善用功仔细听，牢牢记在心里，现在要为国王宣说佛法。听到这话，国王心中无比欢喜，譬如孝顺的儿子，父母去世时非常不高兴，被痛苦折磨，父母复活时，儿子如何无比高兴，国王也如此无比高兴。然后，那位婆罗门对国王说：生者终将死，止息乃为乐。这样宣说了半偈。国王听到宣说神圣的佛法，心中无比欢喜，对王子和大臣们这样宣告：你们如果对我有关爱之心，就不要忘记这个法，要牢记在心里，在任何地方，凡是众人聚集之处，村庄、城市、集市，要向众多来往的人这样宣告：转轮圣王为了救度沉溺于痛苦之海的众多有情，对一切有情生起大慈悲心，在身上点燃千盏灯，听到这半偈，为了成就这位大国王的慈爱和悲悯之心，大家都要写下来念诵，背诵，询问，练习，也要在心里思考它的意义，并像所说的那样认真地实践。那时，许多人听到这样的宣告，都非常高兴和满意，大家都异口同声地赞美国王，非常高兴。伟大的国王，您是我们真正的大慈悲之父啊！为了所有有情，您行持了极其难行之事，大家都赞叹不已，大家都在纸张、丝绸、树皮、木头和石头上写下来，并学习背诵。在任何众人聚集的地方也写下来，让大家都看到，从而生起无上菩提心。那时，伟大的国王在身上点燃千盏灯，以此供养伟大的导师婆罗门，其光芒照亮了十方世界的

Listen carefully and keep it in mind, and now I will teach the Buddha's Dharma to the king. Having heard these words, the king became exceedingly joyful in his heart. For example, when a filial son's parents die, he is extremely unhappy and tormented by suffering. But when his parents are revived, just as that son is exceedingly happy, so too did the king become exceedingly happy. Then, that Brahmin said to the king: 'If there is birth, there will be death. Cessation is bliss.' Thus, he taught this half-verse. Having heard the teaching of the sacred Dharma, the king became exceedingly joyful in his heart and proclaimed this to the princes and ministers: 'If you have affection and love for me, do not forget this Dharma, keep it in mind, and in whatever region, wherever there are places where many gather, villages, cities, and marketplaces, proclaim this to the many who come and go: "The great Wheel-Turning King, in order to deliver the many sentient beings who are drowning in the ocean of suffering, and having generated a mind of great compassion for all sentient beings, and having lit a thousand lamps on his body, in order to accomplish the loving-kindness and compassion of this great king, everyone should write down and recite this half-verse, memorize it, inquire about it, practice it, and also contemplate its meaning in their hearts, and diligently practice it as it has been spoken." At that time, many people, having heard this proclamation, became exceedingly joyful and satisfied, and all praised the king in unison, and were exceedingly happy. 'Great King, you are truly our great compassionate father! For the sake of all sentient beings, you have practiced what is exceedingly difficult to practice,' everyone praised, and everyone wrote it down on paper, silk, bark, wood, and stone, and learned to recite it. Wherever there are places where many people gather, they also wrote it down, so that everyone could see it, and thus caused them to generate the mind of unsurpassed Bodhi. At that time, the great king lit a thousand lamps on his body and made offerings to the great teacher Brahmin, and the rays of light illuminated the ten directions of the world.

世界显现光明。从那盏灯的光芒中，也发出了偈颂一半的佛法之声，所有人都发起了无上圆满正等觉之心。那盏灯的光芒也照亮了三十三天神的天宫，灯的光芒压倒了所有的天神之光，三十三天神都被灯的光芒照亮，他们心想：是什么原因，什么缘故，出现如此的光芒？用天眼观察，看到在世间界，伟大的转轮圣王发起了慈悲心，为了所有众生的利益，在身上点燃了千盏灯，供养伟大的婆罗门导师。众天神生起了极大的欢喜心，降临到世间界，化现为普通人的身体，来到了国王所在的地方，对伟大的国王说道：伟大的国王，在身上点燃千盏灯，行持极其难行之事，听到一半的偈颂，想要做什么？国王说道：种姓之子，我为了让所有众生都进入无上圆满正等觉之心。之后，化现的人又变回帝释天的身体，用身体的光芒照亮一切，对伟大的国王说道：伟大的国王，如此供养，是想要天王吗？想要魔王吗？想要梵天王吗？转轮圣王对帝释天说道：天王，我什么都不想要，天和人的享受我都不想要，我想要无上圆满正等觉，想要将所有各自的凡夫安置在安乐之地，想要让没有解脱的众生解脱，想要让没有到达彼岸的众生到达彼岸，想要让没有获得菩提的众生获得菩提。帝释天说道：伟大的国王，您真是太愚蠢了！无上圆满正等觉需要长久行持极其难行之事才能获得，为何要无

The light of that lamp also illuminated the palace of the gods of the Thirty-Three Heavens, and the light of the lamp subdued all the light of the gods, so the gods of the Thirty-Three Heavens were all illuminated by the light of the lamp, and they thought to themselves: What is the cause, what is the reason, that such a light has appeared? Looking with their divine eyes, they saw that in the world realm, the great Chakravartin king had generated a mind of compassion, and for the benefit of all beings, had lit a thousand lamps on his body and made offerings to the great Brahmin teacher. The gods generated a mind of great joy, descended to the world realm, transformed into the bodies of ordinary people, and arrived at the place where the king was, and said to the great king: Great king, you have lit a thousand lamps on your body, practiced what is extremely difficult to practice, and heard half a verse, what do you want to do? The king said: Son of good family, I am doing this in order to lead all sentient beings into the mind of unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment. Do you want to be the king of the demons? Do you want to be the king of Brahma?
