What you have said is indeed loving and compassionate to all sentient beings, blocking the path of the three lower realms and creating the path of gods and humans. Ananda, I will now tell you a little about the difficult practice of serving parents, listen carefully and keep it in mind. Then, the Blessed One said to Ananda and those Bodhisattva Mahasattvas, and the many retinues, as follows: In the past, immeasurable, infinite, countless eons ago, beyond the distant past, in the land of Varanasi, there was a Buddha named Samantadarśin, the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha, complete in knowledge and conduct, Sugata, knower of the world, unsurpassed charioteer of beings to be tamed, unsurpassed teacher, Buddha, Bhagavan, appeared in the world. The lifespan of that Buddha was twenty small eons. His sacred Dharma also remained for twenty small eons. His image of the Dharma also remained for twenty small eons. During the time when the image of the Dharma was practiced, a human king named Rāja appeared in the world and ruled Varanasi. That king had twenty thousand consorts, four thousand ministers, five hundred elephants, ruled sixty small kingdoms, and possessed eight hundred cities. That king had three sons, each of whom ruled a small kingdom. At that time, the king of Varanasi was wise and intelligent, and always governed the country with just laws, so there were no cases of false accusations. Due to the king's merit and virtues, the rain and water were timely, and the crops were always good, so the people living there were happy and prosperous. At that time, the king of Varanasi had a minister named Black Rahu (Kāla Rāhu). Minister Rahu betrayed the king and assembled four kinds of armies, namely elephant troops, chariot troops, cavalry troops, and infantry troops, and attacked the king of Varanasi, killing the king. After killing the king in this way

Then, deploying the four divisions of the army, he killed even the king of the border principality. After that, he also deposed the second prince and prepared to wage war against the youngest prince of the border principality. That youngest prince was wonderfully handsome, exceedingly beautiful, naturally virtuous, gentle, smiling, and everything he said was beneficial, without causing harm. He always governed the country with righteous laws, not living by wickedness, so the people of the country also prospered in happiness, possessed wealth and precious jewels, and his treasury was full. The king's virtues were praised and extolled by all, and all the gods of the sky and the world rejoiced and revered him. At that time, the king had only one prince named Susha Deva, who was very intelligent and bright, possessed a compassionate heart, delighted in giving, had a body the color of gold, had the seven places fully developed, possessed all the marks of a great man, and was only seven years old. His father, the king, also loved him very much. At that time, a palace-protecting deity said these words to the king: "O King, do you know? The minister Rahu has usurped the kingdom, killed your father the king, and also deployed the four divisions of the army. The two elder brother kings have also been separated from their life force. The armies will soon be here, so why doesn't the king save his life and go elsewhere?" At that time, the king, hearing these words, felt all the hairs on his body stand on end, his body trembled, he felt dejected and grieved, rolled on the ground, and fainted. After a long time, he regained consciousness slightly and slowly said to the sky deity: "You who have a voice that speaks like this but whose form is invisible, who are you? Are the words you speak truly reliable?" The deity said: "I am the deity who protects the king's palace. O King, you are endowed with wisdom, virtue, and merit, and you govern the country with righteous laws, therefore I spoke the words I spoke earlier. Do not be troubled by suffering, but quickly flee and go."

Species. Then the king entered the palace and thought, "Now I must go to another place." He also thought, "There are two roads to go to another country. If I take the near road, I will reach the other country in seven days. If I take the long road, it will take fourteen days. I must take the near road." So he prepared seven days' worth of food and supplies. He went outside the palace, but then returned to the palace and picked up Prince Susha Deva, looking at him without blinking, and stood up as if frightened, and then sat down again. At that time, the queen saw him so uneasy and frightened, and said to the king, "Great king, why do you show such a fearful and frightened appearance, and your body is covered with dust, your hair is disheveled, your breathing is uneasy, as if you are about to lose the country, or be separated from loved ones, or meet hated enemies? What are these inauspicious signs? Please tell me." The king said, "What fault do I have? Don't speak if you don't know." The queen said, "Although the king and I have two bodies, we have one mind, like the two wings of a bird, the two legs of a body, the two eyes of a head. If it is like this, why do you hide it from me and not tell me?" The king said to the queen, "Don't you know? Minister Rahu has conceived evil intentions and betrayed the king, killed the father king, and harmed the lives of the two elder brothers. Now he is coming to attack me with troops, so I am fleeing to another country." After speaking, he picked up Prince Deyi and set out on the journey. After that, the queen also followed the king. At that time, the king was overwhelmed with grief and his mind was disturbed. He took the fourteen-day road and got lost. That road was also difficult to walk, and the grass was rough. There was not even a little grass or water. After many days, the food ran out. At first, it was secretly arranged for the king to go alone, so only seven days' worth of food was prepared, and as a result, they got lost. Three people ate together, and they took the fourteen-day road, and now there is still a long way to go.
