Recitation and ascertainment. Lord of Lanka, for example, taking the simile of the Dharma of space as a close example, just as space is, so too, by whatever one ascertains, one should see it as such. Lord of Lanka, what is space? For example, it is of one nature, unpolluted, enlightening, unborn, undying, formless, colorless, unconditioned, ungraspable, unseizable, boundless, centerless, without increase, without decrease, without going, without coming, without moving, without shaking, without formation, without abiding, without destruction, not empty, unchanging, not unpervading, not unarising, not uncomprehending, without weariness, without disappearance, without characteristics, without cause, without condition, without result, without effort, and without manifestation. Lord of Lanka, space is not transformed from existence to non-existence, nor is it transformed from non-existence to existence. Likewise, it is not transformed from clarity to unclearness, nor from unclearness to clarity, nor from otherness to oneness, nor from oneness to otherness, nor from being to non-being, nor from non-being to being, nor from nearness to distance, nor from distance to nearness. Likewise, not transformed from large to small, nor from good to bad, nor from pleasure to suffering, nor from pervasive to non-pervasive, nor from arising to non-arising, nor from pure to impure, nor from accomplished to unaccomplished, nor from high to low, nor from wide to narrow, nor from form to formless, nor from color to colorless, nor from outer to inner, nor from birth to cessation, nor from moving to unmoving, nor from changing to unchanging, nor from darkness to light, nor from former to latter, nor from edge to center, nor from self to other, likewise, not transformed from taking to abandoning, nor from abandoning to

Because it is undisturbed, space is unconditioned from all to all. Likewise, this too should be combined, therefore it is unconditioned. Lord of Lanka, it is like this, for example, space is not made by anyone, there is no maker, it does not arise from a cause, it is not produced from a condition, it is not born in the beginning, it will not be destroyed in the end, the beginning and the end are not visible, there is no attainment and non-attainment, no hope and no effort. Therefore, space is not made by anyone, and because it is not made, there is no antidote. Likewise, that itself is also because there is no maker, so because it is not made, there is no antidote. Lord of Lanka, it is like this, whoever seeks the edge of space, seeking will not find it, whoever knows that there is an opportunity, that is finding space. Investigating the nature of mind, because there is no root, it is not found. Whoever knows the arising without a basis, that is finding the nature of mind. The mind seeks the mind but does not find the mind, who seeks the deep root of the mind, who separates the middle and the edge of the mind, how can seeking find it? How does the mind represent the mind? Does one say that the mind has things? Who makes the things of the mind? Non-things, things transformed into Bodhicitta, who is the great one without direction? Separating from one direction separates from all directions. Transcending the object of examination, if one realizes that itself, that is it. The mind seeks the mind and finds a warmth, if one finds that warmth, it is Bodhicitta. Whatever it is, whatever it may be, that is the supreme meaning of the Dharma. Therefore, this nature of Samsara is not twofold, the suchness of Samsara is indicated in the scriptures as the nature of Dharma. The illusion of delusion in Samsara and the two illusions of pure and completely pure, although sentient beings and Buddhas are different, they do not arise from suchness. For example, cloth from one material, after being transformed by the condition of color, although the colors are various and different, how can they not arise from the cloth itself? The ripening of wrong thoughts and correct thoughts, these sentient beings and those with wisdom, after being transformed from one cause by a condition, appear as two: knowledge and ignorance. The suffering of Samsara is like a dream, like waking up from a dream after a great breath, all is great bliss, Bodhicitta, appearing as pervasive and vast like space. Examining what is said to be accidental
