That which can suppress. These mudras I have declared. Then, those hosts of gods, as well as bhutas and flesh-eaters, likewise the rakshasas were terrified, looking at each other, bowing with their heads. The one holding the vajra (Vajrapani) bowed and spoke these words: From the host of extremely terrifying mudras, I pray that the Lord of Secrets (Vajrapani) protect us. Then, the great king of vidyas, Vajrapani, said to those gods: Do not fear, do not fear, you who have patience. The possessor, the all-powerful one of all vidyas, the one with the armor of eighteen mudras, the supreme one who is seen together with the messenger woman, the lord surrounded by all vidyas, please remember the king of vidyas. Please remember the seat accomplished by the Bhagavati Mother, and what is said from the essence of all vidyas. By remembering these, there is no fear, and one can secretly see with the mudras. To the demons with various forms of behavior, whatever vajra mudra is applied, the demons will scatter in all directions. Please also show the ritual of the mudra. Then, those hosts of gods said to Vajrapani: Bhagavan, wherever only the names of these mudras exist, even within five yojanas, we will not reside. Those with patience, it is so, it is so. I am also the mudra surrounded by vidyas, wherever it exists, I will reside there. For the demons, the characteristics of the mudra should always be shown. For all demons, also with the iron hook mother spoken of by the vajra, bind them with the mudra of the vajra iron hook mother. Therefore, I will declare the signs and characteristics of the mudras: With the thumb of the right hand pressing down on the nails of all the fingers, clenching the fist and extending the index finger like a vajra, this is the mudra of the Victorious One. Also extend the middle finger, separating the fingers by about one finger's width, this is the mudra of the Extremely Victorious One. Extend it together with the ring finger, separating those fingers by about two fingers' width, this is the mudra of the Vajra Name. From that same mudra, release the fingers and place it in the center of the chest, this is the mudra of the Vajra Symbol. From the palms of the hands in the gesture of prostration, insert the fingers between the fingers, join the backs of the hands tightly, place the middle finger and little finger together, and place it on the

That which is placed in my center is auspicious. That which is held in the navel is extremely auspicious. From the palms of the hands in prayer, make a shape like a lotus bud, and join the two middle fingers, leaving the rest slightly apart, this is the lotus mudra. From that, join the thumb and little finger, leaving the rest apart, this is the lotus garland mudra. With both hands upturned, intertwine the index and ring fingers, bend the two thumbs into the palms, and bend the remaining fingers into the depths of the palms like rings, each in the same way, this is the Yungdrung (swastika) pattern mudra. Intertwine the fingers, clench the fists, join the wrists together, raise and align the middle fingers, extend the two index fingers without bending them inwards, nor tilting them outwards, but raise them normally, and tuck the two thumbs inwards, this is the three-pointed spear mudra. From the palms of the hands in prayer, intertwine the ring fingers like a string of beads, press the thumbnails of the ring fingers with the thumbs, and place the index fingers, middle fingers, and little fingers together, making a space of about two finger-widths between those fingers, making it hollow in the middle, this is the vajra mudra. From the palms of the hands in prayer, intertwine the fingers inwards and clench the fists, extend the middle finger of the right hand upwards, and place it extended in the shape of a stupa, this is the tooth mudra. From the palms of the hands in prayer, intertwine the fingers outwards, clench the fists, place the fingers on the back of the hands, align the two wrists, join one to the other, bring the backs of the hands together, and extend and align the middle fingers, this is the short spear mudra. Intertwine them crosswise, and connect the thumbs and little fingers of both hands like a string of beads, and make the remaining fingers like the characteristics of a vajra, like the raised crest of a dragon's head, making an appropriate space between them, this is the dragon hand mudra. Press the thumbnails of the little fingers with the thumbs of both hands, make a shape like the eye of a noose, and turn the left hand upwards, cover it with the right hand and join them together, so that the surfaces of the fingers touch each other well, this is the noose mudra. Intertwine the fingers inwards, and join the elbows of both hands together, the two middle fingers
