Therefore, for that reason, the Blessed One was asked to speak well and extensively about the vows, mandala rituals, secrets, hand seal chapters, silk patchwork double panels, and the rituals with implements of this great king of detailed rituals. Then, the assembled retinues of gods, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, mahoragas, humans, and non-humans were amazed and delighted, and all prostrated to the Blessed One, gazed upon the face of the Blessed One, and remained seated. Then, after hearing this true and accurate request and supplication from the Blessed One, he extensively taught this detailed ritual of the vidya-mantra. The chapter of request, which is the first ritual. The noble great jewel, the vast palace, the supremely well-established secret, the king of detailed rituals of the secret essence. Volume Two. Then, the king of detailed rituals, which eliminates all sins, the vidya-mantra that makes the body free from defilements, the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment of the Buddha, is well spoken. Then, when the Blessed One taught this secret essence of the great jewel, the vast palace, the supremely well-established secret, this great earth shook in six ways. A great rain of jewels fell. A great rain of flowers fell. All the retinues also gathered, and all uttered the sounds of "ca ca" and "ga zha," and all remained in the ten bhumis, and all were endowed with virtuous dharma. Then, all the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, gave praise to Shakyamuni, saying, "Well done, Shakyamuni, when you go to the heart of bodhi, it is well done, well done that you have spoken such a dharani. Merely hearing it for a moment, all sins and evil destinies will be destroyed. By remembering this dharani, it is like offering all the Tathagatas the clothes of the gods, incense, flowers, fragrances, garlands, and ointments.

With what shall one make offerings? Merely reciting it, in an instant, one becomes irreversible, realizes the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, and becomes a Buddha. All the Tathagatas accumulate merit, which cannot be fully described even in a kalpa, or a hundred kalpas, or a thousand kalpas, or a hundred thousand kalpas. Thus, this dharani is of great benefit. All the gods of the retinue of demons cannot create obstacles. It is not done by obstructing spirits, not done by opponents, not done by unfriendly beings, not done by the elements, not done by evil spirits, not done by yakshas, not done by rakshasas. Neither humans nor non-humans can find an opportunity. Their roots of virtue will greatly increase. Even just remembering it once brings about so many benefits and advantages, what need is there to mention doing much more? Then, the great commander of the yaksha hosts, Vajrapani, and the four great kings went to where the Bhagavan was, made offerings to the Bhagavan, and spoke thus: "Bhagavan, we will protect those sentient beings, completely guard them, gladden them, and constantly, without interruption, protect, rescue, and conceal them." Then, the Bhagavan extended his golden-colored hand, placed it on the head of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Vajrapani, and said to those four great kings: "I entrust this dharani to you, and I also entrust those sentient beings to you." "Bhagavan, for the sake of protecting this king of detailed rituals and all sentient beings, we will completely uphold it." Then, the Bhagavan spoke the essence of the dharani: Om Mani Vajre Hum (藏文：ཨོྃ་མ་ཎི་བཛྲེ་ཧཱུྃ།，梵文天城体：，梵文罗马拟音：oṃ maṇi vajre hūṃ，汉语字面意思：Om, Mani, Vajra, Hum). This is the heart mantra. Om Mani Dhari Hum Phat (藏文：ཨོྃ་མ་ཎི་དྷ་རི་ཧཱུྃ་ཕཊ།，梵文天城体：，梵文罗马拟音：oṃ maṇi dhāri hūṃ phaṭ，汉语字面意思：Om, Mani, Dhari, Hum, Phat). This is the near-heart mantra. The ritual of the root vidya mantra does not require choosing a date, observing the stars, nor fasting. At the image of the Tathagata or at a stupa containing relics, simply recite it one hundred thousand times. On the full moon day of the fifteenth, bathe thoroughly, wear clean clothes, and at the stupa containing relics, make offerings according to your means.
