If you wish to possess wealth and many precious jewels, and also to generate the mind of enlightenment and practice the Great Vehicle, you should also confess and completely purify karmic obscurations. If you wish to be born as a Brahmin of noble lineage, a Kshatriya, or a householder who is a Universal Monarch possessing the seven precious things, you should also confess and completely purify karmic obscurations. Son of good family, if you wish to be born as a god of the retinue of the Four Great Kings, a god of the Thirty-three, a god of the Free from Strife, a god of the Joyful, a god of the Enjoying Emanations, or a god of the Controlling Others' Emanations, you should also confess and completely purify karmic obscurations. If you wish to be born as a god of the Brahma Host, a god of the Brahma Retinue, a god of the Great Brahma, a god of Limited Light, a god of Immeasurable Light, a god of Clear Light, a god of Limited Virtue, a god of Immeasurable Virtue, a god of Virtue Increase, a god of Cloudless, a god of Merit-Born, a god of Great Fruit, a god of Non-affliction, a god of Non-heat, a god of Manifestation, a god of Excellent Vision, or a god of Akanishta, you should also confess and completely purify karmic obscurations. If you wish to fully attain the fruit of Stream-enterer, the fruit of Once-returner, the fruit of Non-returner, or the fruit of Arhat, you should also confess and completely purify karmic obscurations. If you wish to fully attain the three knowledges, the six superknowledges, the liberation of a Hearer or Solitary Buddha, having reached the ultimate ground, the omniscient wisdom, the completely pure wisdom, the inconceivable wisdom, the unwavering wisdom, and the perfectly complete enlightenment of omniscience, you should also confess and completely purify karmic obscurations. Why is that? Son of good family, all phenomena arise from causes and conditions, therefore the Thus-gone One also said that different characteristics will cease. Because causes and conditions are different, past phenomena cease and disappear, therefore all karmic obscurations will also be transformed by action.

凡是诸法未曾显现的，那些现在开始产生，未来的业障也不会生起。那是什么缘故呢？ 善男子，一切法皆是空性，如来也曾说过无我、无人、无众生、无命、无生、无灭、也无造作之法。 善男子，一切法都依赖于自性之基，所以也无法言说。那是什么缘故呢？ 因为已经完全超越了一切相状。 善男子或善女子，如果有人进入这样甚深广大的正法之义，并因深信而生起恭敬心，那就可以说是无众生且具有自性之基。因此，应当以忏悔来完全清净业障，这就是所教导的。 善男子，如果具备四种法，就能完全消除业障，并永远得到清净。四种是什么呢？ 不生起邪念，且具有圆满的正念；不诽谤甚深之义；发起视一切初行菩萨为遍知者的想法；以及对众生生起无量慈爱。这四种就叫做四种法。 之后，世尊以偈颂说道： 一心守护三乘法， 不诽谤甚深之法， 生起遍知之觉悟， 慈心清净诸业障。 善男子，极难消除的业障有四种。四种是什么呢？ 违犯菩萨戒中极重的罪过；以心诽谤大乘经典；不增长自己的善根；以及对三有强烈执着而没有出离心。 此外，还有四种对治业障的方法。四种是什么呢？ 对居住在十方世界的一切如来，从内心深处亲近

Those dharmas that have not yet manifested, those will now begin to arise, and future karmic obscurations will also not arise. Why is that? Noble son, all dharmas rely on the basis of their own nature, so they cannot be expressed. Why is that? Because they have completely transcended all characteristics. Noble son or noble daughter, if someone enters into such a profound and vast meaning of the true Dharma, and having developed faith, generates a respectful mind, that is called having no sentient beings and possessing the basis of one's own nature. Therefore, one should completely purify karmic obscurations through repentance, this is what is taught. Noble son, if one possesses four qualities, one will completely eliminate karmic obscurations and be forever purified. What are the four? Not giving rise to wrong thoughts and having perfect right mindfulness; not slandering the profound meaning; generating the thought that all first-acting Bodhisattvas are omniscient; and generating immeasurable love for sentient beings. These are called the four qualities. Then, the Bhagavan spoke in verse: With one-pointed mind, protect the three vehicles, Do not slander the profound Dharma, Generate the perception of omniscience, Loving-kindness purifies karmic obscurations. Noble son, there are four karmic obscurations that are extremely difficult to remove. What are the four? Committing extremely heavy transgressions against the vows of a Bodhisattva; mentally slandering the Sutras of the Great Vehicle; not increasing one's own roots of virtue; and being strongly attached to the three realms without a mind of renunciation. Furthermore, there are four antidotes to karmic obscurations. What are the four? Approaching with heartfelt devotion all the Tathagatas residing in the ten directions of the world.
