Even if one desires a son, it will be accomplished. Conception in the womb becomes sacred. Birth in the womb will be peaceful, and birth from the womb will be peaceful. Birth in the womb will be timely, and birth will be perfectly timely. How is it manifested? Great Brahmin, listen to this as before. In this very land of Magadha, a king named Laghubāhu was without a son. Why was he called Laghubāhu? Because as soon as the king was born, he stretched out his hand and grasped his mother's breast, and drank the milk to his fill. As soon as he touched those two breasts, they turned golden in color. The milk always increased. Therefore, he was named King Laghubāhu. Furthermore, whenever beggars came to the king's presence, the king would stretch his right hand into the sky, and because the king was a Bodhisattva, the gods, with their extraordinary divine jewels, gold, and gems, would fill his hand with great faith in the Buddha. The king would also generously give to the beggars who came. With just a thought, he would grant all the beggars all the perfect happiness they desired. Because he desired a son, he made offerings and great feasts to the gods, but still did not find a son, so he began to make feasts before the stupas of the Tathagatas of the past, making offerings and great feasts. He also gave alms, observed vows, accumulated great merit, and gave those great alms without reservation. Why is that? Great Brahmin, in the past in this very land of Magadha, in the city called Gya.yul, in the great market of Kuśā, there lived a merchant named Dharmamati, who had entered the teachings of the Blessed One Ratnacandra, a great being who was devoted to the Dharma. He closely placed the mind of great compassion on all beings, and from this great wisdom, he separately followed and taught the Dharma.
