It should be placed on the ground. The moment it is placed, the tongue will become as soft as a lotus petal, and the mouth will emit the fragrance of a blue lotus. The voice will become melodious and gentle, soft and deep, and the words will become pure and undefiled. It will produce the sound of a Kinnara, a beautiful and pleasant sound, a gentle tone, a delightful sound, and will transform into the voice of a Kalaviṅka bird. If one remembers it three times during the three times of the day, then all secret mantras, subtle rituals, mandalas, sequentially arranged mudras, all rituals, and the common accomplishments of all Tathagata families will be perfected and practiced. One will be free from all hateful fears of obstacles, wrong views, demons, and so on. One will be free from past obscurations and all sins that lead to hell. By merely remembering three times the essence of the noble Avalokiteśvara, the great king of vidyā-mantras, the meaningful iron hook, in that very instant, oneself, one's dwelling house, disciples, offerings, and retinue, even if impure, will become pure. What is completely impure will become extremely pure. What is stained will become extremely unstained. What is filled with hatred will be free from hatred. What is filled with ignorance will be free from ignorance. What is filled with desire will be free from desire. What is filled with obscurations will be free from obscurations. Those who are afflicted by obstacles, possessed by demons and wrong views, will be free from obstacles, wrong views, demons, and so on. The sins of the mind will be free from sin. What is uncommon will become common and protected. Even without the vow of silence, one will possess the great vow of silence. Even without fasting, it will be as if one has fasted. In all places, regions, and mandalas of vidyā-mantras, even if one does not practice celibacy, one will be transformed into great celibacy. One will abide in the great realm of Brahma. Even if one does not practice virtue, one will possess great virtue. Dharma.
