Therefore, all the immeasurable and limitless dharmas of all Buddhas are shown in many distinct ways. Son of good family, just as, relying on the mind of conceptualization, it shows many kinds of afflictions, many kinds of actions, and many kinds of results, similarly, relying on the dharmata of dharma and the wisdom of suchness, it shows various kinds of Buddha dharma, various kinds of Pratyekabuddha dharma, and many kinds of Shravaka dharma. Relying on the suchness of dharma and the wisdom of suchness, obtaining the perfect mastery over the dharma of all Buddhas is a noble thing that is difficult to measure. For example, drawing a picture in the sky and using it as an ornament is difficult to measure. Similarly, relying on the true dharma and true wisdom, accomplishing the dharmas of the Buddhas is also difficult to measure. Son of good family, how is it that the suchness of dharma and the wisdom of suchness have no conceptualization and have attained mastery over activity? Son of good family, for example, although the Tathagata has passed into nirvana, he still performs all kinds of activities because he has attained mastery over aspiration. Similarly, he also has mastery over accomplishing all purposes through suchness and the wisdom of suchness. Furthermore, just as a Bodhisattva Mahasattva arises from that samadhi due to the power of previous aspirations when he is evenly absorbed in samadhi, and performs all purposes and activities, so too, these two dharmas, without conceptualization, have mastery over accomplishing all purposes. Son of good family, for example, the sun and the moon also have no conceptualization, water and mirrors also have no conceptualization, and light also has no conceptualization, but when the three come together, an image arises. Similarly, the suchness of dharma and the wisdom of suchness also have no conceptualization, but due to the power of aspiration, the Sambhogakaya and Nirmanakaya for fortunate sentient beings arise from the aggregation of causes and conditions, like the images of the sun and moon. Son of good family, furthermore, for example, countless and immeasurable water and mirrors rely on light, and

Fifth, various different images appear. What is called emptiness is the absence of characteristics. Son of good family, similarly, the Sambhogakaya and Nirmanakaya appear through the power of aspiration, showing the image of the Dharmakaya to the retinue. Although various characteristics appear, in the realm of the Dharmakaya there are no different characteristics. Son of good family, abiding in these two kayas, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, are said to have Nirvana with remainder. From the perspective of the Dharmakaya, it is said to be Nirvana without remainder. Why is that? Because there, all dharmas have reached their end. Relying on these three kayas, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, are said to abide in non-abiding Nirvana. The two kayas are not said to be Nirvana, because there is no Buddha apart from the Dharmakaya. Why are these two kayas not called Nirvana? Because these two kayas are not real, they are merely imputed, arising and ceasing in an instant, not permanent, and appearing again and again, they are uncertain, but the Dharmakaya is not like that. Second chapter. Therefore, these two kayas are not called Nirvana. The Dharmakaya is also not separate from them, therefore it is not abiding in Nirvana. Relying on these three kayas, because of non-abiding, it is said to be Nirvana. Son of good family, for this reason, ordinary beings are bound by the three natures and have obscurations, therefore they are far from the three kayas. What are the three? The nature of complete imputation, the nature of dependence on others, and the nature of perfect accomplishment. Because these natures are not known, abandoned, and purified, therefore the three kayas are not attained. When these three natures are known, abandoned, and completely purified, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, completely perfect the three kayas. Son of good family, ordinary beings are far from the three kayas because they have not abandoned the three consciousnesses. What are the three? The consciousness that clings to objects and the consciousness that abides in the alaya.
