ལ་གྱི་མཐུ་མངོན་དུ་ བསྟན་ཏོ། །རྫུ་འཕྲུལ་གྱི་མཐུས་སྟེང་གི་ནམ་མཁའ་ལ་འཕགས་ནས་རིན་པོ་ཆེའི་བལ་གླང་ཆེན་པོ་མགོ་བོ་སྟོང་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཞིག་ཏུ་སྤྲུལ་ཏོ། །བལ་གྱི་གླང་པོ་ཆེ་གཅིག་ལ་གཅིག་འཁྲི་ཞིང་མགོ་བོ་སྟོང་ཕྱིར་ལྟ་བར་བསྟན་ཏོ། །བལ་གྱི་གླང་པོ་དེ་རེ་རེ་ཡང་མཆེ་བ་བདུན་བདུན་དང་ལྡན་ཏེ། མཆེ་བ་རེ་རེ་ལ་ཡང་ཁྲུས་ཀྱི་རྫིང་བུ་རེ་རེ་ཡོད་དོ། །རྫིང་བུ་རེ་རེ་ལ་ཡང་མེ་ཏོག་པད་མོ་བདུན་བདུན་ཡོད་དོ། །པད་མ་རེ་རེ་ལ་ཡང་སྤྲུལ་པའི་སངས་རྒྱས་རེ་རེ་བཞུགས་སོ། །སྤྲུལ་པའི་སངས་རྒྱས་རེ་རེ་ལ་ཡང་ཉེ་གནས་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་རེ་རེ་ཡོད་ལ། ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་རེ་རེས་ཀྱང་འོད་ཟེར་ཆེན་པོ་བཀྱེ་ནས་ཕྱོགས་བཅུའི་འཇིག་རྟེན་གྱི་ཁམས་གང་གཱའི་ཀླུང་གི་བྱེ་མ་སྙེད་སྣང་བར་བྱས་ཏེ། རྒྱུ་འཐུན་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་བསྡུས་སོ། །རྒྱུ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་འདུས་ནས་དེ་ནས་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུས་ལུས་ཆེན་པོས་ནམ་མཁའ་ཡོངས་སུ་གང་བ་བསྟན་ཏོ། །ལུས་ཆེན་པོ་ལས་ལུས་ཆུང་ངུར་བསྒྱུར་བ་བསྟན་པ་ཡང་བསྟན་ཏེ། སའི་ནང་དུ་ཆུ་ལ་བྱ་བ་བཞིན་དུ་འཇུག་ཅིང་འབྱུང་བ་དང་ཞུགས་པར་ཡང་མི་མངོན་ཏེ། ལུས་ཀྱི་སྨད་ནས་མེ་འབར་བ་དང་། ལུས་ཀྱི་སྟོད་ནས་ཆུ་འབབ་པ་ཡང་བསྟན་ཏོ། །སྟེང་གི་ནམ་མཁའ་ལ་ཐོགས་པ་མེད་པར་བརྒྱ་ནས་སྟོང་གི་བར་དུ་ཆོ་འཕྲུལ་གྲངས་མེད་པ་རྣམ་པ་སྣ་ཚོགས་པ་བསྟན་ནས། ནམ་མཁའ་ལས་བབས་ཏེ་འཁོར་མང་པོ་ལ་ཆོས་རྒྱས་པར་བསྟན་ནས་སྤྲོ་བ་དང་། གཟེངས་བསྟོད་པ་དང་། དགའ་བར་བྱས་ནས་སེམས་ཅན་ཚད་མེད་པ་བརྒྱ་སྟོང་སྙེད་ནི་བླ་ན་མེད་པ་ཡང་དག་པར་རྫོགས་པའི་བྱང་ཆུབ་ཏུ་སེམས་བསྐྱེད་དུ་བཅུག །སེམས་ཅན་ཚད་མེད་པ་བརྒྱ་སྟོང་སྙེད་ནི་རྒྱུན་དུ་ཞུགས་པ་ནས་དགྲ་བཅོམ་པའི་འབྲས་བུའི་བར་དུ་ཐོབ་པར་བྱས་ནས། གཞན་ཡང་སེམས་ཅན་ཚད་མེད་པ་བརྒྱ་སྟོང་སྙེད་ནི་ཉན་ཐོས་དང་། རང་སངས་རྒྱས་སུ་སེམས་བསྐྱེད་དུ་བཅུག་གོ །ཤཱ་རིའི་བུས་དེ་ལྟར་ཕན་པ་དང་བདེ་བའི་དོན་ཚད་མེད་པ་བྱས་པས་འཁོར་མང་པོ་ལ་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་སྨྲས་སོ། །བདག་གིས་ཇི་ལྟ་བུ་ཞིག་སྙེད་ཀྱིས་དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པ་སྔར་མྱ་ངན་ལས་འདའ་བ་མི་མཐོང་བར་བྱ་ཞེས་ཏེ། སྟེང་གི་ནམ་མཁའ་ལ་འཕགས་ནས་བདག་གི་ལུས་ལས་མེ་ཕྱུང་ ནས་ལུས་བསྲེགས་ནས་མྱ་ངན་ལས་འདས་སོ། །དེའི་ཚེ་ན་འཁོར་མང་པོའི་རྣམས་ཡིད་ལ་གཅགས་ནས་མིག་མི་འཛུམས་པར་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་ལ་ལྟ་ཞིང་སྐད་ཆེན་པོས་ཆོ་ངེས་བཏབ་སྟེ་ལུས་ལ་ས་རྡུལ་གྱིས་གོས་པར་གྱུར། ཉི་མ་ཡང་འོད་མི་གསལ་

示现威力。 以神通力升到上方虚空，化现为具足千头的珍宝羊毛大象。 羊毛象一头挨着一头，示现千头回望。 每头羊毛象都具有七根象牙，每根象牙都有一个沐浴池。 每个沐浴池里都有七朵莲花。 每朵莲花上都住着一个化身佛。 每个化身佛都有一个近侍舍利子，每个舍利子都放出巨大的光芒，照亮了十方世界，如恒河沙数般，聚集了一切有缘者。 一切有缘者聚集后，舍利子以巨大的身躯充满虚空。 又示现从巨大的身躯转变为微小的身躯，如同在水中行走般进入大地，出入隐没不现。 又示现身体下部燃烧火焰，身体上部流淌水流。 在上方虚空中无碍地示现成百上千的无数种神变。 从虚空中降下，为众多眷属广讲佛法，令他们欢喜、赞叹、喜悦，使无量百千众生发起无上正等觉之心。 使无量百千众生获得从入流果到阿罗汉果的果位。 此外，还使无量百千众生发起声闻和缘觉之心。 舍利子如此做了无量利益和安乐之事后，对众多眷属说道： “我将如何才能不先于如来而入涅槃呢？”于是升到上方虚空，从自身放出火焰，焚烧身体而入涅槃。 当时，众多眷属内心悲痛，眼睛不眨地望着舍利子，大声哭号，身上沾满了泥土。太阳也失去了光芒。

He manifested his power. Through the power of miracles, he ascended to the sky above and transformed into a great precious wool elephant with a thousand heads. The wool elephants were close to each other, showing a thousand heads looking back. Each of the wool elephants had seven tusks, and each tusk had a bathing pond. Each bathing pond had seven lotus flowers. Each lotus flower was inhabited by an emanation Buddha. Each emanation Buddha had an attendant Shariputra, and each Shariputra emitted great rays of light, illuminating the ten directions of the world, as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, gathering all those with affinity. After all those with affinity gathered, Shariputra filled the sky with a huge body. He also showed the transformation from a huge body to a tiny body, entering the earth as if walking in water, and disappearing without being seen when entering and leaving. He also showed fire burning from the lower part of his body and water flowing from the upper part of his body. In the sky above, he unimpededly manifested hundreds and thousands of countless kinds of miracles. Descending from the sky, he extensively taught the Dharma to many attendants, making them happy, praising, and rejoicing, and causing immeasurable hundreds of thousands of beings to generate the mind of unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. He caused immeasurable hundreds of thousands of beings to attain the fruits from entering the stream to the fruit of Arhat. In addition, he also caused immeasurable hundreds of thousands of beings to generate the mind of Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. After Shariputra had done immeasurable benefits and happiness in this way, he said to the many attendants: "How can I not enter Nirvana before the Tathagata?" Then he ascended to the sky above, emitted flames from his body, burned his body and entered Nirvana. At that time, the many attendants were heartbroken, looking at Shariputra without blinking, crying loudly, and their bodies were covered with dirt. The sun also lost its light.

ཞིང་གནམ་ས་ཡང་ཆེར་གཡོས་སོ། །དེ་ནས་འཁོར་མང་པོས་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུའི་རུས་པ་བསྡུས་ཏེ་མཆོད་རྟེན་བརྩིགས་ཏེ་མཆོད་པ་བྱས་སོ། །དེའི་ཚེ་ན་འཁོར་མང་པོ་བརྒྱ་སྟོང་སྙེད་ནི་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་དྲན་པའི་ཕྱིར། སྡུག་བསྔལ་གྱིས་སེམས་གདུངས་ནས་མྱོས་ཤིང་འཐོམས་ཏེ་དྲན་པ་ཉམས་པར་གྱུར་ཏོ། །དེ་ནས་དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པས་ཐུགས་རྗེའི་ཤུགས་ཀྱིས་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུར་སྤྲུལ་ནས་འཁོར་གྱི་ནང་ན་འདུག་པར་བྱས་ནས་འཁོར་མང་པོ་དེ་དག་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་དེ་མཐོང་ནས་མི་དགའ་བའི་སྡུག་བསྔལ་ཞི་ནས་ཕྱིར་རབ་ཏུ་དགའ་བར་གྱུར་ཏོ། །དེ་ལྟར་དགའ་བའི་སེམས་སུ་གྱུར་ནས་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱིས་བླ་ན་མེད་པ་ཡང་དག་པར་རྫོགས་པའི་བྱང་ཆུབ་ཏུ་སེམས་བསྐྱེད་དོ། །དེ་ནས་ཀུན་དགའ་བོས་དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པའི་བྱིན་གྱི་རླབས་ཀྱིས་འཁོར་མང་པོ་ཐེ་ཙོམ་དུ་གྱུར་པ་སེམས་ཀྱིས་ཤེས་ནས་སྟན་ལས་ལངས་ཏེ། བླ་གོས་ཕྱོགས་གཅིག་ཏུ་བྱས་ནས་པུས་མོ་གཡས་པའི་ལྷ་ང་ས་ལ་བཙུགས་ཏེ་ཐལ་མོ་སྦྱར་བ་བཏུད་དེ། སངས་རྒྱས་ལ་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་གསོལ་ཏོ། །བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཅིའི་རྒྱུ་ཅིའི་རྐྱེན་གྱིས་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་འདི་དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པ་བས་སྔར་མྱ་ངན་ལས་འདས་ཏེ་འཁོར་མང་པོ་མི་དགའ་སྟེ་མྱ་ངན་བྱེད་པར་འགྱུར། །བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་ཀུན་དགའ་བོ་དང་། འཁོར་མང་པོ་ལ་བཀའ་སྩལ་པ། ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་འདི་ད་ལྟར་འདི་འབའ་ཞིག་ཏུ་དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པ་བས་མྱ་ངན་ལས་སྔར་འདས་པར་མ་ཟད་དེ། སྔོན་འདས་པའི་དུས་ན་ཡང་ང་སྔར་འདས་པ་མཐོང་བར་མི་བཟོད་ནས་སྔར་འདས་སོ། །དེ་ནས་ཀུན་དགའ་བོས་སངས་རྒྱས་ལ་གསོལ་བ། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་སྔོན་འདས་པའི་དུས་ན་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་སྔར་འདས་པའི་དངོས་པོ་ཇི་ལྟ་བུ་ལགས། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་བཀའ་སྩལ་པ། ཁྱེད་ལེགས་པར་ཉོན་ཅིག །སྔོན་འདས་པའི་དུས་བསྐལ་པ་གྲངས་མེད་པའི་ཕ་རོལ་དེའི་ཚེ་དེའི་དུས་ན། ཡུལ་བཱ་རཱ་ཎ་སཱི་ཞེས་ བྱ་བ་ཞིག་ཡོད་དེ། ཡུལ་བཱ་རཱ་ཎ་སཱིའི་རྒྱལ་པོ་དེ་ནི་འོད་ཟེར་ཆེན་པོ་ཞེས་བྱའོ། །རྒྱལ་པོ་འོད་ཟེར་ཆེན་པོ་ཞེས་བྱ་བ་དེ་ལ་མཐའི་རྒྱལ་ཕྲན་དྲུག་ཅུ་དང་། གྲོང་ཁྱེར་བརྒྱད་བརྒྱ་ལ་དབང་སྒྱུར་ཏེ། རྒྱལ་པོ་དེ་རྒྱུན་དུ་སྙིང་རྗེའི་སེམས་དང་ལྡན་པས་ཐམས་ཅད་ལ་ཡིད་དང་མི་འགལ་བར་སྦྱིན་པ་ཡོངས་སུ་གཏོང་ངོ་། །དེའི་ཚེ་ན་མཐའི་རྒྱལ་ཕྲན་གཅིག་རྒྱལ་པོ་དེ་ལ་མི་དགའ་སྟེ་རྒྱུན་དུ་ངན་སེམས་སྐྱེའོ། །རྒྱལ་པོ་འོད་ཟེར་ཆེན་པོས་ཟླ་བ་ངོ་རེ་རེ་ཞིང་དུས་དྲུག་གི་ཉི་མ་དང་སྦྱར་ཏེ། བལ་གྱི་གླང་པོ་ཆེ་ལྔ་བརྒྱ་ལ་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་དང་། ནོར་རྫས་དང་། གོས་དང་། བཟའ་བ་དང་། བཏུང་བ་བཀལ་ཏེ་ཚོང་འདུས་དང་། གྲོང་ཁྱེར་གྱི་སྒོ་བཞིར་སྤུངས་ནས་ཐམས་ཅད་ལ་སྦྱིན་པ་བྱེད་དོ། །དེའི་ཚེ་ན་རྒྱལ་ཕྲན་དགྲར་གྱུར་པ་དེས་དེ་ལྟར་རྒྱལ་པོ་འོད་ཟེར་ཆེན་པོ་ཐམས་ཅད་ལ་ཡིད་དང་མི་འགལ་བར་གོས་དང་། ཟས་དང་། གསེར་དང་། དངུལ་དང་། རིན་པོ་ཆེའི་བར་དུ་ཅི་འདོད་པ་ལས་སྦྱིན་པ་བྱེད་དོ། །ཞེས་ཐོས་ནས་མཐའི་རྒྱལ་ཕྲན་དེས་རྒྱལ་པོ་འོད་ཟེར་ཆེན་པོ་སྦྱིན་པའི་བསོད་ནམས་བྱེད་པ་ལ་ཕྲག་དོག་གི་སེམས་སྐྱེས་ཏེ། བློན་པོ་རྣམས་བསྡུས་ནས་ཁྱེད་རྣམས་ལས་སུ་ཞིག་བཱ་རཱ་ཎ་སཱིའི་རྒྱལ་པོ་འོད་ཟེར་ཆེན་པོའི་མགོ་སློང་དུ་འགྲོ་ནུས་ཞེས་བསྒོ་བ་དང་། བློན་པོ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་བདག་ཅག་ནི་གང་ཡང་རྔོ་མི་ཐོགས་ཞེས་སྨྲས་སོ། །དེ་ནས་ཡང་ཐམས་ཅད་ལ་བཀར་བཏགས་ཏེ། སུ་ཞིག་བཱ་རཱ་ཎ་སཱིའི་རྒྱལ་པོ་འོད་ཟེར་ཆེན་པོའི་མགོ་བསླངས་ཏེ་འོངས་ན་གསེར་རྒྱ་མ་སྟོང་སྦྱིན་ནོ་ཞེས་བཀར་བཏགས་པ་དང་། བྲམ་ཟེ་གཅིག་གིས་བདག་གིས་སློང་དུ་འགྲོ་ནུས་ཀྱིས། བདག་གི་ཡོ་བྱད་དང་རྒྱགས་སྦྱོར་ཅིག་ཅེས་བསྒོའོ། །ཡུལ་འདི་ནས་བཱ་རཱ་ཎ་སཱིར་རྒྱང་གྲགས་དྲུག་སྟོང་ཡོད་པས་དེ་བཞིན་དུ་རྒྱགས་དང་ཡོ་བྱད་སྦྱར་ནས། བྲམ་ཟེ་བཱ་རཱ་ཎ་སཱིར་སོང་ངོ་། །དེའི་ཚེ་བྲམ་ཟེ་དེ་ཡུལ་བཱ་རཱ་ཎ་སཱིའི་ཡུལ་ཕྱོགས་དེར་ཕྱིན་པ་ལས་ས་ཆེན་པོ་ཡང་རྣམ་པ་དྲུག་དུ་གཡོས། གཅན་གཟན་དང་རི་དགས་རྣམས་ཀྱང་སྐྲག་ནས་ཕྱོགས་བཞིར་བྲོས། ཉི་མ་དང་ཟླ་བ་ཡང་བསྒྲིབས་པ་བཞིན་མི་གསལ་ཞིང་མི་སྣང་བར་གྱུར། གཟའ་ལྔ་དང་། སྐར་མ་རྣམས་ཀྱང་དུས་བཞིན་དུ་མི་རྒྱུ། འཇའ་ལྟ་བུ་ དམར་པོ་དང་། ནག་པོ་དང་། དཀར་པོ་དང་། ཉིན་མཚན་དུས་དུས་སུ་སྣང་། སྐར་མ་ཡང་འཁྲུག་ཅིང་ལྷུང་བར་གྱུར། ཡུལ་དེའི་འབབ་ཆུ་དང་། ཆུ་མིག་དང་། ཁྲུས་ཀྱི་རྫིང་དང་། མེ་ཏོག་དང་། འབྲས་བུའི་ཤིང་རྒྱས་པ་ཡིད་དུ་འོང་བ་རྣམས་ཀྱང་སྐམས་པར་གྱུར་ཏོ། །དེ་ནས་བྲམ་ཟེ་དེ་ཡངཡུལ་བཱ་རཱ་ཎ་སཱིའི་རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཕོ་བྲང་གི་སྒོར་ཕྱིན་ཏོ། །དེའི་ཚེ་ན་ཕོ་བྲང་གི་སྒོ་སྲུང་བའི་ལྷས་སྒོ་སྲུང་བའི་མི་ལ་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་སྨྲས་སོ། །བྲམ་ཟེ་མ་རུངས་པ་འདི་ལམ་རིང་པོ་ནས་རྒྱལ་པོ་འོད་ཟེར་ཆེན་པོའི་མགོ་སློང་དུ་འོངས་ཀྱིས་ཁྱོད་ནང་དུ་མ་བཏང་ཤིག །དེ་ནས་བྲམ་ཟེ་དེ་ཕོ་བྲང་ནང་དུ་འགྲོར་མེད་དེ། ཞག་བདུན་གྱི་བར་དུ་སྡོད་སྡོད་ནས་སྒོ་སྲུངས་དེ་ལ་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་སྨྲས་སོ། །བདག

田地天空大地也大大震动了。然后众多眷属收集舍利子的骨灰，建造佛塔并供养。那时，成百上千的众多眷属为了怀念舍利子，因痛苦而内心煎熬，以至迷乱、恍惚，失去了记忆。然后，如来以大悲的力量化现为舍利子，安住在眷属之中，众多眷属看到舍利子，不悦的痛苦平息，转而非常欢喜。就这样转为欢喜之心后，所有人都发起了无上圆满正等觉之心。然后，具寿阿难陀以如来的加持力，心里知道众多眷属变得疑惑，便从座位上站起来，将上衣披搭在一边，右膝着地，合掌恭敬，向佛陀禀告说：世尊，是何原因、何缘故，舍利子比如来先入涅槃，导致众多眷属不悦而悲伤？世尊对阿难陀和众多眷属说：舍利子不仅现在这一次比如来先入涅槃，过去世也因不忍见我先入涅槃而先入涅槃。然后阿难陀向佛陀请教：世尊，过去世舍利子先入涅槃之事是怎样的呢？世尊开示说：你好好听着。过去世，在无数劫之前，当时，有个地方叫做巴拉纳西（古印度地名）。巴拉纳西的国王名叫大光。大光国王统治着六十个边境小国和八百座城市。国王经常怀着慈悲心，对所有人都心怀善意，广行布施。当时，有一个边境小国对国王不满，经常心怀恶意。大光国王每月都结合六个时日的太阳，用羊毛制成大象。

The fields, the sky, and the earth also trembled greatly. Then, many attendants gathered Shariputra's bones, built a stupa, and made offerings. At that time, hundreds and thousands of attendants, remembering Shariputra, were tormented by suffering, becoming intoxicated and dazed, and losing their memory. Then, the Thus-Gone-One, through the power of compassion, manifested as Shariputra and resided among the attendants. When the many attendants saw Shariputra, their suffering of displeasure subsided, and they became exceedingly joyful again. Thus, having turned to a joyful mind, all generated the mind of unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment. Then, the Venerable Ananda, knowing in his mind that many attendants had become doubtful due to the blessing of the Thus-Gone-One, rose from his seat, arranged his upper robe on one side, knelt on his right knee, and, with palms joined, bowed and said to the Buddha: "Bhagavan, for what reason, for what cause, does Shariputra pass into nirvana before the Thus-Gone-One, causing many attendants to be displeased and to grieve?" The Bhagavan said to Ananda and the many attendants: "Shariputra not only now passes into nirvana before the Thus-Gone-One, but in the past, he also passed away because he could not bear to see me pass away first." Then Ananda asked the Buddha: "Bhagavan, what was the matter of Shariputra passing away first in the past?" The Bhagavan said: "Listen well. In the past, countless eons ago, at that time, there was a place called Varanasi. The king of Varanasi was called Great Radiance. King Great Radiance ruled over sixty border kingdoms and eight hundred cities. The king always had a compassionate heart and gave generously to all without conflicting with their minds. At that time, one of the border kingdoms was displeased with the king and always harbored evil thoughts. King Great Radiance, combining the sun of six periods every month, made an elephant out of wool.
