Always possessing the nature of compassion, completely giving away external objects, even when someone begs for his flesh, he gives it with loving-kindness. Whether internal or external, he gives without any reservation with loving-kindness, and strives to reach the ultimate point of Bodhi. He, like pure gold, perfectly accomplishes all beings, and by the power of that king, all will incline towards the heavenly realms. That king of great wisdom, by his power, no one will be born in the birthplaces of hell, hungry ghosts, and animals. By the power of his splendor, all will go to the light, and rejoice in generosity and discipline, playing happily in the garden of joy. For those who attend to the Glorious Assembly, being respectful, that too will appear joyfully in the delightful scenes of the heavenly realm. Then, the gods of the Thirty-Three heard those words and were delighted in their hearts, satisfied in their minds, and filled with joy, saying: It is most wondrous that this king strives to give away even limbs and minor parts! However, giving away limbs and minor parts like this is difficult, because there is nothing more cherished than oneself, so how can this great being not think of the suffering of his own body, and give away limbs and minor parts? This is truly beyond measure! Indra said: Friends, do not speak like that! This king is powerful, possesses great magical abilities, and is greatly compassionate, even giving away his own flesh, there is nothing that he does not give away. At one time, the queen was sleeping on a great bed of glorious light, and at dawn she had four dreams: she saw the Glorious Assembly pushing herself off the bed and then lifting her up again; she saw herself plucking out her own eyes and then growing them back; she saw her right arm being cut off and falling to the ground, and then growing back; and she dreamed that a non-human being, the color of crushed silver stone, violently plucked out the left arm of King Glorious Assembly, snatched it away, and then it grew back again. Upon waking up, she became frightened, terrified,

His hair stood on end, thinking, 'Will I or the deity suffer the only pain?' Then he spoke to the king, Glorious Army. Since he was skilled in interpreting dreams, he thought, 'From the dream he has seen, it will not be long before the event of taking this concubine will occur.' So he said, 'Do not be afraid! What is the use of dwelling on a dream that is like an illusion? Glorious Army, did you not see me sitting on the cushion? My eyes are not damaged, I am sitting as before, and my right arm is as it is, and my left arm is also as it is.' With that, he sighed and sat without saying a word. After some time, on the second night, the chief minister, named Great Wisdom, dreamed that the palace made of all the jewels of King Glorious Army collapsed, and those jewels were taken from each other by flesh-eaters who were terrifying to see, and then the palaces were put together again separately. Upon waking, he was frightened and terrified, disgusted and his hair stood on end, thinking, 'He is kind to all sentient beings, will the body of the deity Glorious Army not be taken?' The deity also bestows all, gives away all completely, gives without attachment. Like this, there is nothing that he does not completely give away to the lowly, the blind, the poor, and the suffering. Do not report to King Glorious Army, lest he become very displeased. Then, he secretly summoned a diviner and, after solemnly instructing him, said, 'Wise one, I have had such a dream, what kind of result will it produce? Please prophesy.' The diviner said, 'From such a dream, it will not be long before the event of taking the deity's body will occur.' Upon hearing such an interpretation of the dream, the great minister Great Wisdom was tormented by intense suffering, his eyes filled with tears, his hands supporting his cheeks, and understanding in his heart that King Glorious Army, who is loving and compassionate, kind to all sentient beings, and endowed with many virtues, is being approached so quickly by the power of impermanence. Then, on the third night,

Twelve thousand Brahmins had five dreams: King Shri Sena's umbrella and crown were taken away and then given back; the heads of all beings were cut off and then grew back; the eyes of all the people of Jambudvipa were gouged out and then grew back; the feet and hands of all the people of Jambudvipa were cut off and then grew back; and King Shri Sena fell from the lion throne and then began to climb back up. King Shri Sena, feeling fear, dread, and weariness, ruled the great land, possessed a nature of loving-kindness, was full of compassion, and was pleasing to all sentient beings, but the power of impermanence was near, and would not change. We, who dwell together with the gods, have become different from them, and will not be separated, will not be scattered, will not become helpless people of Jambudvipa. They summoned the soothsayers and spoke to them. They prophesied when all would become like this. Having heard the omen of such dreams, the assembly of people dwelling in the city of Arishta began to weep with miserable cries. The news spread from one to another, and all the people of Jambudvipa were struck by the suffering of intense grief and began to utter deep lamentations. King Shri Sena heard of this. Having heard it, he thought again and again, 'My body will be begged for,' and thinking this, his mind became very joyful and content. 'O wise ones, people of Jambudvipa, may you be well and engage in virtue! What is the use of thinking about illusory dreams?' He proclaimed to all the people of Jambudvipa.
