Engaging in diligence involves offering oneself to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. In brief, it means not being satisfied with roots of virtue, donning great armor, desiring to completely eliminate all obstacles, subduing the heart of Bodhi, possessing vast enjoyment, desiring fame and power for oneself, attending upon those with fame and power, never separating from virtuous friends, and abiding near Manjushri, the Youthful Bodhisattva. If one possesses these eight qualities, it will become the true path to accomplishing the meaning of mantra practice. Friends! In short, it is to never be separated from the mind of Bodhi, to have faith in the Three Jewels, to be extremely compassionate, and to always strive with a mind that does not become weary even towards those who have broken their vows. My mantra chapters are vast, limitless, and wonderful. Those that arise from a mind in harmony with the causes of Bodhisattva conduct will be accomplished; there is nothing else to be known beyond that. Having made it a non-discriminating mind, it should also be cultivated for the sake of awakening experience. Thereafter, the retinue complete with all, blessed by the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Pratyekabuddhas, and noble Shravakas, speak these words: "O son of the Victorious One, well done, well done! The meaning of mantra practice, in accordance with the Dharma, is in harmony with various activities, and the well-taught Dharma is for the benefit of all sentient beings." Thereafter, Manjushri, the Youthful One, well taught the Dharma in accordance with various Dharmas and in accordance with mantra practice. Great King! If anyone reads, holds, or remembers this assembled chapter, or places it upon the back of an elephant at the beginning of battle, and makes offerings with flowers, incense, perfumes, garlands, and various unguents, we will bless them, and they will also subdue opponents and enemies, and destroy the armies of others. Having written it on a scroll,

If this is placed in a house, then for the son or daughter of that family, or the king or great king, or the queen or great queen, or the monk or nun, or the male or female lay devotee, it will bring great protection and great enjoyment, as well as longevity, as well as freedom from illness, and constant increase of enjoyment. Having said this, all the complete retinue became silent. From the Great Explanation of the Ritual of the Mahayana Mantra Practice, the Chapter on the Emanation of the Bodhisattva Manjushri as a Youth, the first chapter, which is included in the Extensive Explanation of the Root Ritual. Then, Manjushri as a youth looked at the mandala of the complete retinue, and entered into the samadhi called 'Following the Vows of All Sentient Beings and Universally Observing.' As soon as Manjushri as a youth entered into samadhi, light rays with a hundred thousand kotis of rays of light emanated from the direction of the navel chakra mandala, illuminating all realms of sentient beings, and then returned, illuminating the pure abode's palace and abiding there. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Vajrapani said to Manjushri as a youth: 'The chapter on the mandala called 'Following the Vows of All Sentient Beings,' practicing the vast conduct, becoming common to all sentient beings, in your collection of mantras, if sentient beings truly enter, then the accomplishment of all worldly and transworldly mantras will be truly attained. Great being, please speak, please speak.' Having said this, the secret lord, the lord of yakshas, Manjushri as a youth spoke the extremely secret mandala tantra. He also demonstrates the miraculous emanation called 'Truly Inspiring All Vidyas.' Raising his right hand, he points to the mandala with the tip of his finger, and from that fingertip, hundreds of thousands of kotis of vidya kings arise, and having arisen, they also abide in the realm of the pure abodes.
