Arising from non-reality without cause, and thus, by examining the arising agent of that which has no place of arising, it is decided that there is no essence in anything, and grasping and conceptualization are liberated in their own place. Thus, examining the place of arising and the arising agent, the great experience of being without place and without support is the arising of the realization of the great self-existing Dharmakaya in the continuum. Thus, although all the Great Vehicles agree that there is no birth, it is certain that directly pointing out and recognizing it is a special characteristic of the Great Perfection alone. As it is said in the *Kunjed Gyalpo* (All-Creating King): "The three bodies of the teacher that arise from me, all teach that the nature of mind is unborn, and although all strive for the meaning of no self-nature, there is no realization of the unborn prior to all." And: "The All-Creating Bodhicitta, I, from the unborn, free from grasping and clinging, the Dharmakaya, unborn, arises only in name. Certainly, that Dharmakaya also does not move from suchness." Second, examining the place and the maker of the place: If one holds that there is mind, and thus deceives oneself, then there must be a place where it abides. Therefore, looking at where it is, whether outside, inside, or in between, if it abides outside, then the body will turn into a corpse. If it is inside, then there is no way for it to appear to external objects. Especially, if it is held as a support, how can it be grasped? In particular, if it abides in the upper part of the body, then one will not feel it even if a thorn pricks the lower part. If it abides in the lower part, then the upper part, and all the left and right sides. Furthermore, if one searches one by one, and it seems to be everywhere, then are there as many minds as there are atoms of the body that are to be pervaded, or does one mind run quickly? If it runs quickly, then there must be a place and a way of running, etc. Also, if there is a place, then there must also be a maker of the place. It is impossible not to have a definite acceptance of what kind of appearance it has. In general, one must also determine how it runs or pervades the body, and how it abides in the body during the day and night, and how it abides in the body during the intermediate state and the future life. If one does not determine the place, the cause of abiding, and the way of abiding, but thinks that it abides, then it will always be hidden, and there will be no reason to establish its existence. If one thinks that it can be established if it appears in one's own mind, then just as one thinks and names the mountain of Phari as water, try to see if it goes.

From the Khungchen: From the ground up, desire is impossible in this mind. For whom is it possible to have karmic imprints without a basis? Like a flower in the sky, without a place to be born, without support, similarly, there is no place for the mind in the body, and it is impossible for karmic imprints to have support. Thus, by breaking down the body into indivisible particles, one sees that there is no support to dwell on. The meaning of this is: From the Magical Illusion: Emaho! Wonderful and amazing Dharma! The secret of all perfect Buddhas. Everything dwells from the absence of dwelling. From the very nature of dwelling, there is no dwelling. So it is. Thus, by realizing the way of non-dwelling, the intention of the spontaneously present Sambhogakaya is manifested. Third, examining the place of going and the one who goes: If one thinks that the mind has ceased and no longer exists, then examine the three between the outer and inner, existence and non-existence, directional parts, where the place and mind dissolve, etc. Because it is determined that it is not established anywhere, the intention of the Nirmanakaya, spontaneously accomplished, is manifested. From the Secret Magical Illusion: In the very going and coming, there is no going and coming. And from the Root Wisdom: There is no coming, there is no going. And from Rangshar: The Buddha's intention is self-born, without birth. The great self-born one, without place or going and coming, is the great self-born one because there is no grasping. Know this in the state of mindlessness and awareness. These are also taught as in the Garland: The root of the mind is the expanse of wisdom, the end of ignorance is the continuous stream. In The Ambrosia Gathering Ocean it says: The root of that enemy dies by cutting off the ego. And: When the enemy ego is present, with the wisdom sword of the self-born clear butcher, cut off the head, take out the heart with a vajra hook, and because the life of the ignorant ego is cut off, the root of birth and death is severed and dissolves into the sphere. Thus, having determined it in this way, because one realizes that the apprehended and the apprehender have no place to dwell, it is decided that one has realized the view of the Great Madhyamaka. Nowadays, those who say that searching for the mind is the foolish non-self doctrine of the Nyingma, those who seek faults in the all-knowing Buddha, should be recognized as definitely holding onto the view of self. Why? Because the All-Knowing One says in the Heap of Jewels: Light Protector, what is the medicine that transcends the world? It is the diligence of completely searching for the mind. And so on. In accordance with the texts of the superiors, in the Sutra Requested by Maitreya: The mind is formless.
