, non-elaboration, and utterly non-elaboration. For example, just as a lamp dispels darkness and illuminates a vase in a dark room, through the power of the lama's blessing, the obscurations are dispelled, and the wisdom of one's own nature becomes manifest. As it says in Ocean of Clear Space, "For example, when losing an object in the dark, groping with one's hands\

Difficult to find. Depending on the bright lamp, There is no doubt that searching will find it. Likewise, in the darkness of ignorance, The Dharma, like a daytime jewel, is lost, Difficult to find with words and terms. Through the kindness of the unerring lama, It will be found through precious symbols. Thus it is said. In the ultimate space: Empowerment depends on symbols, Self-aware clarity recognizes itself. Thus it is said. Second, recognizing through the wisdom of differentiation. There are many ways to differentiate, here there are two: general explanation and specific explanation. First, there are two aspects: the reason for needing to differentiate and the actual method of differentiation. First, in general, if mind and wisdom are not differentiated, one cannot escape from the confused realm of mind. As stated in "Essence Accomplishment": If mind and wisdom are not differentiated, The root of the appearing realm cannot be severed, Even flawless Dharma nature is difficult to realize. Thus it is said. The pure appearance of wisdom is the Body, wisdom is Nirvana. If these two are not differentiated, and the base, path, and fruit are established on the mind, one cannot transcend samsara. Because some aspects of clarity and non-conceptuality become causes of confusion, if one considers these two to be one, it is not differentiating obscurations and the basis of obscurations. It is very important to understand the basis of samsara and nirvana. As stated in "Self-Arisen": Do not desire fruit on the mind, Because there is awareness of wisdom. Thus it is said. Furthermore, as stated in "Definitive Meaning Compilation": Thinking that the mind is Buddha, Is like a widow marrying her son. For example, black coal, Even if the outside is discarded, it will not become white. Thinking that the mind is Buddha, Is like using zinc to imitate gold. Thus it is said. Second, the general explanation is given in three aspects: essence, definition, and classification. The essence of mind is the conceptualization of grasper and grasped, the conceptual thoughts of the three realms, having the root of self-grasping. The essence of wisdom is luminosity, the Tathagatagarbha, free from grasper and grasped. As stated in "Mirror of the Heart": Awareness must be skilled in being free from grasper and grasped. Thus it is said. The definition of mind is that mind is focused on objects, it is conceptual and non-conceptual mind. The definition of wisdom is that it is the awareness that has always been abiding on the basis. As stated in "Intent Compilation": Lord of Lanka, wisdom does not arise from elsewhere, if it arises from elsewhere it is temporary, the so-called wisdom should not be like that.
