I saw it as adorned by a gathering of good medicines, as adorned by a sea of jewels, as surrounded by a gathering of stars and the moon, as surrounded by a gathering of Vaishravana Yakshas, as surrounded by a gathering of Indra gods, as adorned by a gathering of Brahmin disciples, that splendor coming from afar. Having seen it, I went to greet it, acted according to the Dharma, and then said: Lotus Heart, please come here well, I have something to say, please listen to me. Having said this, the Brahmin Lotus Heart said to the Chandala King Tresangku: O Tresangku, since you are not a Brahmin, you cannot address me with "O," it is not reasonable. I, Lotus Heart, can address you with "O," it is permissible. Whoever can do this, it is permissible; whoever cannot do it, it should not be done. O Lotus Heart, the equal actions of men will change from previous equal actions. For example, my benefit, the benefit of others, the benefit of my retinue, the benefit of all beings, in short, what is particularly important here now, I will say it, listen. I have a son named Tiger Ear, please give your daughter to him as a wife, whatever reward you desire, I will give it. Having heard such words, the Chandala King Tresangku became extremely angry with the Brahmin Lotus Heart, his mind disturbed and hateful towards this matter, and because of this, three wrinkles gathered on his forehead, his face changed, his eyes changed, becoming yellowish like indigo. The Chandala King Tresangku said: Base Chandala, inferior one, degraded one, one who eats much, evil one, how can you say such words to a Brahmin who has mastered the Vedas, saying that Chandalas are inferior, destroying them without mercy. Is it appropriate for you to say such words? O evil-minded one, do you think that with your obvious arrogance, you are an ordinary person? Do not seek meaning in base, meaningless things. Gold will never turn to ashes. Can light and darkness coexist? One born in the Chandala caste wants to associate with noble Brahmins and with you, an inferior person.

How could one not be confused? Born in the birthplace of a Chandalas, I was born in a sacred place, therefore I do not wish for the inferior and the superior to be associated. I wish for Brahmins to be associated with the noble, but I do not wish for the noble and the inferior to be associated. A lineage that is complete, a lineage that is completely pure and without defilement, who reads the perfection of mantras, who comes from the supreme mantra and has reached the other shore of the Vedas, with definite terms attached, it is proper to associate with such a Brahmin who recites the Vedas, but I do not wish to associate with those of noble and inferior lineage. Seeking what should not be sought is like engaging in trying to catch the wind with a rope. It is the same for whoever wants to associate me with you. Corpses and inferior castes are impure to the whole world, so quickly turn away from the inferior! How can such a thought exist? To be with Chandalas and Chandalas, to be with gravediggers and gravediggers, whatever the caste, to be with that caste, to be with royalty and royalty, to be with Brahmins and Brahmins, likewise, the Jewish caste is also with the Jewish caste, likewise, the commoner castes are also with the commoner castes, similar people interact with each other, there is no connection between Chandalas and Brahmins. How would the lowest of all castes and the noblest castes want to connect? After the Brahmin Lotus Heart heard such words in reply, the Chandala king Tresangku said: Just as one can distinguish the difference between gold and ashes, there is no such difference to distinguish between Brahmins and other castes. Just as one can distinguish the difference between darkness and light, there is no such difference to distinguish between Brahmins and other castes. Brahmins are not born from the sky and the ocean. Nor are they born from the earth like fire is produced by rubbing wood. Wherever the birthplace of Brahmins is, the caste of Chandalas is also born from there, what is the difference between the nobility and inferiority of Brahmins? O noble Brahmins!
