Some bestowed empowerment by the power of the sun, moon, and vajra blazing. Some bestowed empowerment by the power of being like a lineage mudra. Some bestowed empowerment by the power of being like a diamond. Some bestowed empowerment purely like Tushita. Some bestowed empowerment purely like Akanishta. Some bestowed empowerment to the place of the essence of enlightenment, Ghana.

Some give empowerment like a palace of power and so on. Some give it like a regent of the Dharma. Some give it like perfect enjoyment. Some give it like the lord of the Dharma. Some give it like the lord of secrets. Lord of Lanka, the meaning of empowerment: Cause and attainment and non-attainment, Place and vessel and distinguishing mark, Seven summarize this meaning. Lord of Lanka, the cause for that is the five great yogas: the yoga of desire, the yoga of distinguishing great kinds, the yoga of giving great breath, the yoga of attaining great scriptures, and the yoga of perfecting great abilities, these should be understood. Lord of Lanka, the measure of attainment is like this: completely understanding the training, seeing suchness, not being timid about any object of knowledge, and being free from any fear. What is non-attainment? It is the arrogant, the uncertain, the one who focuses on the sacred, and the one who does not arise. Lord of Lanka, the place is stupas, images, valid cognition, and certainty. Lord of Lanka, what becomes a vessel? It is what arises in the continuum, the perfection of great abilities, the arising of compassion, and the other becoming independent. Lord of Lanka, the distinction is like this: attainment through ability and attainment through empowerment. Lord of Lanka, attainment through ability is like this: The secret mind of the Buddhas, Having realized it, to whom it is clarified, Is the best of all empowerments, The three realms empower with it. Lord of Lanka, attainment through empowerment is to understand only to whom it is beneficial and who has the ability. Lord of Lanka, the sign is like this: The supreme crown appears, For whom the deity is not established, Spontaneously perfectly accomplished, Limitless rays of light increase. Lord of Lanka, since it is so, therefore those supreme individuals are known as the supreme Dharma kings in the fields of the supreme ones.
