此之威力广大，世寿具足阿难陀，世尊告曰：阿难陀，无论何处发生瘟疫，彼处若国王以正法护国且广大，行持清净，则众生不妄杀生。当忍受所犯之过。彼国王当身心俱勤，若能于七日内诵念大悲自性之心髓，则彼处所发生之一切瘟疫皆得平息。一切庄稼亦将丰收。一切众生皆得安乐。若有各方之敌经常来犯，损害住于国土之众生，民众不悦，彼处发生疾病，雨水不按时降落，日月运行不循正道，若发生如是罪恶之事，则彼国王当塑造千手千眼观世音自在之像，于发生瘟疫之处，单独面向而立。以极大之信心，以熏香、鲜花、伞盖、胜幢、各种天幡、百味饮食供养之。其后，彼国王为念诵此心髓之故，若能于七日内坚定精进，则各方之敌皆将向其顶礼。各自喜悦于自己之国土。心生和睦。互相成为朋友。一切民众与王子亦将知恩图报，行持善良。国王后妃眷属亦将对其生起欢喜。天与龙亦将守护国土。雨水亦将按时降落。果实与庄稼亦将增多且成熟。住于国土之众生亦将生起安乐与悦意。若一户人家中发生疾病与各种损害，或有邪魔与邪恶鬼神居住而扰乱、谩骂、诽谤或造成损害，或发生大小内外之不和，彼时，千手千眼观世音自在之

The great power of this, the long-lived Ananda, was spoken by the Blessed One. Ananda, wherever there is an outbreak of plague, if in that place the king protects the country with the Dharma and is vast, and acts purely, then sentient beings will not be killed wantonly. Those who have committed offenses should be patient. That king should be diligent in body and mind, and if he recites this essence of the nature of great compassion for seven days, then all the plagues that occur in that country will be pacified. All crops will also be abundant. All sentient beings will be happy. If enemies from various regions come regularly and harm the sentient beings living in the country, and the people are unhappy, and there is disease, and the water does not fall in season, and the moon and sun do not go in a straight path, and if such evil deeds occur, then that king should make an image of Avalokiteshvara with a thousand hands and a thousand eyes, and place it separately facing the place where the plague has occurred. With great faith, offer incense, flowers, umbrellas, victory banners, various heavenly banners, and hundreds of flavors of food. Then, for the sake of reciting this essence, if that king remains steadfast in diligence for seven days, then all the enemies from various regions will bow down to him. They will be happy in their own countries. They will be of one mind. They will become friends with each other. All the people and princes will also be grateful and do good. The king's consorts and retinue will also generate joy for him. The gods and nagas will also protect the country. The rain will also fall in season. The fruits and crops will also be abundant and ripen. Those who live in the country will also have happiness and joy. If there is disease and various harms in one household, or if demons and evil spirits live there and cause disturbances, curses, slanders, or harms, or if there is great or small internal or external discord, then at that time, the thousand-handed and thousand-eyed Avalokiteshvara's

在坟墓前供养，以极大的虔诚念诵此心咒一千遍，则上述的那些损害将会平息。然后，具寿阿难陀对世尊说道：尊者世尊，这个心咒叫什么名字？如何受持？如何忆持？阿难陀，这个心咒有很多名字，一个叫做“广大无垢圆满”。也叫做“大悲无碍”。也叫做“从痛苦中完全救护”。也叫做“增长寿命”。也叫做“摧毁恶趣之路”。也叫做“摧毁业障”。也叫做“圆满愿望”。也叫做“随顺心意自在”。也叫做“迅速证悟更高境界”。阿难陀，就这样受持吧。然后，具寿阿难陀对世尊说道：尊者世尊，宣说此正直心咒的菩萨摩诃萨叫什么名字？世尊说道：这位菩萨摩诃萨名为观世音自在。也叫做持经者。也叫做具有光芒、眼睛和千手者。这位菩萨摩诃萨观世音自在的神通威力是不可估量、不可思议的。此尊在过去无数劫之前，已经现证圆满正等觉成佛，名为法显世间如来。由于大悲心和愿力的缘故，为了利益众生和安乐，才显现为菩萨之身。诸位菩萨们，以及娑婆世界的梵天，帝释天，龙族眷属和你们大家，都应当供养他！不要轻蔑他！天人和所有人都应当恒常供养他！也应当称念他的名号，这样会生起善根，并且也能净除诸多罪业。身体坏灭死亡之后，将会成为如来。

Having made offerings at the tomb, and reciting this essence mantra a thousand times with great devotion, those harms mentioned above will be pacified. Then, the venerable Ananda said to the Blessed One: Venerable Blessed One, what is the name of this essence mantra? How should it be received? How should it be remembered? Ananda, this essence mantra has many names. One is called "Vast, Immaculate, and Complete." It is also called "Great Compassion Without Obstruction." It is also called "Completely Saving from Suffering." It is also called "Increasing Life." It is also called "Destroying the Path of Evil Destinies." It is also called "Destroying Karmic Obscurations." It is also called "Fulfilling Wishes." It is also called "Controlling in Accordance with the Mind." It is also called "Quickly Realizing Higher States." Ananda, receive it in this way. Then, the venerable Ananda said to the Blessed One: Venerable Blessed One, what is the name of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva who teaches this straightforward essence mantra? The Blessed One said: This Bodhisattva Mahasattva is named Avalokiteśvara the自在. It is also called the Holder of Sutras. It is also called the One with Light Rays, Eyes, and a Thousand Hands. The miraculous power of this Bodhisattva Mahasattva Avalokiteśvara is immeasurable and inconceivable. This one, in the past, countless eons ago, had already manifested complete perfect enlightenment and became a Buddha named Dharma Manifestation World Tathagata. Due to great compassion and the power of aspiration, for the benefit and happiness of sentient beings, he appears here in the form of a Bodhisattva. You Bodhisattvas, and Brahma, the lord of the Saha world, Indra, the lord of the gods, the retinue of nagas, and all of you, should make offerings to him! Do not despise him! Gods and all humans should always make offerings to him! Also, recite his name, and roots of virtue will arise, and many sins will also be purified. After the body is destroyed and death occurs, one will become a Tathagata.

现在将会在无量佛的净土世界极乐世界受生。之后，世尊对具寿阿难如此说道：谁想要珠宝、果实、珍宝和用具，就应当注视着手持如意宝珠珍宝的手。谁被各种疾病折磨，想要无病，就应当注视着手持不空绢索的手。谁肚子饿，就应当注视着手持珍宝钵的手并思念。谁想要调伏鬼神和作祟之神等，就应当注视着手持珍宝宝剑的手。谁想要自在降伏魔，就应当注视着手持金刚杵的手。谁想要摧毁敌人，就应当注视着手持金刚杵的杵的手。谁在一切处都感到恐惧，没有获得安乐，就应当注视着施无畏的手。谁眼睛疼痛，视力衰退，就应当注视着手持珍宝宝珠火镜的手。谁被热病折磨，或者喝了毒药，就应当注视着手持珍宝宝珠水镜的手。谁想要拥有主人、财富和地位，就应当思念手持珍宝弓的手。谁想要迅速见到心爱的朋友，就应当专注于手持珍宝箭的手。谁的身体被各种疾病折磨，就应当注视着手持花穗的手。谁想要让身体上由业障引起的罪恶都消除，就应当注视着手持白色拂尘的手。谁想要与亲戚、眷属、子女和妻子等心意相合，就应当注视着手持宝瓶的手。谁想要避开老虎、狼和凶猛的野兽，就应当注视着手持盾牌的手。谁想要完全避开各方自在者们的窥视，就应当注视着手持钺斧的手。谁，孩童……

Now, one will take birth in the Pure Land of immeasurable Buddhas, the realm of Sukhavati. Then, the Blessed One spoke thus to the venerable Ananda: Whoever desires jewels, fruits, precious gems, and utensils should gaze upon the hand holding the wish-fulfilling jewel. Whoever is afflicted by various diseases and desires to be free from illness should gaze upon the hand holding the unfailing lasso.
