The queens and women, upon hearing such words, were tormented by intense grief, crying out, "Alas, this is suffering!" Tears streamed down their faces like rain, they loosened their hair, beat their chests, and rushed to where the Bodhisattva was. Arriving there, those as beautiful as goddesses, sorrowfully approached the Bodhisattva's feet, uttering pitiful cries of lamentation, and began to wail: "Alas, you who rule the entire Jambudvipa, who are kind to all beings, of great compassion, a deity endowed with many virtues, now the power of impermanence is so close, this is truly painful! Today, we are separated from you, the deity, becoming isolated and separated!" They also said, "Deity, please be patient! Please do not give up your life, do not leave all the beings in Jambudvipa without protection. Deity, please look upon the retinue of the queen, and the treasuries and storehouses filled with various jewels. Please also look upon the beings of Jambudvipa, who are always exceedingly joyful, in various ways. Please also look upon the gardens beloved by the gods, cities like pleasure groves, and the many beautiful cities like Arishta (梵文,Ariṣṭa,Auspicious), where beings dwell in great joy. Protector, you at all times, Have cherished them like sons, Separated from you, surely burned by fire, How will sentient beings survive? Separated from you, all of us, Will be completely under the power of the Lord of Death, Protector, if you completely depart, We will not be able to live! When the queen is tormented by grief, And beings suffer together, With your compassionate heart, Please have mercy on this human king! Deity, kind to all beings, Please be patient, do not give up your life! Protector, hero, if you pass away, Who will rule this world?" Then, the Bodhisattva, hearing their pitiful cries of lamentation, touched by sorrow, in order to comfort them, said, "Enough of your sorrow, it has been a long time."

The pain of meeting also inevitably leads to the end of separation. This is the nature of the world. You should always be mindful of virtuous dharmas! After saying this, he said to the two carpenters: 'Hurry up and saw, don't delay for too long!' As soon as he said this, the two were completely bewildered by Indra, and immediately used a saw to cut the Bodhisattva's body from below the navel. Before long, it was sawn through. Then, the great minister Great Wisdom, remembering the Bodhisattva's extremely difficult and unbearable suffering, his heart filled with fear and sorrow, hurriedly stopped the two carpenters, saying: 'Alas! Alas! What are you two doing? How can you kill such a compassionate one, kind to all sentient beings, endowed with many virtues, ruling the entire Jambudvipa, without fault, and causing no harm? Foolish people, how can you bear to kill such a Dharma king? How can the goddess of the great earth tolerate you? Why don't the gods, nagas, yakshas, asuras, gandharvas, garudas, kinnaras, mahoragas, etc., strike you with vajras, wheels, great arrows, sharp weapons, and so on? If you do such unholy deeds, how can your bodies not be shattered into a thousand pieces? How can your bodies not immediately fall into hell? Foolish people, hasn't this great being raised you like sons?' After saying these and many other words, the great minister Great Wisdom hurriedly rose from his seat, grabbed the saw with both hands, moistened the Bodhisattva's body with tears, and stopped them. Then, the Bodhisattva, in order to comfort his dejected heart, said: 'Child, stop, stop, do not grieve! Suffering, compassion, love, and manifestation'

All happiness will inevitably become different, becoming individual, distinct, and separate. Furthermore, son, the end of all accumulation is exhaustion, the end of erection is collapse, the end of meeting is separation, and the end of living is death. Therefore, do not hinder me from erecting my body. What is the reason for that? In the past, when the great wise one was erecting my body, the goddesses hindered it. Because they hindered me, they hindered my unsurpassed Bodhi, and they themselves generated much non-merit. If the goddesses had not hindered me from erecting my body, then before long I would have attained unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment. Son, furthermore, in this very place, seeing a tigress whose body was emaciated by the suffering of hunger, wanting to eat her cub, with a mind utterly overcome by compassion, in order to completely protect it, I immediately gave myself completely, and the Bodhisattva Maitreya, who was to enter forty kalpas, was thus caused to regress. Furthermore, great wise one, when I became King Shibi, I also saw an old Brahmin begging, and driven by compassion, in order to completely fulfill the beggar's wish, I immediately plucked out my own two undamaged eyes, which were like the leaves of a blue উৎপল (Sanskrit Devanagari: उत्पल, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: utpala, Chinese literal meaning: blue lotus), immaculate, extremely beautiful, captivating the eyes and minds of sentient beings, with blood and gave them to him. Furthermore, great wise one, when I became King Moonlight, there was also a fierce Brahmin begging for a head and eyes, with a mind utterly imbued with compassion, although hindered by the assemblies of gods, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, mahoragas, siddhas, vidyadharas, and hundreds of thousands of gods, I saw these beings without protectors, thinking that in order to attain unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment, to liberate sentient beings from the wilderness of samsara, I would pervade them with love, and I gave away my own jewels, gold, silver, vairocana, diamonds, indranila, and butter.
