If we hear that we should not fabricate from our own nature, how can we fully understand that? What is nature? How is it unfabricated? Whose nature is it? After asking this, the Lord of Secrets said: O wretched friends, whatever is nature is unchanging. Unfabricated is genuine. These are the nature of mantra, and the nature of observing it, and the nature of not transgressing it, and the nature of acting accordingly. Friends, the nature of mantra here is like this: like the nature of the sky, without conceptualization, not conceptualizing anything. Similarly, like the nature of the earth, it is the nature of producing everything. Like the nature of fire, it makes all things disappear. Like the nature of wind, it removes the moving dust and the non-moving dust. Only the nature of water, without anything else, merges into that suchness. Because it is the nature of medicine, it can eradicate the old diseases of samsara. Like this, because it is the nature of life, it nourishes all pure lives. Like the nature of a knife, it completely cuts off the ocean of suffering. Like the nature of the sun, it illuminates the dark room, and is itself brightness. Like the nature of Mount Meru, it cannot be moved or shaken in any way. Like the nature of the ocean, blessings arise from immovability. Similarly, like the nature of plants, poison can be transformed into medicine in the same way. Like these and so on, immeasurable and supreme, without conceptualization, producing everything. Unfabricated, not false, is just like that. Friends, hearing these, know that these are the nature of mantra, this is a detailed discussion. Friends, what is the nature of observation? It is like this: not mistaken, not changing, definitely certain. Without attachment, without conceptualization, not weak, not timid. For example, from the nature of the sky, clouds and fog, mist and vapor, the moon, sun, stars, etc., although they appear, they still abide in the sky. Similarly, from the sky of suchness, no matter what kind of conceptualizations of signs arise, yogis should see that the nature of reality abides like the sky. As it is, unfabricated, just like that, with the difference of seeing and not seeing, observe the different views separately. For those with conceptualizations, it is conceptualization itself. For those with wrong views, it is wrong conceptualization. For those who cling to one side, it is just nominal entities. For those who understand all sides,

Appears as illusion. That itself is determined there, sees the sky. Residing like the sky, in the sky. It merely appears as the sky itself. Friends, those should be known as the nature of seeing. Thus, having heard, definitely contemplate. Friends, what is the nature of not straying from that? Like this, in such a dharma nature like the sky, Everything is completely one. Protecting and not protecting, free from bias. Where is the measure of protection to be grasped? The yogi who is like the sky, Protects the samaya like the sky. Where there is no boundary to protect, there is happiness. That is protecting everything. Why is everything, all things, Determined to be sacred? Holding on and limited actions are weakened. For whom protecting and not protecting, Even without those discriminations, it is supreme. Such holding onto the boundary of protecting, Is sacred because it is illusory. To that, who says to protect? Protecting and not protecting, there are no words, In that dharma nature, taking and abandoning is done, How does it become sacred? The dharmas of protecting and not protecting, Are placed as they are because they cannot be protected. In the ultimate meaning of suchness, Place the mind as it is. With the unspoken samaya, Undertake without a boundary to protect. This sky-like samaya without protection, On the nature of how it appears, Appear separately as vows and ethics. For worldly people, punishment is strict. For children, knowing behavior. For adults, it is known as vows. For the unsurpassed supreme, it appears as sacred. Although not moving from the meaning of one, On the face of taming, it is called separately. Having suchness is sacred, Going beyond that becomes degenerate. By protecting one, protecting all, This great sacred samaya, Should not be contrary to all, And should become the meaning of what? Friends, those should be known as the nature of not straying, thus having heard, completely contemplate. Alas, friends, what is the nature of acting like that? Like this, the three of body, speech, and mind, When the three extremes are completely pure and perfect, Because it is sacred conduct, Explain the noble sacred lineage without inferiority. The conduct of the vajra body is, Without going, the body is not corrected. Because it is solitary, it dwells in one. Just like the posture of an elephant, Likewise, truly abide. By abiding where, constantly
