Attachment to the extreme as ultimate arises, always with a mind determined in the Dharma, discerning the nature of beings as they are, karma and pure worlds and realms, maturation and retinue and nirvana, the Victorious One's child knows the distinctions of these. That one is said to be a Bodhisattva who has generated the thought [of enlightenment]. The omniscient ones, the past and the present, and even the future, having discerned all the dharmas, accomplishment and whatever good birth is ultimate, and how the accomplishment of the self-born ones is, all those noble Buddhas know that they have entered into the equality of the three times. They never make distinctions in equality, that one enters the three times without difference. Whatever benefits have such qualities, that is the fourth Bodhisattva. Having well accomplished these, that Bodhisattva will definitely arise for the sake of enlightenment. Thus, the fifth Bodhisattva is said to be the perfection of application. Following the skillful means, he accomplishes the ultimate by undertaking pure virtuous actions. Thus, no matter how much virtue is done, it becomes the support of all the worlds, and one who desires benefit and obtains happiness, loving-kindness, and one who liberates beings. For the sake of taming those who harm the world, he leads and rejoices greatly. He desires to tame all the many sentient beings, and the power of the mind of nirvana is also great. All the worlds are without end, likewise immeasurable and countless, incomparable, inconceivable, unequaled, measureless, and he knows the nature of emptiness, immovability, and non-existence. That is the fifth Bodhisattva, the perfection of application, endowed with benefit and loving-kindness. Such is the teaching about him, taught by all those endowed with qualities. He is not ignorant of all the infinite sentient beings and the nature of the Dharma. Extremely intelligent, free from concepts, without conceptualization, he is not distinguished by the world with its gods. Buddha, Dharma, and Bodhisattvas, praise and non-praise of conduct, whether beings are small or large, even if heard, he is not moved by thought. Whether beings are afflicted or pure, easy to tame or difficult to tame, Dharma.
