Ya. Āvarte. Jvala jvala. Sarva nāga hṛdayāni. Kimi kimi. Nāga kula vidhva ndhani. Hana hana. Sarva nāga duṣṭāṃ hṛdayāni. Hana hana. Sarva duṣṭāṃ nāga bhava nani. Paca paca pacaya. Sarva duṣṭāṃ nāgā nām. Akṛma akṛma samudra sāgara. Bimale. Bikrame mahā nāga gate. Japare svāhā. As soon as the Blessed One spoke these words of the essence dharani mantra, all those nāgas trembled, their bodies decayed, and they became foul-smelling. Like a blazing fire, smoke billowed from their bodies, and they writhed. All of them cried out loudly to the Blessed One, and all of them entreated the Blessed One, saying: Blessed One, you have spoken a very terrible mantra, please grant us your command. Blessed One, the hearts of all of us will no longer waver. Blessed One, all of us are cursed and have become inauspicious. Blessed One, from now on we will be harmonious. Blessed One, we will make a vow before you. Blessed One, as long as we dwell in the nāga realm, Blessed One, we will never harm beings in Jambudvipa. We will not do inauspicious things. We will make all the flowers, branches, fruits, and crops flourish. We will make the rain fall at the right times. We will bring happiness and joy. We will make all the crops, flowers, and fruits ripen. We will uphold the teachings of the Tathāgata. We will abide by the oath of truth. We will cherish all beings as if they were our only child. Blessed One, in whatever direction this vidyā queen is practiced, Blessed One, we will be harmonious there. Blessed One, just by remembering this vidyā king, all of us will make the rain fall in due time. Just by remembering, we can also prevent excessive rainfall. Blessed One, we will not deviate from your teachings. Blessed One, please grant us again the mantra words to subdue the nāgas. Then, all those nāga kings touched the feet of the Blessed One and said: Tadyathā. Oṃ cata cata bicata. Śata śata. Paca.
