དགེ་སློང་མའི་གནས་སུ་ཕྱིན་ནས་དགེ་སློང་མ་དྲུག་སྡེ་དང་སྔར་ཕྲད་པར་གྱུར་ཏེ། དགེ་སློང་མ་དྲུག་སྡེས་བདག་ཅག་ལ་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་བསྒོའོ། །བུ་མོ་ཁྱོད་རྣམས་གཞོན་ཞིང་ལང་ཚོའི་དུས་ལ་བབ་ལ་བྱད་བཞིན་བཟང་ལ་སྡུག་ན་ཅིའི་ཕྱིར་འདི་ལྟ་བུ་གཏང་དཀའ་བ་གཏོང་བར་སེམས་ཤིང་རབ་ཏུ་འབྱུང་བར་སེམས། དེ་བས་ན་འཇིག་རྟེན་གྱི་འདོད་པ་ལྔ་ལས་ལོངས་སྤྱད་ན་མི་སྐྱིད་དམ། སྐྱིད་པ་མྱོང་ནས་ཚེ་ནར་ཕྱིན་ཏེ་རབ་ཏུ་བྱུང་ན་མི་སླེབས་སམ་ཞེས་བསྒོའོ། །དྲུག་སྡེ་མ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་བསམས་པ། འདི་དག་རབ་ཏུ་མ་བྱུང་ན་གདོན་མི་ཟ་བར་བདག་ཅག་གི་ཆོས་གོས་དང་། ལྷུང་བཟེད་དང་། འདོད་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་དབུལ་བར་འགྱུར་རོ་བསམས་ནས་ཤཱག་རིགས་ཀྱི་བུ་མོ་རྣམས་རབ་ཏུ་འབྱུང་བའི་བགེགས་བྱས་སོ། །བུ་མོ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་ཚིག་དེ་ཐོས་ནས་ལྷག་པར་མི་དགའ་ཞིང་མྱ་ངན་གྱིས་ནོན་པར་གྱུར་ཏེ། ཅིའི་ཕྱིར་ད་དུང་ཡང་འདི་ལྟ་བུའི་འཇིགས་པ་ཆེན་པོ་དང་ཕྲད་པར་འགྱུར། ཁ་ཟས་བཟང་པོའི་ནང་ན་དུག་མ་ རུངས་པ་ཡོད་པ་ལྟར་དགེ་སློང་མ་དེ་དག་ཀྱང་དེ་དང་འདྲ་སྟེ། འཇིག་རྟེན་གྱི་འདོད་པ་ལྔ་ནི་འཇིགས་པའི་སྐྱོན་མང་བར་བདག་ཅག་གིས་ཀྱང་ཤེས་ན། ཅིའི་ཕྱིར་འདི་དག་དེ་ལ་ཡོན་ཏན་དུ་ལྟ་སྙམ་བསམས་ནས་སྐད་ཕྱུང་སྟེ་ངུས་སོ། །དེ་ནས་ཕྱིར་བྱུང་སྟེ་སོང་སོང་བ་ལས་དགེ་སློང་མ་ཨུད་པ་ལའི་མདོག་དང་ཕྲད་དེ། བདག་ཅག་ལ་ཅིའི་ཕྱིར་ངུ་ཞེས་དྲིས་སོ། །བདག་ཅག་གིས་དགེ་སློང་མ་ལ་བསམས་པ་ལྟར་མ་གྱུར་པས་ངུ་བ་ཡིན་ནོ་ཞེས་སྨྲས་སོ། །ཨུད་པ་ལའི་མདོག་གིས་སྨྲས་པ། ཁྱེད་ཅིར་བསམས་ན་མ་གྲུབ་པར་གྱུར། བདག་ཅག་གིས་རབ་ཏུ་དབྱུང་བར་གསོལ་བ་ལས་རབ་ཏུ་འབྱུང་དུ་མ་གནང་ངོ་། །ཨུད་པ་ལའི་མདོག་གིས་སྨྲས་པ། ཁྱེད་རབ་ཏུ་འབྱུང་བར་དགའ་ན་ཁོ་བོས་རབ་ཏུ་དབྱུང་ངོ་། །ཤཱག་རིགས་ཀྱི་བུ་མོ་རྣམས་རབ་ཏུ་དགའ་ནས་ཨུད་པ་ལའི་མདོག་གི་སློབ་མར་རབ་ཏུ་བྱུང་ངོ་། །དེ་ལྟར་རབ་ཏུ་བྱུང་ནས་ཐམས་ཅད་འདུས་ཏེ་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་གཏམ་བྱས་སོ། །བདག་ཅག་རྣམས་རབ་ཏུ་མ་བྱུང་ན་སྡུག་བསྔལ་འགའ་ཙམ་མྱོང་བར་མ་ཟད་དེ། ཕ་མ་དང་གཉེན་བཤེས་ཀྱང་དགྲས་བསད། བདག་ཅག་ཀྱང་སྣ་དང་། རྣ་བ་དང་། རྐང་ལག་ཀུན་བཅད་གཏུབས་ཏེ་སྡུག་བསྔལ་མི་ཟད་མི་སྲིད་པ་མྱོང་ངོ་། །ཨུད་པ་ལའི་མདོག་གིས་སྨྲས་པ། ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་སྡུག་བསྔལ་དེ་ཙམ་མྱོང་བ་ལ་གཏམ་ཡང་བྱར་ཅི་ཡོད། ཁོ་མོ་རབ་ཏུ་མ་བྱུང་བ་ཙམ་ན་སྡུག་བསྔལ་མྱོང་བའི་གཏམ་དེ་མི་གཏོལ་ཏོ། །ཤཱག་རིགས་ཀྱི་བུ་མོ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་ཐལ་མོ་སྦྱར་ནས་སློབ་དཔོན་མ་ལ་རབ་ཏུ་མ་བྱུང་བའི་ཚེ། སྡུག་བསྔལ་ཇི་ལྟ་བུ་མྱོང་བ་བསྟན་དུ་གསོལ་ཞེས་སྨྲས་སོ། །དེ་ནས་དགེ་སློང་མ་ཨུད་པ་ལའི་མདོག་ཏིང་ངེ་འཛིན་དུ་ཞུགས་ནས་མངོན་པར་ཤེས་པའི་མཐུས་འོད་ཟེར་ཆེན་པོ་བཀྱེ་སྟེ་འཛམ་བུའི་གླིང་སྣང་བར་བྱས་ནས་ལས་དང་རྒྱུ་འཐུན་པས་ལྷ་དང་། ཀླུ་དང་། གནོད་སྦྱིན་དང་། མི་དང་། མི་མ་ཡིན་པ་ལ་སོགས་པ་བསྡུས་ནས་འཁོར་མང་པོ་ལ་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་སྨྲས་སོ། །ཁོ་མོ་རབ་ཏུ་མ་བྱུང་བ་ན་ཡུལ་མཉན་དུ་ཡོད་པ་ཅན་ན་འདུག་པ་ན་ཁོ་མོའི་ཕ་མས་བྱང་ཕྱོགས་ན་གནས་པའི་མི་དེ་ལ་བག་མར་བཏང་ངོ་། །བྱང་ཕྱོགས་ཀྱི་མི་དེ་དག་གི་ཡུལ་ཆོས་ཀྱིས་བུ་བཙའ་ཀར་ཕྱིར་ཕ་མའི་ཡུལ་དུ་བུ་བཙར་བཏང་སྟེ། དེ་བཞིན་དུ་ལོ་དུ་མར་དེ་ལྟར་སྔ་ཕྱིར་བུ་བཙས་ ནས་ཕྱིས་བུ་ཞིག་བཙའ་བའི་ཚེ་ཁྱིམ་ཐབ་དང་འགྲོགས་ཏེ་བཞོན་པ་རྟ་དང་ཐེག་པར་བཅས་ཏེ་ཕ་མའི་ཡུལ་དུ་སོང་བ་ལས། ལམ་ཕྱེད་དུ་ཕྱིན་པ་ལས་ཆུ་ཀླུང་ཡོད་པ་ཆུ་བྲུག་སྟེ་མ་ཐར་ནས་དེའི་ནུབ་མོ་འབྲོག་དགོན་པའི་ཆུ་འགྲམ་དེར་ཉལ་ལོ། །དེའི་ནུབ་མོ་བུ་བཙས་པ་དང་རྩྭའི་ནང་ནས་སྦྲུལ་གདུག་པ་ཡོད་པ་ཁྲག་གི་དྲི་ཚོར་ནས་བདག་བུ་བཙས་པའི་ཕྱོགས་སུ་འོངས་སོ། །བདག་གི་དྲུང་དུ་མ་ཕྱིན་པར་བདག་གི་ཁྱིམ་ཐབ་དང་བྲན་ཉལ་བའི་སྟེང་དུ་འོངས་ནས་བཙུགས་ཏེ་སྔར་བྲན་བསད་དོ། །དེ་ནས་ཁྱིམ་ཐབ་ཀྱི་ཐོག་ཏུ་འོངས་ནས་བདག་གིས་སྦྲུལ་འོངས་སོ། །སྦྲུལ་འོངས་སོ་ཞེས་ཁྱིམ་ཐབ་ལ་བོས་ན་མ་ཚོར་ཏེ་ཁྱིམ་ཐབ་ཀྱང་བསད་དོ། །དེ་ནས་རྟ་དང་། བ་ལང་དང་། བཞོན་པ་ཀུན་བསད་དོ། །ཁོ་མོ་འབའ་ཞིག་ཐར་ཏེ་ཕྱི་དེ་ཉིན་ནམ་ནངས་ནས་བལྟས་ན་ཁྱིམ་ཐབ་ཀྱི་རོ་ཡང་བམ་ཞིང་། ས་ལ་ཁྲག་བཙོག་བཙོག་ལྟར་འདུག་པ་མཐོང་ནས་ཁོ་མོ་སྐྲག་འཁམས་ནས་ས་ལ་འགྱེལ་ཏོ། །དེ་ནས་སྐད་ཆེན་པོ་ཕྱུང་སྟེ་ངུས་ནས་ཁུ་ཚུར་གྱིས་བྲང་བརྡུངས། སྐྲ་ཡང་བལ་ནས་རོའི་སྟེང་དུ་འགྱེལ་ཏོ། །དེ་བཞིན་དུ་ཞག་དུ་མར་ཆུ་ལས་མ་ཐར་ཏེ། ཆུ་འགྲམ་ན་འདུག་འདུག་པ་ལས་ཕྱིས་ཆུ་བྲུག་པ་བྲི་ནས་བུ་ཆེན་པོ་ཚུ་རོལ་དུ་བཞག །བུ་འབྲིང་པོ་ཁུར་དུ་ཁྱེར། བུ་ཆུང་ངུ་ཐུ་བའི་ནང་དུ་བཅུག །ཐུ་བ་སོས་བཟུང་སྟེ་ཆུ་འབོགས་པ་ལས་ཆུ་ཕྱེད་དུ་ཕྱིན་པ་དང་། ཕྱིར་བུ་ལ་བལྟས་ན་བུ་ཆེན་པོ་སྟག་གཅིག་འོངས་ནས་བཟུང་བ་མཐོང་བ་དང་། ཁ་གདངས་ཏེ་ཁུས་བཏབ་པ་ལས་ཐུ་བ་ཤོར་བ་དང་བུ་ཆུང་ངུ་ཆུར་ལྷུང་ངོ་། །བུ་ཆུང་ངུ་བསྙབས་པ་ལས་རྒྱབ་ན་མོའི་བུ་ཡང་ཤོར་ནས་བུ་

The group of six nuns admonished us, saying: 'Girls, you are young and in the prime of your youth, and your appearances are beautiful. Why do you think of giving up such difficult things to give up, and why do you think of becoming ordained? Therefore, wouldn't it be more pleasant to enjoy the five desires of the world? Wouldn't it be better to live a long life enjoying pleasure and then become ordained?' The group of six nuns thought: 'If these people do not become ordained, they will surely take away our robes, begging bowls, and all our desires.' So they obstructed the daughters of the Shakya clan from becoming ordained. When the girls heard those words, they became even more unhappy and were overwhelmed with sorrow, thinking: 'Why must we still encounter such great fear? Just as there is poison in good food, those nuns are the same. Even though we know that the five desires of the world have many dangers and faults, why do they see them as virtues?' Thinking this, they cried out and wept. Then they went out and as they were walking, they met the nun Utpalavarna. She asked us why we were crying. We said, 'We are crying because our thoughts about the nuns have not come true.' Utpalavarna said, 'What did you think that has not come to pass?' We asked to be ordained, but they did not allow us to be ordained. Utpalavarna said, 'If you are happy to be ordained, I will ordain you.' The daughters of the Shakya clan were very happy and became disciples of Utpalavarna and were ordained. Having been ordained in this way, they all gathered together and spoke these words: 'If we had not been ordained, we would not only have experienced some suffering, but our parents and relatives would have been killed by enemies. We would have had our noses, ears, hands, and feet all cut off and would have experienced endless suffering.' Utpalavarna said, 'What is there to talk about when you have experienced so much suffering? I cannot even speak of the suffering I experienced just from not being ordained.' Then, the nun Utpala entered into samadhi, and with the power of her supernatural knowledge, she emitted great light, illuminating Jambudvipa. Due to karma and the gathering of causes, she summoned gods, nagas, yakshas, humans, non-humans, and other numerous retinues, and said: "When I was not ordained, I lived in Shravasti. My parents married me to a man who lived in the north. According to the customs of the northerners, women return to their parents' home to give birth. Thus, for many years, I repeatedly went back and forth to my parents' home to give birth. Later, once when I was pregnant and giving birth, I traveled with my family in a horse-drawn carriage back to my parents' home. Halfway there, we encountered a river, but the river was swollen and we could not cross. That night, we slept by the river in a desolate place. That night, I gave birth to a child, and a venomous snake smelled the blood and crawled towards the place where I had given birth. It did not come directly to me, but crawled to where my husband and servant were sleeping, first biting and killing the servant. Then, it crawled to my husband, and I shouted: 'A snake is coming! A snake is coming!' But he did not hear and was also bitten and killed by the snake. Then, the horses, oxen, and carriage were all killed. Only I survived. The next morning, I saw my husband's body swollen and bloodstained on the ground. I was so frightened that I collapsed to the ground. Then, I cried loudly, beat my chest with my fists, disheveled my hair, and fell on the corpse. Thus, for many days, I could not cross the river and could only stay by the river. Later, the river gradually receded, and I put my eldest son on the other side, carried my middle son on my back, and put my youngest son in a leather bag. Holding the bag in my hand, I began to cross the river. When I reached the middle of the river, I looked back and saw a tiger grabbing my eldest son.
