The Naga king with supernatural powers, attended by limitless servants, like the ocean and clouds, arranging a glorious mandala, like an umbrella, prayed: World Honored One, in the future time, in the future age, when there is no rain in this Jambudvipa, what should be said to make great rain fall continuously? In times of displeasure, in times of calamity, in times of strife among people due to non-dharma, in times of plague and calamity, in times of disease and death, in times of inauspicious stars, all plagues and harms can be pacified. Please explain the root of such a dharani's secret mantra. Please bless with the blessing of the Buddha. Whoever can urge all nagas, can make all the gods rejoice, can subdue all demons, can make all the fears of sentient beings disappear, can turn back all harms, can make peace and happiness, can pacify what is done by inauspicious stars, the five obstacles to rain spoken by the World Honored One, can eliminate all of them, can make Jambudvipa rain well, such a dharani's secret mantra's root, World Honored One, you are full of great compassion, loving and benefiting all sentient beings, please explain. World Honored One, Tathagata, I pray to you! After praying like this, the World Honored One said to the Naga king, attended by limitless servants, like the ocean and clouds, arranging a glorious mandala, like an umbrella: Naga king, it is very good that you pray to the Tathagata for the benefit of all sentient beings, for the sake of benefit and happiness! Naga king, therefore, listen well and remember well, arising from the heart of great compassion, having the sound of a great dragon, the dharani called 'Increasing Mighty Crest', for the benefit of all sentient beings, for the sake of benefit and happiness, spoken by all Buddhas, blessing.
