།དེའི་ཚེ་ལི་ཤི་བར་གྱི་ཡུལ་ན་སྤྲང་པོ་ལྔ་བརྒྱ་ཡོད་པ་ཡང་ཐམས་ཅད་བཟའ་བ་དང་བཏུང་བས་ཆོག་པར་བྱས་སོ། །དེའི་ཚེ་ན་རྒྱལ་པོ་དེ་ལ་བཟའ་ཤིང་གི་ར་བ་ཞིག་ཡོད་དེ། འབྲས་བུ་རབ་ཏུ་རྒྱས་ནས་རྟག་ཏུ་བྱ་མི་ཐུབ་སྟེ། ར་བ་སྲུང་བའི་སྣ་བོས་དེའི་ཚེ་ན་རྒྱལ་བུ་དགེ་དོན་ལ་ འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་སྨྲས་སོ། །ཁྱོད་བདག་གི་ཤིང་ཏོག་གི་ར་བ་སྲུང་ཞིང་འདུག་མི་ནུས་སམ། བདག་གིས་ཁྱོད་ལ་དགོས་པའི་ཡོ་བྱད་སྦྱར་རོ། །དགེ་དོན་གྱིས་སྨྲས་པ། བདག་ལ་མིག་གཉིས་མེད་དེ་མི་མཐོང་ན་ཇི་ལྟར་ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་ར་བ་སྲུང་ཞིང་བྱ་རྣམས་བསྐྲད་ནུས། ར་བའི་སྣ་བོས་སྨྲས་པ། བདག་ལ་ཐབས་ཡོད་དེ། །དེའི་ཚེ་ན་རྒྱལ་པོའི་བུ་མོ་འཁོར་རྣམས་དང་བཟའ་ཤིང་གི་ར་བར་འཆག་ཅིང་ལྟད་མོ་ལྟར་སོང་བ་ལས་ལོང་བ་དེ་མཐོང་ནས་ལོང་བའི་དྲུང་དུ་སོང་སྟེ། ཁྱེད་སུའི་མི་ཡིན་ཞེས་དྲིས་སོ། །སྨྲས་པ། བདག་ནི་དམུས་ལོང་མུ་ལྟོ་བ་ཡིན་ནོ། །རྒྱལ་པོའི་བུ་མོས་ལོང་བ་དེ་མཐོང་ནས་དེ་ལ་སྙིང་ཆགས་ཏེ་གཏོང་མ་ཕོད་དོ། །རྒྱལ་པོས་བུ་མོ་འབོད་དུ་བཏང་བ་ལས་ཁོ་མོ་མི་འགྲོའོ། །བཟའ་བ་དང་བཏུང་བ་འདིར་སྐྱོལ་ཅིག །བདག་ལོང་བ་འདི་དང་ལྷན་ཅིག་ཟའོ། །དེ་ལྟར་ལོང་བ་དང་ལྷན་ཅིག་ཟན་ཟོས་ནས་རྒྱལ་པོ་ལ་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་གསོལ་ཏོ། །བདག་ལོང་བ་འདི་ལ་སྩལ་དུ་གསོལ། དེ་ལ་སྩལ་ན་བདག་གི་ཡིད་ཚིམ་པར་འགྱུར་རོ། །རྒྱལ་པོས་སྨྲས་པ། བུ་མོ་ཁྱོད་འདྲེ་གདོན་གྱིས་བརླམས་སམ། འོན་ཏེ་སྨྱོས་སམ། སྙིང་མྱོས་སམ། ཅིའི་ཕྱིར་ལོང་བ་དེ་དང་ལྷན་ཅིག་ཏུ་གནས། ཁྱོད་མི་ཤེས་སམ། དེ་ལྟ་ལགས་མོད་ཀྱི་སྲོག་འདི་ཡལ་ཡང་ལོང་བ་མི་གཏོང་ངོ་། །རྒྱལ་པོས་ཚིག་དེ་ཐོས་ནས་བུ་མོའི་ངོ་མ་ཟློགས་ནས་ལོང་བ་བཀུག་ནས་ཕོ་བྲང་གི་ནང་དུ་ཕྱོགས་དབེན་པ་ཞིག་ཏུ་བཞག་གོ །དེ་ནས་རྒྱལ་པོའི་བུ་མོ་དེ་ལོང་བའི་ཐད་དུ་སོང་ ནས་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་སྨྲས་སོ། །མཁྱེན་ཏམ། ད་བདག་ཁྱོད་དང་བཟའ་ཤུག་ཏུ་འདུའོ། །དགེ་དོན་གྱིས་སྨྲས་པ། ཁྱོད་སུའི་བུ་མོ་ཡིན་ཏེ་བདག་དང་བཟའ་ཤུག་ཏུ་འདུ་བར་སེམས། སྨྲས་པ་བདག་ནི་རྒྱལ་པོ་ལི་ཤི་བར་གྱི་བུ་མོ་ཡིན་ནོ། The malicious prince was unhappy and angrily dug a secluded place and hid the precious jewels. At that time, the virtuous prince had dry bamboo splints stuck in both eyes, and there was no one to remove them, so he writhed on the ground in agony. He didn't know where to go, and tormented by hunger and thirst, he was neither alive nor dead, and wandered in confusion until he reached the edge of the kingdom of King Lishibar. King Lishibar had a daughter who had been betrothed to the virtuous prince, the son of the king of Varanasi. King Lishibar had a herdsman who herded five hundred cattle, grazing them wherever there was grass and water. At that time, the virtuous prince was sitting on the side of the road when the herdsman drove a large herd of cattle past him, and he was almost trampled by the cattle. Among the cattle, there was a king of the herd who jumped on the prince, drove all the cattle under the dust, rolled on the ground himself, looked at the prince, and then stood up and licked the prince's eyes with his tongue, and also pulled out the bamboo splints. After that, the herdsman also came along and asked, 'Who are you?' The virtuous prince thought to himself, 'If I tell in detail my lineage and what happened, my brother will surely suffer great pain.' So he said, 'I am a blind beggar.' Then the herdsman looked at him, judged from his demeanor that he was not an ordinary person, and thought, 'My house is not far from here, I can provide for him, let him come to my house.' So the herdsman took the virtuous prince home. After the herdsman brought him home, he provided food, drink, and everything he needed, and said to the sons, daughters, and all the people in the house, 'All of you should treat this blind man with the same respect as you treat me.'

The householder said, "Is there something unsatisfactory? Do you intend to abandon us and leave?" Sudāna said, "Food and guests do not abide together for long through Dharma." Sudāna further said, "If you cherish me in this way, make for me a pleasing musical instrument, a lute, and transport me to a place where many people gather, or to a large city." Thereafter, that householder, according to his wish, prepared the necessities and transported him to the city of King Licchavi, settled him among the people, and happily returned. Then, because Prince Sudāna was very skilled in the lute, and the sound of the lute was pleasing and delightful, everyone gave him the necessities of life. He was not troubled by food and drink. At that time, in the land of Licchavi, there were five hundred beggars, and all of them were satisfied with food and drink. At that time, that king had a fruit orchard, and the fruits were so abundant that birds were always stealing them, and it was impossible to stop them. Then the orchard keeper said to Prince Sudāna, "Can you guard my fruit orchard? I will provide you with the necessary items." Sudāna said, "I have no eyes, and if I cannot see, how can I guard your orchard and drive away the birds?" The orchard keeper said, "I have a method. I will tie a rope to the branches of the trees, attach bells to the rope, and place the rope in your hand. Whenever you hear the sound of birds, just pull the rope." Sudāna said, "If that is done, I can do it. Lead me to the foot of the tree." Having said this, he went there. Prince Sudāna was in that orchard, guarding the fruit trees, playing the lute, and enjoying himself. At that time, the king's daughter and her retinue were strolling in the fruit orchard, going about as if watching a spectacle, and having seen the blind man, they went to the blind man's side.
