The Jataka of Glorious Army The Jataka of Glorious Army In Indian language: Śrī Sena Avadānaṃ. In Tibetan: The Jataka of Glorious Army. Homage to the Three Jewels! The origin of the story is in Shravasti. Then, the Blessed One said to the monks: Monks, if I both know the fruit of giving and also know the ripening of the fruit of the distribution of giving, and if sentient beings also know the fruit of giving and also know the ripening of the fruit of the distribution of giving, then even the last morsel of food, if they can find a worthy recipient, they will not eat it until they have given or distributed it, and their minds will not be completely bound by stinginess. Just as I both know the fruit of giving and also know the ripening of the fruit of the distribution of giving, but sentient beings do not know the fruit of giving and do not know the ripening of the fruit of the distribution of giving, therefore, they will eat with an attached mind without giving or distributing, and their minds will be completely bound by stinginess. The Blessed One said thus, and after the Sugata said thus, the Teacher also said this: The ripening of distribution, how it becomes a great meaning. As the great sages have said, if sentient beings know. They will not eat before giving, and will not become stingy. Their mind of attachment, will never arise. Because foolish children, are obscured and do not know. Therefore, with a mind of attachment, they always eat without giving. After they have become stingy, their minds are completely bound. When the Blessed One spoke this sutra, the earth shook in six ways, and rays of light emanated from the Blessed One's own body. Then, the monks saw the inconceivable and wonderful miracle of the Blessed One

When they arrived, they were amazed and asked the Buddha Bhagavan: "Venerable, without cause and condition, the Tathagatas, Arhats, Perfectly Awakened Ones do not display such wonderful miracles. Venerable, what is the cause of such wonderful miracles? What is the condition?" The Bhagavan said: "Monks, do you want to hear the cause of this kind of miracle?" "Venerable, we would like to hear it." "Monks, then listen well, pay close attention, and I will tell you. Monks, in the past, in the past, there was a royal palace called Arishta, which was wealthy, prosperous, happy, and fertile, with a large population and dense population, twelve yojanas in circumference, seven yojanas wide, square, very prosperous, with umbrellas, flags, banners, and stables hanging.

Giving everything completely, giving completely without attachment, entering into great giving, even giving one's own flesh. Therefore, there is nothing that is not given and not completely given. Monks, the king of the Glorious Tribe established a place for giving at the end of the city on the eastern side of the royal palace of Ariṣṭa. Giving is giving, and doing good is doing. At the southern, western, and northern city gates, giving is giving, and doing good is doing. In the middle of the crossroads, too, giving is giving, and doing good is doing. Like this, to those who want food, food is given; to those who want drink, drink is given; and also food and drink, lamps and garlands, fragrances and perfumes, clothes and bedding, mats and backrests, dwellings and images, vehicles and elephants, horses and ornaments, vessels of gold filled with silver powder and vessels of silver filled with gold powder, and cows with golden horns and silver hooves, covered with Kharva milking vessels and double cotton cloths, and young women, adorned with all ornaments, giving is giving, and doing good is doing. Monks, how much did the king of the Glorious Tribe give, so much that all the people of Jambudvipa became rich, with more wealth and greater enjoyment. Moreover, at that time, ninety-six billion people lived in the city of the royal palace of Ariṣṭa, and the king of the Glorious Tribe became beloved and pleasing to all of them. Furthermore, when men and women saw him, they obtained joy that could not be satisfied. Monks, the king of the Glorious Tribe had twelve thousand ministers, and the best of those ministers was named Great Wisdom, who was wise, clear, intelligent, ruling over all, completely ruling the king, and became beloved, pleasing, and cherished by the king of the Glorious Tribe. When he saw this person's form, color, marks, and shape, he could not be satisfied, and he would not separate from him even for a moment. Monks,
