Knowing all the teachings that perfectly reveal the power of meditation cultivated with a gentle and workable mind, a joyful mind, an unobstructed mind, and an unblemished mind. At that time, the Buddha, the Bhagavan, taught the Dharma that illuminates everything, namely suffering, its origin, its cessation, and the paths. The Bhagavan extensively taught the Bhikshuni Rupasundari (Beautiful Form). Then, the Bhikshuni Rupasundari, while sitting on that very seat, realized the four noble truths: suffering, its origin, its cessation, and the path. Just as a washed, stainless cloth readily takes on dye, the Bhikshuni Rupasundari, sitting on that very seat, realized the four noble truths: suffering, its origin, its cessation, and the path. Then, the Bhikshuni Rupasundari, having seen the Dharma, attained the Dharma, realized the Dharma, and thoroughly understood the ultimate Dharma, transcended doubt, abandoned hesitation, was separated from all designations, and attained stainlessness. Not being led by external conditions, she followed the Dharma of the teaching that reveals [the truth]. She touched the feet of the Bhagavan with her head and said to the Bhagavan: "Bhagavan, I have erred! Sugata, I have erred! So childish, so foolish, so unclear, so unwholesome, I am one whose nature is of perverted wisdom, that I sought the Bhikshu Ananda for a household, which was completely improper. Therefore, Venerable One, I regret my mistake as a mistake, and I repeatedly regret my mistake, and I will confess those mistakes. Hereafter, I will guard against mistakes. Therefore, Bhagavan, please accept my mistake and I will guard against mistakes." Rupasundari, knowing your fault as a fault, so childish, so foolish, so unclear, so unwholesome, with the nature of perverted wisdom, you held the Bhikshu Ananda for a household and did what was improper, having understood the Dharma Vinaya, your fault...

Seeing faults as faults correctly, and recognizing faults as faults, likewise confessing faults and guarding against them from now on, I too shall regard your faults as faults. Guarding against them from now on, one should strive to increase virtuous dharmas, and not let them decline. Then, the Blessed One taught and especially admonished the bhikkhuni Subhadda, and she dwelt alone in solitude, restrained by mindfulness, and dwelt in herself with mindfulness and perfect knowledge without negligence. Dwelling alone in solitude, restrained by mindfulness, and dwelling in herself with mindfulness and perfect knowledge without negligence, for what reason did the daughter of a noble family shave her hair, don the robes, and out of correct faith go forth from home to homelessness? She who abides in the supreme pure conduct, having realized and manifested the direct knowledge in this very life, is able to prophesy, and thus she has accomplished the deed by practicing pure conduct, exhausted birth, and will not take another birth in existence. The Brahmins and householders of Shravasti heard that the Blessed One had ordained a Chandala's daughter. Having heard this, they reviled, saying, "How can a Chandala's daughter practice correctly with the monks?" Likewise, they also reviled, saying, "(She) practices correctly with the nuns, laymen, and laywomen. How can Brahmins, Kshatriyas, and householders like great Sala trees look upon a Chandala's daughter?" King Pasenadi of Kosala heard the rumor that the Blessed One had ordained a Chandala's daughter. Having heard this, he pondered, "How can a Chandala's daughter practice correctly with the monks, and practice correctly with the nuns, laymen, and laywomen? How can Brahmins, Kshatriyas, and householders like great Sala trees look upon (her)?" He prepared a fine chariot, mounted the fine chariot, and surrounded by a large assembly of Brahmins and householders of Shravasti, with a path cleared in front, he set out from Shravasti, towards...

He went to the Jeta Grove, Anathapindika's Park, where Labu Gyalje's garden was located. He rode as far as the mount could go, then dismounted and walked around with his entourage, entering Anathapindika's Park. After entering, he went to where the Blessed One was, and upon arriving, he bowed his head at the Blessed One's feet and sat to one side. The Brahmins and the great assembly of householders from Shravasti also sat down, possessing the five titles. Again, together with the Blessed One, they manifested, engaging in various conversations of genuine joy and satisfaction, and after concluding their greetings, they sat to one side. Others recounted to the Blessed One the lineage of their parents, their names, their castes, and their clans, and then sat to one side. Still others, together, approached the Blessed One, folded their palms in reverence, and sat to one side. Others remained silent and sat to one side. Then, the Blessed One, knowing the minds of King Prasenajit of Kosala, the Brahmins of Shravasti, and the great assembly of householders, in order to reveal the past circumstances of the Bhikshuni Subhadra, summoned that Bhikshuni and said to the Bhikshus: Bhikshus, do you wish to hear directly from the Tathagata about the past circumstances of Bhikshuni Subhadra and, based on that, listen to the Dharma? The Bhikshus reported to the Blessed One: Blessed One, now is the time. Sugata, now is the time. Blessed One, please expound the Dharma based on the past circumstances of Bhikshuni Subhadra. We wish to hear and retain it again from the Blessed One. Bhikshus, in that case, listen well and keep it well in mind, and I will tell you. The Bhikshus reported: Blessed One, good, good. Those Bhikshus listened again to the Blessed One's teachings. The Blessed One spoke to them thus: Bhikshus, in the past, in the bygone era, on the banks of the Ganges River, there was one side of the Atimuktaka and Sala forest, and there...
