If the hero, the noble Avalokiteśvara, resides in that mandala, then all karmic obscurations and non-virtues, such as the five heinous crimes, will be eliminated. The actions of body, speech, and mind will also be completely purified. One will also obtain the power of the Buddha's samadhi. One will also obtain the power of empowerment by rays of light. One will also completely perfect the bhumis and pāramitās. If one wishes to cause rain to fall, one should look up at the sky and recite the mantra twenty-one times, and rain will fall. If one looks at the ground and recites the mantra, all seeds will become a hundredfold abundant. If one recites it at the site of a dried-up riverbed, or a great river, or the source of a river, or a lake, or a small lake, or the edge of a puddle, all the water will become complete. For the sake of all illnesses, if one recites the mantra and rubs with one's hand, one will be healed. If one recites it in front of a person who has lost their memory, they will regain their memory. If one looks at the face of a person afflicted by hunger or thirst and recites it, their hunger or thirst will be pacified. If one wishes to establish a boundary, one should enter a small lake, and there, write this mantra in letters and attach it to the top of a victory banner, and a boundary of one hundred yojanas will be established, and no harm will occur there. The protection of all places is complete. Now, I will speak about the mudra for gathering all the body. Stand upright with the body straight. Place the feet close together and aligned. Slightly bend the right leg. Extend the left hand downwards. Bend the middle finger and ring finger into the palm. Extend the index finger, thumb, and little finger, and place the palm facing outwards. Do the same with the right hand. Bend the middle fingers of both hands and place the hands level with the shoulders. Place the palms facing forward. This is the first mudra for gathering the body. If someone wishes to defeat demons, other heretics, and enemies, and wishes to abide in the first path, they should bind this mudra and recite this mantra twenty-one times. Namo Ratna Trayāya! Namo Ārya Avalokiteśvarāya! Bodhisattva!

Ya! Mahasattvaya! Mahakarunikaya! Tadyatha. Avatta, avatte parivatte, eheyehi svaha! The hand seal mentioned earlier, keep the body in that position, join the palms at the heart. All fingers should be crossed straight with each other, the fingers of the left hand should embrace the fingers of the right hand. Raise the two index fingers upwards and join the tips. The two thumbs should touch the first joint of the two index fingers. The palms should not be stuck together. This is the hand seal of all dharanis, the second one. All the karmic obscurations and all the non-virtues accumulated over many kalpas and lifetimes will be purified. The next life will be transformed. When the Buddha Shakyamuni began to attain enlightenment, the demons came to obstruct him, and he subdued them with this hand seal. At that time, he also attained the peace of tranquility, meditation, and samadhi. This dharani mantra should also be recited. Tadyatha. Sarva dharani, mandalaya, eheyehi paramashuddha sattvaya svaha!
