Because of eliminating that and becoming peaceful, it is called complete nirvana. Second, the Tathagata has completely understood that there is no self or what belongs to self in discipline and the fruit of discipline, therefore, regarding discipline and the fruit of discipline, because of completely eliminating wrong views and becoming peaceful, it is called complete nirvana. Third, the Tathagata has completely understood that there is no self or what belongs to self in patience and the fruit of patience, therefore, regarding patience and the fruit of patience, because of completely eliminating wrong views and becoming peaceful, it is called complete nirvana. Fourth, the Tathagata has completely understood that there is no self or what belongs to self in diligence and the fruit of diligence, therefore, regarding diligence and the fruit of diligence, because of completely eliminating wrong views and becoming peaceful, it is called complete nirvana. Fifth, the Tathagata has completely understood that there is no self or what belongs to self in meditation and the fruit of meditation, therefore, regarding meditation and the fruit of meditation, because of completely eliminating wrong views and becoming peaceful, it is called complete nirvana. Sixth, the Tathagata has completely understood that there is no self or what belongs to self in wisdom and the fruit of wisdom, therefore, regarding wisdom and the fruit of wisdom, because of completely eliminating wrong views and becoming peaceful, it is called complete nirvana. Seventh, the Tathagata has completely understood that all sentient beings and non-sentient beings and all dharmas are without inherent existence, therefore, because of completely eliminating wrong views and becoming peaceful, it is called complete nirvana. Eighth, if someone is attached to himself and particularly clings to himself, then he will seek everywhere, and because of seeking everywhere, he will experience many sufferings. The Tathagatas, because they have abandoned attachment to themselves, have cut off seeking everywhere, and because they do not seek everywhere, it is called complete nirvana. Ninth, all conditioned dharmas have number and limit, while unconditioned dharmas have no number and limit.

Because it has been abandoned. The Tathagata has abandoned conditioned dharmas and realized unconditioned dharmas, and because there is no number or limit, it is called complete nirvana. The tenth is that the Tathagata understands that the nature of all sentient beings and dharmas is empty, and that there is no other empty nature apart from emptiness, therefore he understands that this is the true Dharmakaya, so it is called complete nirvana. Son of lineage, these are the ten dharmas that show the existence of nirvana. Furthermore, son of lineage, is it not rare and wonderful that the Tathagata does not enter into complete nirvana? Furthermore, possessing ten rare dharmas is the activity of the Tathagata. What are the ten? Samsara has faults, and nirvana is peaceful, but knowing that samsara and nirvana are equal, therefore he does not abide in samsara, nor does he abide in nirvana, and he does not arouse aversion in sentient beings, this is the activity of the Tathagata. The Tathagata does not think, "These childish ordinary people act according to inverted views, are bound by afflictions, and have become afflicted, I must separate them today, make them understand, and thus attain liberation." However, by the power of the good roots of past loving-kindness, according to the faculties, nature, thoughts, and aspirations of those sentient beings, without generating discriminating thoughts, he also naturally and completely liberates them, and until the ultimate future, he teaches the true Dharma, benefits and delights them, without end, this is the activity of the Tathagata. The Tathagata does not have the thought, "I will teach the twelve divisions of scripture today, and thus benefit sentient beings." However, by the power of the good roots of past loving-kindness, until the ultimate future, he extensively teaches those sentient beings, without end, this is the Tathagata.

This is called the activity of the Tathagata. The Tathagata does not have the thought: 'Today I will go to villages, cities, and towns, and beg for alms in the palaces and homes of kings, ministers, Brahmins, royalty, commoners, and so on.' However, due to the power of past habits of body, speech, and mind, he naturally goes to those places, does beneficial things, and begs for alms, which is the activity of the Tathagata. The Tathagata's body does not have signs of hunger, thirst, excretion, or weakness, and although he performs begging for alms, he does not actually eat, nor does he have any conceptual thoughts. However, in order to naturally benefit sentient beings, he shows the signs of eating, which is the activity of the Tathagata. The Tathagata does not have the thought: 'These many sentient beings have superior, middling, and inferior qualities, and I should teach the Dharma according to their faculties and nature.' However, the Buddha, the Bhagavan, without any conceptual thought, teaches the Dharma to them in a way that is perfectly suited to their capacity and the defects of their faculties, which is the activity of the Tathagata. The Tathagata does not have the thought: 'These sentient beings do not respect me or make offerings to me, and they always utter abusive words to me, so I should not speak with them. These sentient beings respect me and make offerings to me, and they always praise me, so I should speak with them.' However, the Tathagata generates equal compassion and attains non-duality, which is the activity of the Tathagata. The Tathagatas do not have love and hatred, pride, desire, stinginess, and afflictions, but the Tathagata always delights in solitude, praises contentment with little desire, and praises abandoning busyness, which is
