If these are not self-existent, then from what do the mind and mental events of these arise? It is said: Those beings who know that the realm of phenomena is neither existent nor non-existent will understand this profound meaning. Then, the Brahma King said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, this Bodhisattva Wish-fulfilling Jewel Light is inconceivable, and therefore will realize such a profound meaning. The Blessed One said: It is so, it is so. Brahma King, just as you have said, Wish-fulfilling Jewel Light has shown this, and you have generated the mind to cultivate and learn the forbearance of the unborn Dharma. Then, the great Brahma King, together with many Brahma retinues, rose from his seat, draped his upper garment over one shoulder, respectfully folded his palms, and bowed his head to the feet of the Bodhisattva Wish-fulfilling Jewel Light, saying: It is extremely rare and wonderful! We have met this great being today and have heard the true Dharma. Thus he spoke. Then, the Blessed One said to the Brahma King: This Wish-fulfilling Jewel Light will become in the future the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha, endowed with knowledge and conduct, Sugata, Knower of the World, unsurpassed guide of beings, trainer of men, teacher of gods and men, Buddha, Blessed One, named Jewel Flame Auspicious Essence. The Blessed One thus declared. When this chapter was taught, three thousand hundred million Bodhisattvas attained the irreversible state from the unexcelled, perfect and complete enlightenment. Eight hundred million sons of the gods, and kings, ministers, and countless ordinary people, were freed from dust and impurity and attained the pure Dharma eye. 听闻佛法教诲后，一切都变得非常坚定，从而不可思议的殊胜愿望得以圆满，再次生起菩提心。他们各自脱下自己的衣服，供养菩萨，生起无与伦比的精进之心。他们发愿说：“我们所积累的一切功德善根，都完全回向于无上圆满正等菩提，永不退转。”他们这样发愿。大梵天王，这些众多的比丘，依靠此功德，如所说般精进修持，经过九十俱胝大劫，将会通达领悟，必定从轮回中解脱。之后，世尊对那些众多的比丘说：“你们将在三十无数劫之后，证得圆满正等觉果位。劫的名字叫做难胜光王。刹土的名字叫做无垢光。在同一时间证得无上圆满正等觉果位，所有人都名字相同，被称为以愿力庄严的国王，具足十种名号。”世尊这样授记。大梵天王，如果有人如理听闻并受持这部殊胜稀有的《金光明经》，将会具有大威神力。如果有人在百千俱胝大劫中，不以方便善巧而修持六波罗蜜多，不如任何一位善男子或善女子书写这部《金光明经》，每月读诵或背诵，一心不乱。此功德与前者相比，百分之一也不及，乃至算数、譬喻、因缘都无法比拟。大梵天王，因此，我今天教导你，要忆持不忘，并为他人广为宣说。为什么呢？因为我过去修持菩萨道时，

Having heard the teachings of the Dharma, everything became extremely firm, thereby fulfilling inconceivable and supreme aspirations, and again generating the mind of Bodhi. Each of them took off their own clothes and offered them to the Bodhisattva, generating an unsurpassed mind of diligence. They made the aspiration, saying, "May all the roots of merit and virtue that we have accumulated be completely dedicated to the unsurpassed, perfectly complete, and genuine Bodhi, never to regress." They made this aspiration. Great Brahma, these many monks, relying on this merit, will diligently practice as taught, and after ninety great kalpas, they will understand and comprehend, and will surely be liberated from samsara. Then, the Bhagavan said to those many monks, "You will attain perfect and complete enlightenment after thirty countless kalpas. The name of the kalpa will be called 'King of Light Difficult to Conquer.' The name of the field will be called 'Immaculate Light.' At the same time, you will attain perfect and complete enlightenment, and all will have the same name, called 'King Adorned with the Arrangement of Aspirations,' possessing ten names." The Bhagavan thus prophesied. Great Brahma, if anyone properly listens to and upholds this supremely rare Sutra of Golden Light, they will possess great majestic power. If anyone practices the six paramitas without skillful means for hundreds of thousands of great kalpas, it is not as good as any son or daughter of good family who writes down this Sutra of Golden Light, recites or chants it every half month with a single-pointed mind. The merit of this is not even close to one percent of the former merit, and cannot be compared even by calculation, analogy, or cause. 如同勇士投入战场一般，不顾惜身体和性命，像这样弘扬、如实受持、读诵、念诵这部殊胜的《妙法圣典》，并如实地向他人宣讲。梵天之王，譬如转轮圣王如果住在世间，七宝也不会隐没。如果国王寿命终尽，那么七宝也会立即隐没消失。梵天之王，同样地，这部《金光明经》殊胜的妙法圣典，如果住在世间，那么无上的法宝也不会隐没。如果这部经不存在了，那么法宝也会立即隐没。因此，要一心谛听这部《妙法圣典》，并完全受持。要读诵，要念诵，要向他人宣讲，并劝人书写，修持精进波罗蜜多。如果不顾惜身体和性命而精进修持，那么就会成为功德中最殊胜的，我的弟子们也应如是精进修持瑜伽。之后，梵天大王与无数的梵天眷属、帝释天、四大天王和夜叉们一起从座位上站起来，袒露右肩，右膝着地，恭敬合掌，向世尊禀告说：世尊，我们将会守护和弘扬这部《金光明经》殊胜的妙法圣典，以及讲经的法师们。如果有人制造障碍，我们也会完全消除，使他们具有许多功德、容貌、威力和力量，无碍的自信，身心安乐，并使听众们体验到快乐。无论住在哪个地方，如果那里发生饥荒、外敌入侵，或者非人作祟，我们天神眷属将会

Just as a hero enters the battlefield, without regard for body and life, in this way, propagate, truly uphold, recite, and chant this supreme and sacred King of Sutras, and truly teach it to others. Brahma, like a Chakravartin king, if he resides in the world, the seven treasures will not disappear. If the king's life comes to an end, then the seven treasures will also immediately disappear. Brahma, similarly, this supreme and victorious King of Sutras, the Golden Light Sutra, if it remains in the world, then the unsurpassed Dharma treasures will not disappear. If this sutra does not exist, then the Dharma treasures will immediately disappear. Therefore, listen attentively to this King of Sutras with one mind and completely uphold it. Recite it, chant it, teach it to others, and encourage others to write it, practicing the perfection of diligence. If you diligently practice without regard for body and life, then it will become the most supreme among merits, and my disciples should also diligently practice yoga in this way.
