Yogurt, milk, rice, barley, wine, Flowers, fruits, roots, Or even accomplished substances, If one obtains them in dreams, Or sees such appearances, It is said that the mantra will be accomplished, Therefore, those with wisdom, Should begin the practices of recitation or accomplishment. If one obtains the treasure of mantras, Or the substances of accomplishment, Then one should quickly begin, The practices of recitation or accomplishment. If one sees oneself, Adorned with clothes, bathing, and ornaments, At that time, one should diligently begin, The practices of recitation or accomplishment. Properly offering to one's own vidyā-mantra, And then with the family deity, With a hundred fresh flowers, And two bundles of silk threads, make offerings. With sandalwood incense, After fumigating eight times a day, Then the deity will in dreams, Give answers as appropriate. The image of Uśīra, Place in an earthen vessel from an anthill, Offering and completely satisfying it, Manifestly praise it eight times. Place it in milk, Or in honey, Offer well during the three times, And also pray in the evening. Even through these methods, If complete joy arises, Then whether to do or not to do, The deity will give answers. Fast and at the desired time, Offer the vidyā-mantra according to the ritual, With seven different types of water, And five types of tree essence, Perform one hundred and eight fire offerings, Or through the number of recitations, If done, the vidyā-mantra itself, Will quickly give answers. Thus, the wise one abides in the preparatory place, Surely and quickly it will be accomplished. This ritual of abiding in the preparatory place, Is a vast proclamation.
