One should accomplish the unchanging in this way. Bodhisattvas do not enter into the distinctions of sentient beings. Otherwise, seeing sentient beings immersed in such places of view, one should by all means distinguish them in such a way that those sentient beings will abide in this single principle of omniscience, and there is no other way. Secret Lord, a Bodhisattva should also turn away from speaking frivolous words. He should speak words that are in accordance with the place, meaning, and time, that follow the meaning, that are pleasing to all sentient beings, and that enter the path of hearing. Why is that? A Bodhisattva is endowed with various languages. Otherwise, a Bodhisattva first tells stories, makes sentient beings happy, and wants to make them believe in the Dharma of the Buddha. He may also speak words that do not conform to the meaning, but in that way, the cause of the Bodhisattva in samsara will continue uninterruptedly. Secret Lord, a Bodhisattva should also turn away from greed. He should not generate a mind of attachment to the possessions of others and the wealth of others. Why is that? A Bodhisattva is not fainthearted. If a Bodhisattva becomes attached to himself, he will fall away from one aspect of the door of omniscience. Secret Lord, a Bodhisattva should generate great joy and should think like this: Whatever I should do, those things are naturally accomplished. Thinking of these things, one feels good, and one should repeatedly generate joy that the enjoyments of those sentient beings are not wasted. Secret Lord, one should also turn away from harmful thoughts. He should always have more patience, love, no anger, and be of a peaceful mind. He should treat enemies as he treats friends. Why is that? A Bodhisattva is not endowed with an evil mind, a Bodhisattva is naturally pure. Secret Lord, therefore a Bodhisattva should

One should be free from stinginess. Secret Master, furthermore, a Bodhisattva should be free from wrong views; they should have right views, fear the next life, be without deceit, be without hypocrisy, be without cunning, be upright, and have firm faith in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. Why is that? Secret Master, wrong view is a great fault of a Bodhisattva, it will cut off all roots of virtue. This is the root of all non-virtuous roots. Secret Master, therefore, even in jest, one should not generate wrong views. Thereafter, the Secret Master Vajrapani said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, how can it be that these vows of the ten paths of virtuous actions will not be broken or completely severed for the Bodhisattvas? Blessed One, how can a Bodhisattva, possessing the power of kingship, surrounded by family, wife, sons, daughters, relatives, and servants, and experiencing the bliss of gods and humans, not fall? Having said this, the Blessed One said to the Secret Master Vajrapani: Secret Master, well done! well done! Secret Master, therefore, listen and keep it well in mind, and I will explain the skillful distinctions of the downfalls in the discipline of the Bodhisattvas. Secret Master, there are two types of Bodhisattvas: what are the two? Namely, the householder and the renunciant. Among them, the householder Bodhisattva dwells in a house, upholds the five precepts, and rules the kingdom through various means and methods. Secret Master, if a Bodhisattva wishes to attain omniscience through the power of place and time, then they should, through various means, display various arts such as singing, music, illusion, and so forth, and gather beings together through the four objects of gathering. This is done for the sake of desiring the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment.
