To the disciple, the true nature of the tantra should be shown. Other things should be kept far away. Even if one is respectful elsewhere, it should be abandoned. Here are the verses for taking refuge: Until the essence of enlightenment is reached, I take refuge in the Buddha. I take refuge in the sacred Dharma. And I will not turn away from the Sangha. Here are the verses for the five precepts: Abstain from killing, stealing, taking another's wife, and lying. All that should be abandoned like the noble ones. The fifth is the drinking of alcohol. Here are the verses for the purification vows: I will not kill sentient beings. I will not steal the wealth of others. I will practice celibacy. I will also abstain from false speech. The intoxicating drink of alcohol, I will not drink anywhere. Dancing, singing, ornaments, and frivolous behavior should all be abandoned. High beds and large seats, and untimely food should be abandoned. Thus, the eight branches of purification, I will learn after the Arhats. As the Buddha has said, I will purely uphold them. By this, one will conquer the deceitful Mara and attain the supreme Buddha-fruit. Here, after the cycle of existence is pacified, becoming the protector of all beings, as long as samsara lasts, that person will be born in the state of the Sugata. Here, associating with good people, the wise are happy to benefit the world. Here, the water empowerment: The disciple should think of himself as being free from impurities and as clear as crystal. Taking water from the victorious vase, with a hand holding leaves, one should empower by reciting "Om Sarva Tathagata Abhishekata Samaya Shriye Hum(Tibetan:, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: Om Sarva Tathagata Abhishekata Samaya Shriye Hum, Chinese literal meaning: Om, all Tathagatas, empowerment, samaya, auspiciousness, Hum)". Here, the crown empowerment: Thinking that the crown made of silk and other materials is made of all precious jewels, and thinking of the disciple as a Chakravartin, the crown should be given to his head. Empower as before, reciting "Om Canda Maha Rosana Abisa Abisa A Saja Hridajam Hum Phat(Tibetan:, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: Om Canda Maha Rosana Abisa Abisa A Saja Hridajam Hum Phat, Chinese literal meaning: Om, fierce, great, wrathful one, enter, enter, his, heart, Hum, Phat)".
