If there are frequent earthquakes in the third month of winter, disasters will occur within one hundred days. If there are frequent earthquakes in the fourth month of winter, disasters will occur within twenty-five days. If an earthquake occurs in the Rohini constellation, all seeds will be damaged, grains will not be obtained, and people will suffer, diseases will occur in the wombs of pregnant women, and there will be famine and slander, and one-third of the people afflicted with disease will survive. Great beings, kings, wealthy people, and the best of humans will be afflicted with disease. If an earthquake occurs in the head, medicines will become ineffective, and doctors, those who start sacrifices, those who perform sacrifices, Brahmins living in the forest, and ascetics will become ill. If the earth shakes in the hand, milky trees will wither, food and drink will be scarce, travelers will leave their homes, and those who dig holes and pits, sinners, and thieves will be afflicted with disease by the earthquake.
