The vase and those secret ones shall not depart from this place. Then, the vidyadhara sits in the center of the mandala, and by reciting seven times over a twig of a Nepalese apple tree, the nagas will be averted. But it should not be averted with great wrath. The mudra of the naga's lotus posture should be bound: the two index fingers are like the supports of the head, and the two little fingers are extended. This is the mudra of all nagas. As soon as it is spoken, it will harm the hearts of all nagas. If you want to make that direction unfavorable for the nagas, then gravel will fall on their heads. From head to tail, as much as the body is, so much will a rain of swords fall on the body. Then, all the nagas will be in a state of fear. At that time, in Jambudvipa, rain will fall regularly. All untamed nagas will be brought under control. Make a square mandala on the roof, scatter it with flowers, fumigate it with incense, and recite seven times over all the vases filled with water. Recite twenty-one times over a senge deng (Acacia catechu) stake, and if the senge deng stake is inserted into the center of the mandala, all the harms of wind, clouds, hail, and frost will be bound. It will be effective until the stake is pulled out. Recite seven times over mustard seeds, and looking at the clouds, scatter them, and all the hail will cease. Recite twenty-one times over a twig of a karavira tree, and if it is made into a ring, hail will be stopped everywhere. Recite twenty-one times over a red karavara tree flower, and when lightning arises, if it is thrown into the sky, it will remain in the sky and be bound. Recite seven times over water, and if it is scattered, it will be liberated. When thunder roars, recite twenty-one times over a trident, and if it is inserted into the center of the mandala, until the trident is pulled out, the thunder will roar and the clouds will be bound. Recite the syllable "ya" eight times. Draw a Garuda on it with saffron, and as it is rotated, the wings of the Garuda descend upon the body of the nagas. All the nagas become frightened and flee in ten directions, and afterwards they cannot send down wind and hail. Mix the flowers of the karavira tree and mustard seeds, and burn them sixty times in the mandala. All the nagas will generate the power of cold, and will be able to withstand hail and snow. When rain is needed, it will rain. Make an image of a five-headed naga, four fingers in length, out of beeswax. Cover it with gold and cover it with a white cloth. Recite the root mantra a thousand times. Place it in a new, unused vase, and wrap the body with cloth. Seal it.
