布施等眷属，百千万亿无数，为了听法，各自使自己的身体隐没不见。那位人王的王宫极其殊胜，布置得非常庄严的法座，将成为说法之处。世尊，我们四大天王和其余眷属，以及夜叉们，都一心一意地与那些人王一起做善知识，因为将成为无上之法的伟大施主，以甘露味使我们感到满足。为此，我们将会守护那位国王，消除一切损害，使他获得安乐。在他的王宫、村庄、城市和国土中，也将彻底平息一切罪恶和不祥之兆。然后，四大天王同时合掌，向世尊禀告说：世尊，如果有人王在自己的国土中，即使有这部经存在，也不去弘扬，甚至在心中也舍弃，也不乐意听闻，也不供养，不尊重，不赞叹。四众弟子如果见到受持这部经的人，也不尊重，不供养，不侍奉，那么我们和其余眷属，以及无数的天神，也将听不到这部极其深奥和丰富的法，背离甘露味，失去正法的传承，失去光辉和威力，增长恶趣，天人和人类都将衰败，沉溺于轮回的河流中，迷失于涅槃的道路。因此，世尊，我们四大天王和其余眷属，以及夜叉等，如果见到那样的情形，将会舍弃那个地方，也不会有救护和守护的心。不仅仅是我们舍弃那位国王，连守护国土的善神

Even countless billions of retinues of generosity and so forth, in order to listen to the Dharma, each made their own bodies invisible. The palace of that human king, being exceedingly extraordinary, with a Dharma seat arranged to be exceedingly beautiful, will become a place for expounding the Dharma. World Honored One, we four great kings, along with the other retinues, and the yakshas, all with one mind, together with those human kings, will act as virtuous friends, and because of becoming great patrons of the unsurpassed Dharma, we are satisfied with the taste of nectar. For that reason, we will completely protect that king, completely eliminate harms, and cause him to attain happiness. In his palace, villages, cities, and lands, we will also thoroughly pacify all sins and inauspicious omens. Then, the four great kings simultaneously joined their palms and spoke to the World Honored One, saying: World Honored One, if any human king, even if this sutra resides in his own land, does not propagate it, even abandons it in his mind, does not delight in listening to it, does not make offerings, does not respect it, does not praise it, and if the fourfold assembly, upon seeing those who uphold this sutra, does not respect them, does not make offerings, and does not serve them, then we and the other retinues, and the countless gods, will also not hear this extremely profound and rich Dharma, turn our backs on the taste of nectar, and lose the lineage of the true Dharma. Glory and power will also be absent. Evil destinies will increase, and gods and humans will completely decline. They will sink into the river of samsara and stray from the path of nirvana. Therefore, World Honored One, we four great kings and the other retinues, and yakshas and so forth, if we see such a thing, we will abandon that land and will not have the mind to protect and guard it. It is not only we who abandon that king, but also the virtuous gods who protect the land.

大者们也会被遗弃而离去。这样被遗弃的缘故，那个地方会发生各种各样的灾害，王位也会丧失。所有的人们也不会有善良的心，而是互相束缚、杀害、辱骂、争吵、互相挑拨离间、欺骗，只想着对没有过错的人进行惩罚，因此疾病和瘟疫会发生。彗星会一次又一次地出现。两个彩虹会同时出现。日蚀和月蚀会持续不断地发生。黑白彩虹会显示不吉祥的征兆。流星坠落，地震发生。井里会发出声音。不合时宜的暴雨和狂风会降临。经常会发生饥荒的灾害。庄稼不会完全成熟。由于外来的侵略者众多，国家的人民会遭受许多痛苦的灾害。国家的土地也会变得不悦意，没有任何令人高兴的事情。世尊，我们四大天王，无数百千的天神，以及以前守护地方的伟大的善神们，完全抛弃之后，离去的时候，会出现成百上千无数的恶兆之物。世尊，如果有人间的国王守护地方，希望经常享受安乐的受用，希望安置众多的人们于安乐之中，希望彻底击败所有外来的侵略者，使自己的国家永远繁荣昌盛，希望正确的教法住世，痛苦的灾害和罪恶不善的法都平息，那么，世尊，那些地方的统治者们，不需要其他方法，只要听闻并完全受持这部殊胜的经王，并且对于读诵、背诵、受持、书写这部经的人们，也进行恭敬、尊重和供养，那么，我们和无数的其他天神眷属，都会因为听法的善根之力

Even the great ones will be abandoned and depart. Because of being abandoned in this way, various kinds of harm will occur in that place, and the kingdom will also be lost. All the people will not have virtuous minds, but will bind each other, kill, insult, quarrel, slander each other, deceive, and only think of punishing those who have no faults. Therefore, diseases and plagues will occur. Comets will appear again and again. Two rainbows will appear simultaneously. Eclipses will occur continuously. Black and white rainbows will show inauspicious signs. Meteors will fall and earthquakes will occur. Sounds will come from inside wells. Untimely heavy rain and strong winds will fall and rise. The harm of famine will always occur. Crops will not fully ripen. Because of the oppression of many foreign invaders, the people of the country will experience many painful disasters. The land of the country will also become unpleasant, and there will be nothing pleasing. World Honored One, we Four Great Kings, countless hundreds of thousands of gods, and the great virtuous gods who previously protected the land, after completely abandoning it, when departing, such hundreds and thousands of countless bad omens will occur. World Honored One, if any human king protects the land, wishing to always enjoy the pleasures of happiness, wishing to place many people in happiness, wishing to completely defeat all foreign invaders, so that his own country will forever prosper and flourish, wishing the correct Dharma to abide in the world, and the harm of suffering and sinful non-virtuous dharmas to be pacified, then, World Honored One, those rulers of the land, without needing other methods, only by listening to and completely upholding this supreme King of Sutras, and also by showing reverence, respect, and offering to those who read, recite, uphold, and write this sutra, then we and countless other divine retinues will, through the power of the roots of virtue from listening to the Dharma,

Through the power of blessing, they will taste the flavor of the unsurpassed nectar of Dharma, and therefore, we and our retinue will benefit, and the other gods will also receive supreme offerings. What is the reason for this? It is because this human king listens with one mind and completely upholds this sutra. World Honored One, just as the Great Brahma also always correctly teaches beings about worldly and transmundane treatises. Indra, the King of Gods, also correctly taught various treatises. The sages with five superknowledges also taught many treatises. World Honored One, Brahma, Indra, and the sages with five superknowledges taught countless treatises, but the Buddha, the World Honored One, with loving-kindness and compassion, thinking with affection, for the sake of the assembly of gods and humans, the extremely vast Golden Light Sutra that was spoken, compared to those previously taught, is exceedingly superior by a difference of billions of trillions of times, and cannot even be compared. What is the reason for this? Because by the power of this sutra, however many kings there are in Jambudvipa, they all subdue the world with the true Dharma, bestow the object of happiness upon sentient beings, and completely protect themselves and their retinue, so that there is no harm of suffering, and moreover, there is no harm from external enemies, all sins and non-virtues are abandoned far away, the local evil spirits are eliminated, and they are subdued with the true Dharma, so that there is no dispute. Therefore, the human kings each light the lamp of the true Dharma in their own country, illuminating the boundless, benefiting the assembly of gods and their respective retinues. World Honored One, we Four Great Kings, as well as the countless retinues of gods and yakshas, and all the gods and hungry ghosts in Jambudvipa, will all, by this cause and condition, taste the flavor of the unsurpassed nectar of Dharma, and
