Thus, if there is no benefit to beings, how can one be called a great Chakravartin king? Or how can one be called the father of great compassion? Or how can one be called the great king of medicine? Or how can one be called the guiding great teacher? The so-called guiding great teacher is the one who guides to the right path and shows the path of liberation from suffering, enabling one to attain the unconditioned bliss. We are inconsistent in name and action. For example, a person suffering from thirst and on the verge of death runs around seeking water. He encounters a dry well and feels great joy, thinking, "Now my body can be revived from death." Why? If I don't find water, this life will not last long before death. Now that I have encountered a good well, I will surely find cool, clean well water, drink my fill, and be able to live. Thinking this, he hurries to the well. Arriving at the well, he takes off the clothes he is wearing, hides them to one side, and enters the well to seek water. Reaching the bottom of the well, there is no water, but only poisonous snakes, mist, scorpions, centipedes, frogs, toads, and so on, as well as rubble, trees, and rotten grass. At that time, the person who was exhausted from thirst not only did not find water as he had initially hoped, but was attacked by many poisonous creatures. He tried to get out of the well, but the well was old and dilapidated, and deep. There was no ladder, no rope, and not even a tree to climb. He tried to jump up, but he was exhausted and weak, unable to jump, and fell back to the bottom of the well, where he was devoured by poisonous snakes and other creatures. Until he was slightly short of breath, he said, "If I had known earlier that there was no water in this well, I would not have dared to look at it, let alone enter it! Now, because of this well, I am suffering the torment of suffering!" He cried out in this way. The Chakravartin king is also like that, each ordinary person, one who has died...

Below, the sons, daughters, and relatives of the household, seeing the suffering caused by pain and separation, said this: 'My body is like that dry well. The well has only a name but no water, so even if one enters, one cannot obtain anything. Thus, I am experiencing the suffering of losing my body and life. Now I possess the dominion of a Chakravartin king, endowed with the seven precious jewels, subduing beings with the ten virtuous actions, and governing the country with righteous laws. I have placed many beings in the states of gods and humans in higher realms, allowing them to enjoy the supreme qualities of the five desires. However, they are still unable to escape from the sufferings of birth, aging, sickness, death, pain, separation, and encountering enemies. They weep and wail for each other. Is this my fault? Why is it that I do not have the Dharma that transcends the world, which could benefit many beings? Although I desire virtuous Dharma and wish for great happiness, I cannot cross the ocean of suffering.' At that time, the Chakravartin king also thought to himself: 'Now my body is like a foolish benefactor without wisdom.' Then, at another time, because it did not rain for seven years, there was a great drought. The plants withered, and the grain became very scarce, leading to a great famine. People killed and ate each other, consuming each other's flesh and blood. Some parents ate the flesh and blood of their children, and some children ate the flesh of their parents. Parents, siblings, spouses, sons, and daughters also ate each other's flesh. At that time, the great benefactor wandered around and saw many beings weakened by hunger, becoming thin, feeble, with unpleasant complexions, their hair tangled, their bodies dark, carrying corpses on their necks. Some carried human heads, hands, feet, joints, arms, shoulders, knuckles, spines, thighs, shins, limbs, and small limbs. Some carried intestines and livers.

and the spleen, and the lungs, and the intestines, and the anus were all taken away, and he saw them. After seeing those sights, the benefactor saw them and asked, "What are these things you are carrying?" They said, "These things we are carrying are corpses, human heads, and hands and feet, and thighs, and calves, and limbs, and small limbs, etc." (The benefactor) asked, "What do you need to do with these human heads, and limbs, and small limbs, etc., that you are carrying?" They said, "Don't you know? A great famine has occurred, and grain is extremely scarce, and people are all hungry, and now one is eating another, and these things we are carrying are our food!" At that time, that great benefactor, hearing them say that, was alarmed, his hair stood on end, he fainted and fell to the ground, and after cold water was sprinkled on his face, after a long time, he regained consciousness and asked, "Then, if it is your food, whose flesh is this?" They cried out loudly and said, "We cannot tell the benefactor!" "Alas, we are miserable! Alas, we are miserable! Alas, alas, we cannot but tell you the truth, some of these things we are carrying are the flesh of the father, some are the flesh of the mother, some are the flesh of the son, some are the flesh of the siblings, some are the flesh of the relatives and friends!" Those hungry people each told the householder the truth: "We are very hungry, so we are eating each other's flesh!" At that time, that benefactor just held his breath and said to those who were not hungry, "From now on, do not eat each other's flesh anymore! Whatever you need, clothes to wear, or food to eat, or drink, or medicine for illness, whatever utensils you need, I will give as alms, come to my house in seven days! I will satisfy you as you wish, clothes, or food, or medicine for illness, whatever you want." They were very happy and said, "Very good, very good! How wonderful!" They praised in this way.
