Prince Patience grew up, liked to give alms, possessed intelligent wisdom, and developed great compassion for many sentient beings. At that time, that great king had six ministers who were naturally angry, lived by cunning and deception, and punished others arbitrarily for no reason. Everyone hated them and did not like them in their hearts. Those six ministers knew that there were defects in their bodies, so they were always jealous and disliked the prince. At that time, the great king contracted a serious illness, was tormented by the disease, became weak and emaciated, and was close to death. Prince Patience asked the ministers: Is the king's illness serious? Will there be a danger to his life? The ministers angrily said to the prince: The king's life will not be long. Why? Because a good medicine cannot be found, so his life will not be long. When the prince heard these words, he became very unhappy in his heart and fainted to the ground. The six great ministers went to a secluded place and discussed: If we do not get rid of this Prince Patience, we will never be at peace. After thinking and discussing, one of the ministers said: This prince has no fault at all, how can we get rid of him? Another minister said: I have a way to get rid of the prince. After saying that, he went to where the prince was and said to the prince: We have already searched for medicine in the territory of sixty small states on the border and eight hundred cities, but we have not found it. The prince said: What kind of medicine does the king need that it cannot be found? The minister said: Prince, do you know? The medicine that the king needs most is from the first birth to the last birth.
